Chapter 1985: Extra: A Brand New Life 100 (Jiang Yue and Xue Yan) Chapter 1985: Extra: A Brand New Life 100 (Jiang Yue and Xue Yan) “Ordinary people, if given enough money, would usually keep the secret for the duration of the agreent, as they wouldn’t attempt to squeeze money from both sides, thus greatly reducing the chances of scaring them off,”

“However,” Xue Yan continued, “if we go by this plan, we’d need to finish all the DNA testing, and ideally clear up the kidnapping within the one month or half month period we set. So, we need to think carefully about the duration, but it shouldn’t be too long either—sothing like several years sounds too vague. A month, I think, would be better.”

Jiang Yue said, “Just by getting a hair sample, I can have the people at the research center do a paternity test imdiately; we could have the results the sa day. It’s only the kidnapping investigation that I’m not sure how long will take, but if Yu Xiao did it, she’d be nervous and likely slip up with just a little probing. A month should be sufficient, though I really think half a month would be enough, but a month is indeed safer.”

Qin Zi said, “Then let’s set the period for a month. Later, I’ll secretly et with those housemaids myself, but since I don’t have enough saved up, I’ll have to borrow quite a bit from you.”

Knowing their friend wouldn’t directly accept such help and could only ‘borrow,’ Jiang Yue and Xue Yan didn’t say anything else, just nodded, “We’ll transfer ten million Yuan to you first, use it as needed, and if it’s not enough, we’ll send more.”

Qin Zi replied, “That should be more than enough. For those housemaids, just picking up a few hairs they find while cleaning could earn them hundreds of thousands or even a million; it’ll definitely tempt them.”

“Alright,” both Jiang Yue and Xue Yan nodded again.

Then Xue Yan went off to take care of other business.

Jiang Yue and Qin Zi remained in Xue Yan’s office.

As Jiang Yue transferred ten million Yuan to Qin Zi’s bank account, she said, “Let’s handle the paternity test first to give us more peace of mind, then we can think carefully about how to probe Yu Xiao and the others, and investigate the old kidnapping case.”

Getting things organized was crucial to avoid confusion and losing the thread.

Since they had essentially agreed on their plan, Qin Zi naturally had no objections, “Hmm.”

After all, it was her own affair; she would only seek help when she truly couldn’t manage on her own. Thus, regarding eting with the cleaning staff and bribing them for the hair samples, Qin Zi didn’t involve Jiang Yue anymore, especially since Jiang Yue had other matters to attend to at the research center as well.

Yu Yaolan and Yu Xiao lived in the sa mansion, so acquiring hair samples from these two only required bribing one maid.

Yan Feiming lived in a separate villa, as did Lü i… in total, only three maids needed to be bribed.

Originally, Qin Zi planned not to spend the money on Lü i’s hair, intending to take it herself, since she isn’t very wealthy and the money was still borrowed from Jiang Yue and Xue Yan. But considering she used to see Lü i only once in a while, and had just t her that day, eting again might seem odd to Lü i. Thus, she decided it was too risky to try and collect Lü i’s hair unobserved. After so thought, she decided to also bribe Lü i’s maid.

It took a day to figure out who was cleaning for Yu Yaolan and the others and to obtain those maids’ contact information.

It took another day to choose three maids, contact them secretly, and et outside.

Naturally, the etings were held separately—eting together would have made things even stranger.
