Conscience magpies, huh!

These rewards are pretty generous.

Han Qiwu quickly analyzed the five rewards.

The first reward, although it seed sincere by refunding double his earlier expenditure, was only 12,000 gold. Choosing it would be ridiculous. Pass.

The second reward increased skill levels. Practical, but not urgent. Pending.

The third reward was actually quite decent. Considering the number of cash crops in Han Qiwu’s yard, a 50% yield boost would bring in at least tens of thousands of gold. Pending.

The fourth reward? Now that one imdiately caught his eye.

A sapling of the Lightning-Struck Tree. He didn’t know its special effects, but you couldn’t find it in the outside world.

Rarity equals value.

Except for porridge.

As for the extra reward, Han Qiwu took one glance and decided to choose it.

His house already had creatures that swam in the water, ran on land, and burrowed underground. All it lacked was sothing that flew in the sky.

And it was a mutated baby Thunder Magpie.

Pick that one!

Within the last two seconds of the ten-second countdown, Han Qiwu selected rewards four and the extra reward.

[You received Lightning-Struck Tree Saplings ×5]

[Lightning-Struck Tree Saplings]

[Usage: Planting/Materials]

[Growth Period: 15 days]

[Special Effect - Lightning Attraction: The trunk of the Lightning-Struck Tree can be used to craft lightning-based equipnt, adding an extra 20% lightning damage]

[Special Effect - Malice Suppression: The tree reduces the likelihood of harmful mutations in livestock within a 10×10 area while increasing the likelihood of beneficial mutations]

[Special Effect - Incubation: A small chance to produce a Lightning-Struck Tree Core, which grants lightning-based skills when consud]

[Note: Not every tree hit by lightning can be called a Lightning-Struck Tree.]

The saplings in his bag looked pitch-black, unimpressive at first glance.

But their attributes greatly satisfied Han Qiwu.

The Lightning Attraction effect ant that in half a month, he could start using the trees to craft equipnt.

Lightning: terrifying when encountered, thrilling when wielded.

The Malice Suppression effect was equally useful. Han Qiwu didn’t want to deal with any bizarrely mutated livestock on his farm.

As for the Incubation effect, Han Qiwu wasn’t holding his breath.

After all, he only had five saplings.

No need to overthink it.

After stashing away the saplings, Han Qiwu heard the fluttering sound of wings.

Looking up, he saw a pair of magpies carrying a pitch-black baby magpie to him.

"Well, sorry to trouble you to deliver it personally." Han Qiwu chuckled and extended his hand, taking the tiny, featherless mutated Thunder Magpie chick. Being a hatchling, it had hardly any feathers, was bare-skinned, and was only as big as the palm of his hand.

The mont it stood on Han Qiwu’s palm, it opened its little red beak and started squawking for food.

"This is a bit tricky. Where am I going to find bugs for it?"

Just as Han Qiwu was about to ask the magpie pair, they turned tail and flew back to their nest the second he took the chick.

Han Qiwu: "... You guys really trust , huh."

After thinking it over, Han Qiwu ca up with an idea. He took out so Roadblock Bug at and Stink Bug at that he had initially set aside as bait, putting a small piece gently near the Thunder Magpie chick’s beak.

"Nom nom."

The at was quickly gobbled down.

"Seems like it’ll do." Han Qiwu breathed a sigh of relief and gently patted the little bird’s head.

[Mutated Thunder Magpie Chick: Strong combat capability, carnivorous, capable of releasing lightning, resilient]

[Please na your pet. After naming, you can view its specific attributes.]

"Since it can discharge electricity, let’s call it Little Spark."

[Little Spark successfully nad]

[Farm Pet/Combat Pet: Little Spark]

[In infancy: Farm Pet; From growth stage onward: Dual-purpose pet for farming and combat]

[Quality: ☆☆☆☆]

[Stage: Infancy]

[Type: Male Thunder Magpie]

[Fullness: 70]

[Basic Skills: Discharge (Learned); Lightning Flicker (To Be Learned); Thunder Shadow (To Be Learned); Lightning Burst (To Be Learned); Tens of Thousands of Volts (To Be Learned)]

[Preferences: Flying, fighting, nest-building]

[Remark: Lightning-based materials can help it learn more skills]

Little Spark’s attributes were far more lavish than Little Shui’s.

A dual-type pet with four-star quality and five major skills!

The 6,000 gold was definitely worth it.

Getting struck by lightning really paid off.

Satisfying!

Placing Little Spark on his shoulder, Han Qiwu cheerfully prepared to head back to the entrance.

Even though there were still several hours left to linger, he preferred to head back early.

Getting stuck in here would be a disaster.

Because he had plenty of ti, Han Qiwu didn’t rush, taking his ti while collecting coal and charcoal scattered on the ground.

Half an hour later, he reached the forest’s entrance. Ten ters ahead stood the old tree that served as the gateway in and out.

"Ka-boom!"

Thunder roared in the sky, followed by dazzling lightning flashes.

"Maybe heading back for a nap sounds good. Honestly, I’m feeling a little sleepy." Han Qiwu muttered as he walked toward the old tree.

"Whoosh, whoosh~"

Suddenly, the sound of flowing water caught his attention.

"Can you fish here?" Han Qiwu imdiately perked up.

If he could fish, he wouldn’t feel sleepy anymore.

Following the sound of water, he walked for three to four minutes before arriving at a wide river.

The river spanned a good 40 to 50 ters across, and several birds Han Qiwu couldn’t identify were flying overhead.

Erring on the side of caution, Han Qiwu observed the riverbank for a few minutes.

Sure enough, this river was very different from those outside. The biggest difference? It was electrified.

It was unclear whether this was due to the secret realm itself or electrifying creatures in the water.

Moreover, the current electricity wasn’t weak. If a wave splashed up, you’d even see sparks and hear sizzling sounds.

That said, the birds overhead and the fish in the water seed accustod to it. The birds continued eating, the fish carried on swimming.

They might be used to it, but Han Qiwu wasn’t.

"Good thing my Red Sun rod is wooden. If it were copper, I’d be fried." Han Qiwu pulled out his fire bucket, sat down, and patiently baited his hook to try fishing for a while.

"Whoosh~"

Little Spark, perched on his shoulder, got excited the mont it saw the fire bucket, chirping incessantly and trying to squeeze into one of the bucket’s compartnts. It was clearly eager to have a go.

"Little Spark, let’s be clear here. You can go in, but stay far from the fire. I don’t want to see a roasted magpie." Han Qiwu said with a serious face.

"Chirp chirp!"

Little Spark nodded quickly before hopping into the fire bucket and finding a cozy spot near the fire pit, where it lay contentedly.

"You really know how to enjoy life." Han Qiwu sighed, standing beside the bucket as he prepared to cast his line.

He didn’t dare sit on the fire bucket himself. If he moved too abruptly and accidentally tossed Little Spark into the fire pit, it’d be a disaster.

It was already black enough—roasting it would just make it even blacker.

He couldn’t possibly rena it Little Charcoal, could he?
