"Welco back!" Dana said with a sweet smile.
Hearing her, Darren turned nervous as he realized that she might already know why he had returned to the blood Moon pack just a day after leaving. Though his presence there was understandable because his make was in their pack, it still surprised the pack mbers.
Even Emily was surprised to see him today. He had co along which ant that his reason for coming was deleted from Kora. If it was a business eting, he would co with either Mateo, Levi, Logan, or Leo but he ca alone, and that too under short notice.
"Welco Alpha," Emily said as soon as she caught up with him and Dana.
Dana, who had co to personally receive him, was a step ahead of them because she could see that Darren’s mind was occupied and didn’t seem to want anyone around him.
"How are you, Emily?" he asked but his gaze was far from her, looking up the stairs in the room that he knew to be Kora’s.
"I am fine Alpha," she said and walked in front of him and then stopped making him stop as well. "But you don’t seem alright, what is it?" she asked but Darren frowned. Was it that obvious that he was distracted?
He looked at Emily and wanted to shun her but rembering that she was Kora’s best friend, he held back his tongue. "Nothing that cannot be fixed." and Emuly nodded. "Luna Dana," he called, getting her attention. She stopped and turned around. "I would like a word with you and Alpha Lazarus," he said.
"Alright, Alpha Supre," she said and walked in a different direction while Emily walked him to Kora’s room.
Getting to the room, Emily stopped by the door and gave a curt bow to him before turning around and walking away.
Darren stared at the door for a while before closing his eyes drawing a deep breath and going in. The room was empty but he could see vapor in the direction of the bathroom and he knew she was inside having a bath so he waited.
After a few minutes, she ca out wrapped in a towel. Though she knew he was there, she still had a look of surprise on her face when she saw him. He sat on the single sofa with an elbow on the armrest and his palm holding up his face, his eyes were shut so she couldn’t see the emotions in them. She walked behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck hugging him.
He opened his eyes feeling her arks on him and the sparks of the may bond. His tensed muscles relaxed and the deep furrow between his brow retreated. Tilting his head up, he found her face so close to his and her bright smile that made him wonder what it was that made her so happy. But seeing that smile was enough to calm his mind. She was not upset, or mad at him.
"Did I keep you waiting for long?" she asked, leaning and kissing his lips.
Her action right now surprised him so much but it was well received by his lycan. He heard how depressed she sounded over the phone and his heart sank to the pit of his stomach, but right now, he didn’t know what to think.
"No, I just got here," he said and she nodded, walking around the sofa and sitting on his lap. "I am sorry for being reckless," he apologized. She tilted her head to one side as if not understanding what he had just said. "I should have been more careful,"
"This is nobody’s fault," she said changing her position on his lap and now straddling him. She cupped his face and then smiled. "I have made a decision," she took hold of his wrist and led his palm under the towel and up to her stomach, "I want to keep it," she inford him.
Darren didn’t know how to react to this at all. This was good news but...was she ready for this? She was still so young and had years ahead of her. Being shifters, their years were longer than that of the humans, especially the two of them. Having children was not sothing he would like to rush her into.
"Are you sure about this, my love? I don’t want you forcing yourself to do anything you don’t want to," he asked. While his palm was still placed on her stomach, he circled her waist with the other hand. "We can have them whenever you are ready," he said. There was a pleading look in his eyes that she couldn’t understand what he ant by that.
"I am sure," she said. There was no doubt or hesitation in her eyes as she said. She was very confident in her decision. "I want this baby," she touched his hand that was still on her stomach, giving a second glance at it before locking eyes with him, "I want it," she declared.
Hearing her firm response, he could not fight the urge to kiss her so he succumbed to it, sealing her lips in a deep and salacious kiss that left her moaning and breathless by the ti he pulled away. His hand had trailed you from her stomach to her soft and tender breast giving it a little squeeze.
He didn’t know why she suddenly made that decision but he would support her decision no matter what the reason for her decision was no matter what happened, whether there was a child or not, she would always be his mate and he would always love her, and choose her.
"Thank you," he said, multiple emotions flashed across his eyes but she was able to slot them and differentiate them. "Thank you for not being mad at , for not hating and staying away from ," that would have been the hardest for him. Knowing that she hated him or that she didn’t want to see him would have been more than painful. It would also an having sleepless nights again and he was sure this ti around, it would be worse than before.
