After making up his mind, Han Qiwu first turned all the materials he got today into bait, carefully sorting them into different categories in the storage slots.

pieces of normal quality, 12 pieces of silver-star quality, and 3 pieces of gold-star quality.

Let’s fish!

Just as he was about to start fishing, out of the corner of his eye, Han Qiwu suddenly noticed a patch of soil by the riverbank that could be tilled.

Better dig the ground first.

Switching to his hoe, Han Qiwu diligently tilled all 24 patches of soil and had a decent harvest, uncovering two new types of plants:

[Wild Kudzu Root]

[Stamina 50]

[HP -20]

[Note: Kudzu root is best not eaten raw]

[Wild Yam]

[Stamina 60]

[HP 80]

[Note: The peddler and his pig both love this plant]

He dug up six pieces of wild kudzu root and four pieces of wild yam. Both types of plants were long and thick, looking quite appetizing.

"I’ll keep the kudzu root to cook and eat myself, and the wild yam can be given to the peddler to boost affection points," Han Qiwu decided with a clear plan.

Back to fishing.

Sitting by the riverbank, Han Qiwu first carefully observed the fish shadows in the underground river.

One minute later.

Hmm, saw nothing.

It’s too dark.

Let’s just fish directly.

Han Qiwu dramatically tossed the fishing hook with a flair.

Half a minute later, the fishing mini-ga appeared.

To be honest, after being stimulated by that big fish earlier in the morning, Han Qiwu found the small fish icon now particularly pleasing to the eye.

The first 20 seconds of fishing went smoothly.

As he continued fishing, Han Qiwu suddenly saw a blue flash coming from the tail of the small fish. The blue light hit the float, and the float instantly froze.

[Your float was hit by the White Fish’s freezing attack, unable to move for three seconds]

What the hell?

Han Qiwu always thought only players had skills. Who knew the fish in the fishing ga had skills too?

This just got annoying.

Before the three seconds were up, the White Fish managed to escape.

[Too bad, the fish got away]

Seeing this system ssage, Han Qiwu decisively packed up his fishing rod, grabbed the Thorned Plank, and took the cable car back down from the 40th floor.

After experiencing two failed fishing attempts, Han Qiwu understood exactly what the problem was.

The two spiders on the 39th floor were essentially the gatekeeper bosses. Under normal circumstances, with an average skill level below three, there was no way Han Qiwu could defeat those two spiders to proceed to the 40th floor, let alone encounter the White Fish.

On the other hand, if Han Qiwu raised his average skill level to around five and obtained a class, then fishing or exploring the mineshaft would beco much easier.

The buffs from food were ultimately external forces; true strength must co from within!

Han Qiwu already felt quite content with today’s progress.

Wouldn’t it be better to use this bait to fish for Rockfish on the 20th floor of the mineshaft?

Rockfish Stew would taste so good!

Adjusting his mindset, Han Qiwu clumsily balanced the Thorned Plank across the footboard of his electric scooter and headed straight to the grove of osmanthus trees.

Ti to chop wood!

...

1:20 PM

Han Qiwu sat in a shop, sweating profusely as he devoured spicy dumplings.

This was an old store. The dumplings were large, had plenty of filling, and were intensely spicy—an absolutely satisfying al.

After filling up, Han Qiwu carried the Thorned Plank on his scooter and drove to the blacksmith’s shop.

"Master Shuzi! Help out here!" Han Qiwu knocked on the door and reluctantly asked for assistance.

There was no way he could carry the Thorned Plank horizontally into the blacksmith’s shop on his own.

Master Shuzi frowned as he stepped out. With a single glance, he identified the problem with the Thorned Plank and effortlessly carried it into the forge with one hand.

One-handed, mind you!

Han Qiwu was exceedingly envious of Master Shuzi’s strength. What a waste to not use that strength to crank a hand tractor.

Kind of like having long legs but not using them to pedal a tricycle—such a waste!

Inside the shop, Han Qiwu took out two of each type of crystal and gifted them to Master Shuzi.

"Well, kid, I’m impressed you keep your word." Master Shuzi looked surprised. He thought Han Qiwu was just joking last ti and didn’t expect him to bring more gifts for real.

"Of course! It’s my honor to give crystals to you, Master, for your research," Han Qiwu said with a cheeky grin. "By the way, Master, can those four venomous fangs be left on the Thorned Plank to create a poison-stinger attack?"

"You really have a lot of ideas, don’t you?" Master Shuzi stroked his beard, pondering. "It can be done, but it’ll cost you a 300-gold processing fee. Plus, you’ll have to regularly refill the venom."

"No problem!" Han Qiwu’s eyes lit up, and he quickly agreed.

gold? Pocket change!

As for the venom refills, he already had so from the spiders he defeated earlier.

Honestly, the spiders in the mineshaft had a comndable spirit of contribution!

Not only did they drop fangs but venom too.

After paying the 300 gold, Master Shuzi went into the forge and got to work.

Outside, Han Qiwu wasn’t idle either. He opened the trading interface and sold all the crystals and gemstones he mined earlier.

A total of 1,934 gold earned.

Not bad.

After selling the crystals, Han Qiwu excitedly opened the exclusive Master Shuzi crafting nu and selected the Spider Puppet.

[Spider Puppet]

[Materials: Wood (520/500), Spider Remains (1/1), Gold (3497/1000)]

[Hidden Materials: Spider Silk Roll (10/10)]

[Energy Source: Solar]

[Functions: Foraging/Combat]

[Note: The Spider Puppet has endless uses]

Opening the interface, Han Qiwu noticed an option he hadn’t seen before.

Hidden materials? Ten rolls of spider silk?

Turns out, crafting also required hidden materials?

Thankfully, Han Qiwu had gone to the mineshaft today and obtained five new spider silk rolls. Adding those to the five rolls he had previously collected, he t the requirent perfectly.

Otherwise, there’d be no way to include these spider silk rolls in the Spider Puppet this ti.

[Materials sufficient. Proceed with crafting?]

"Yes."

After confirming the selection, Master Shuzi erged from the forge at just the right ti.

"You’re a lucky kid! To stumble upon opportunities like this," Master Shuzi said with a smile. "The Spider Puppet will take five to six hours to craft. Co back tonight to pick it up."

"Thank you, Master." Han Qiwu nodded, his attention shifting to the newly enhanced Thorned Plank.

[Paralyzing Thorns]

[Crafted by: Han Qiwu, Master Shuzi]

[Effect: Blocks impact and counters with venom injections, causing a paralysis effect of 1.5 seconds on enemies when counter-attack damage is dealt.]

[Venom remaining: 20/20 uses]

[Attribute: Speed -5]

[Note: The paralysis effect is very powerful.]

Seeing the new attributes, Han Qiwu couldn’t help but marvel—spiders were truly incredible, adding such a strong control effect to crafted items.

Spiders are aweso.

Co to think of it, Tang San probably felt the sa way too.
