Chapter 1812: Chapter 1812: No One Blas Her

If she had encountered a Beastman whose nature wasn’t so generous, who knows if she would even be alive right now, let alone safely cooking here, nursing her injuries, and consuming their food and residing in their shelter.

Xue Ganggang took the cleaned wild vegetables over to the stone pot which had just rendered so pork fat. She planned to fry the vegetables with it, naturally without washing the pot, but she also didn’t add too much pork fat, just enough for the amount of vegetables. Then, she began to stir-fry, with salt being the only seasoning she could add.

She even tossed a few pieces of pork crackling into the sizzling wild vegetables and, once they were cooked, she served them up in a large, full earthenware bowl.

Bai Xing was roasting at while keeping an eye on the stone pot. Seeing this, he nodded in understanding – so this was frying; he could do it too. Tomorrow, he would pass this skill on to the other Beastn in the tribe.

Without rice or wheat, Xue Ganggang finished stir-frying the vegetables and served a generous portion to Jue Jue before finding herself with nothing left to do.

Then she just sat there, watching Bai Xing roast the at while she ate wild fruits.

...

The wild fruits had also been cleaned by Bai Xing.

She didn’t know what kind of wild fruits they were, for despite it being springti in the Beast World, fruits were already ripe, red as if mature, sweet but with a hint of astringency.

There were also green wild fruits which, despite not being sweet or astringent, were eaten purely for their nutritional balance.

Bai Xing didn’t roast the at in one big chunk. Xue Ganggang had marinated the at into uniformly sized pieces beforehand, and Bai Xing skewered them for roasting. As so were already done, he, Xue Ganggang, and Jue Jue ate the roasted at, stir-fried wild vegetables, wild fruits, and pork cracklings together while he continued to roast more at.

The stir-fried wild vegetables were indeed much tastier than the usual boiled ones. The pork cracklings in the dish had softened, offering a different texture than the crispy ones – but they were all delectably delicious.

Jue Jue, the little leopard, ate without looking up.

Xue Ganggang tried the roasted at and thought it wasn’t exceptionally delicious but was much better than last night’s. If there had been a full range of seasonings, it would have been even more delicious, but sadly, many spices were simply not available, so they made do.

Out of the corner of his eye, Bai Xing noticed that Xue Ganggang’s expression finally didn’t resemble one of soone facing death as she ate a piece of at like last night, so he stopped paying her further attention.

As Xue Ganggang ate, she also helped roast the at.

Jue Jue was still too young to be of much help, so he just kept eating until his little belly was round and then he went ho.

Bai Xing didn’t ask Xue Ganggang to clean up; he washed everything like the stone pot and earthenware bowls by himself.

Watching Bai Xing squatting at the cave entrance cleaning pots, with his back to her, and thinking about how earlier in the morning the commotion she caused had led to several lions causing such a scene that the Beastn Legion had to mobilize with Hei Xun even getting injured, yet not a single Beastman in the tribe blad her. To be honest, she felt the other Beastn in the tribe were quite nice. Considering how primitive the tribe was, Xue Ganggang felt sowhat compelled to help them out.

Moreover, she thought it wasn’t right to just eat, drink, and live for free.

Therefore, Xue Ganggang spoke up, “Bai Xing, tomorrow could you take around your tribe’s territory? I want to see if there’s anything that could be of use to your tribe, sothing that this world might not have discovered yet.”

Knowing she was a Pure Human, and it seed she wasn’t from this world, that greatly increased the chances that she knew more than anyone else in this world. Observing her frying vegetables and rendering fat also gave a hint…
