The topic of the dinner conversation in the latter half revolved entirely around Liang Lei and Lin Hanrui.

Chen Ningxi asked, "Since he can make you so happy, Lin Hanrui must be quite adept at handling things, right?"

"Well..." Liang Lei hesitated before answering, "He’s not just good at that; he truly understands . Just a look from , and he knows what I want to do. Anyway, if he’s not the best, he’s definitely among the top."

Good timing, great skills, and excellent taste—first class!

Chen Ningxi said, "Since he’s good in every aspect, are you planning to date him long-term?"

Liang Lei grabbed a napkin to wipe her hands, saying, "I haven’t really thought about long-term or not. When it cos to feelings, if you aim for longevity, it can add a lot of burden and make you anxious. Only a lighthearted and harmonious relationship can extend the good tis in romance. So, my idea is to enjoy the process happily and delight in the physical aspect. How long it lasts is up to ti."

"You live more freely than I do," Chen Ningxi had always thought this.

"And you? Any thoughts after getting the marriage certificate?" Liang Lei picked up a pair of chopsticks and pretended it was a microphone, asking Chen Ningxi, "Please share the perks of getting married."

Chen Ningxi paused; when it ca to benefits, she couldn’t think of any right away, but having fun might be one.

"Being with him is pretty interesting."

Liang Lei scoffed, "Sister, if you want sothing interesting, the Youle Club has plenty of n in every style you could imagine. From domineering CEOs, sincere sweethearts, to rebellious rappers, sunny athletes, and wild gentlen, you can have as much fun as you desire. Is getting married for the thrill of it? You need to ntion so specific and unique advantages."

Specific and unique!

Chen Ningxi said, "I’m off work; don’t make think about such tough questions, okay?"

Liang Lei laughed, "See, you couldn’t answer, could you? With just this one question, I have defeated 99% of the married population in the country. I have yet to hear anyone explain the benefits of marriage thoroughly enough to convince ."

Chen Ningxi knew she was a DINK (dual inco, no kids), so even if she found soone she liked and got married, she wouldn’t have children.

Her views on marriage naturally differed from the average person’s, but as for the benefits, Chen Ningxi couldn’t co up with specific or unique answers either.

"Alright, I won’t give you a hard ti anymore," Liang Lei picked up a big bone piece for her, "Let’s finish eating and go shopping to digest."

They left the restaurant and headed to Wanda; after a round of shopping, each held a cup of coffee, and Chen Ningxi had picked up an additional n’s shirt.

Liang Lei clicked her tongue in astonishnt, "See, after one round of shopping, you only bought sothing for your husband, not for yourself. How can I look forward to married life seeing this?"

Chen Ningxi smiled at her, "I did try on clothes, but the sizes I wanted weren’t available. Is that my fault? If they had my size, I would have bought sothing."

Liang Lei felt a bit disheartened about marriage seeing Chen Ningxi, "I think most won tend to only consider their partners and kids after marriage, neglecting themselves. When you ignore yourself within marriage, can you expect him to value you?"

Chen Ningxi reassured Liang Lei, "Don’t be so sensitive. I bought him the shirt because, last ti I went to his place, I saw a white shirt in his wardrobe stained with fruit or sothing that couldn’t be washed off. He often wears white shirts to work, so it’s better I buy him one than let soone else do it."

"Is that so?" Liang Lei raised an eyebrow, "Is there a little vixen trying to lure him?"

Chen Ningxi was amused, "No, there’s no such thing as a vixen; you’ve watched too many dramas, haven’t you?"

Liang Lei wasn’t one to let her best friend suffer, "If there really is one, you have to tell . Watch pluck the vixen’s tail one by one."

"The governnt even said after the founding of the country, animals aren’t allowed to beco spirits," Chen Ningxi linked arms with her, "No need to worry about , no vixens around. Besides, haven’t you seen my combat skills?"

It was true; even Guo Heming had been tad by Chen Ningxi previously, so Liang Lei let it drop.

They bought a bunch of skewers intending to watch a movie at Chen Ningxi’s place that night.

As soon as they entered, Chen Ningxi sensed sothing was off. The floor was strewn with rose petals leading all the way to the bedroom.

"Wow, what’s going on? Quite the romantic even at ho," Liang Lei remarked in awe, changing her shoes and heading further inside.

Chen Ningxi was about to call her back when she saw Cheng Qiaobei, wearing a black shirt open at the chest, a black tie hanging between chiselled abs, his pants outlining long legs, one arm propped against the door in a very suggestive stance, with a roguish and sexy expression, turning his head just as he uttered,

"Hey, baby..."

Seeing the wrong person, he swallowed the rest of the word with surprise.

Cheng Qiaobei quickly buttoned his shirt and, in a second, switched expressions, asking seriously, "What are you doing here?"

"No good stuff for others to see, huh?" Liang Lei sized up Cheng Qiaobei and looked back at Chen Ningxi, "Quite the player!"

Chen Ningxi cleared her throat, "I didn’t know you were back. Bought so barbeque to watch a movie with Liang Lei at ho."

Cheng Qiaobei raised an eyebrow, "...So should I leave?"

Liang Lei nodded, "Well...it isn’t impossible."

"Liang Lei," Cheng Qiaobei was exasperated, frowning with his arms crossed, saying, "How about I upgrade your Rock Climbing Club mbership to VIP?"

Liang Lei cupped her hands in mock gratitude, "Manager Cheng is quite generous."

She turned to leave, brushing past Chen Ningxi, saying, "Not a word out of you about these benefits."

Chen Ningxi didn’t know Cheng Qiaobei would play this kind of trick. She escorted Liang Lei to the door, "Next ti, we’ll watch a movie for sure."

Liang Lei couldn’t hold back her laughter, "Next ti? What’s the next show?"

"You better leave now," Chen Ningxi’s face felt like it was on fire.

Liang Lei waved at the man inside, "Bye-bye, Manager Cheng."

Cheng Qiaobei nodded gracefully with a smile, "Thank you."

Chen Ningxi closed the door, approached Cheng Qiaobei, and clutched his shirt in her hands, "Did you return when you called ?"

Cheng Qiaobei said, "Yes. I had planned to set up everything before you got off work, to create the right mood. Then you said you were eating out, so I didn’t rush you. Surprised?"

Chen Ningxi looked at the rose petals scattered around, "It feels quite nice." She caressed his chest, "But, you should make feel even better."

Cheng Qiaobei wrapped his arms around her waist, his eyes lowered slightly, filled with unspeakable desire.

Chen Ningxi kissed his chest, pecking softly, driving Cheng Qiaobei’s forehead veins to jump, his blood racing.

She heard the wild beating of his heart inside his chest. His greedy kisses devoured her, spinning her into an irresistible whirl that stripped Chen Ningxi’s soul of restraint. In this feverish passion, they both fell into the depths of desire.

As the storm passed, Chen Ningxi lay breathlessly in Cheng Qiaobei’s embrace, whispering, "How long will you be staying this ti?"

Cheng Qiaobei gently kissed her forehead, lovingly saying, "I’ll be here until the wedding."
