Chapter 116: Chapter 117 Do You Believe I Can Split You in Half_1

Mrs. Ji was suddenly at a loss, “What are you talking about? What does this have to do with Qiao Muniang?”

Qiao Lianhua angrily pounded the bed, “It was her who saw everything, and she said she wouldn’t tell anyone. I really shouldn’t have trusted her!”

Having said this, she hurriedly put on her clothes, not caring to wash up, and stord off to Muniang’s house with anger rising rapidly.

Mrs. Ji also understood the gist of it; it was this little wretch’s doing again. Her own daughter’s pure reputation was thus ruined. Her anger was not much less intense than Qiao Lianhua’s, and she imdiately followed, determined to tear apart Qiao Muniang’s gossipy mouth!

The Muniang family lived in a remote area; it was hard for the village rumors to reach them, so they were unaware of the scandal surrounding Qiao Lianhua and were just having breakfast.

Outside the house, Qiao Lianhua’s shrill voice could be heard.

“Qiao Muniang, co out here! You deceitful gossip, why has lightning not struck you dead? If I had known it would co to this, I should have forced you to take a deadly oath yesterday. How are you not afraid of getting sores in your mouth that rot away!”

Muniang frowned; their house was not like that small dilapidated thatched hut from before. The front yard was much larger now, and for Qiao Lianhua to be heard shouting from outside the yard, carrying her voice over such a distance, her vocal ability must be hereditary.

“What’s going on?”

Hong Luo went out to take a peek and reported, “To answer Lady’s question, the gatekeeper said Mrs. Ji and her daughter are causing a scene at the gate. I don’t know what it’s about, but they’re insisting that you co out, and the things they’re saying are quite unpleasant.”

Mrs. Lin’s face turned sour abruptly, “Muniang, what have you done to offend them? Why are they making such a scene at our house?”

Muniang reassured her, “When would I have had the ti to provoke her? Mad dogs bite anyone they see, and who knows what kind of madness has struck them now; don’t worry, I’ll go and have a look.” Although she did not take these two seriously, such a commotion was embarrassing, and while they might not care for their own reputation, she did.

“Just don’t be rash, it might just be a misunderstanding. Don’t offend people too much, or else—” Mrs. Lin was also worried about her daughter being bullied. With her weak body, she couldn’t do much to help, and no matter how strong her daughter was, she was still a woman; it would be hard to fight against several attackers. She was genuinely afraid that her daughter wouldn’t be able to handle them.

“Mother, don’t worry. I’m not that foolish. When have you ever seen your daughter suffer at their hands? Besides, we have so many servants here, there’s no way they can bully us.”

Saying this, Muniang got up, instructed Hong Luo to take good care of Mrs. Lin, and went out.

Mrs. Lin thought of the several servants they had recently hired, who were n after all, and she felt relieved, less worried.

As for her husband Haoli, he wouldn’t let Muniang face this alone. He hadn’t said much at first, but as soon as he saw Muniang rise to go out, he imdiately followed; if anyone dared to bully his wife, he would throw them to the wolves on the mountain!

“Qiao Muniang, co out here! Don’t think you can easily get away with hiding from

today. You’ve made

lose face, and I won’t let you off easily. I’ll blow this up and let everyone see for themselves what kind of person you are. I’ll see if you can continue to live in Tupo Village!”

Qiao Lianhua was clearly furious, her insults now carrying a bit of Mrs. Ji’s deanor, entirely lacking her usual refinent.

“Whether I can stay or not is none of your business, but so blind mad dogs without anything better to do, co yapping at people’s doors, bringing disgrace upon themselves! Why are you here again? Shouldn’t a young lady have so sense of sha?”

The gate was flung open with a “whoosh,” and Muniang walked out with a frosty look on her face.

Qiao Lianhua was livid, “My reputation? Wasn’t my reputation completely ruined by your insidious antics? And now you have the nerve to talk to

about face? Why doesn’t the heaven strike you down, you gossipmonger!”

Er Liang shouted with a dark face, “Don’t you believe I can strike you dead!”

Qiao Lianhua was startled; she was indeed a little afraid of Er Liang and took several steps back, even Mrs. Ji’s face turned pale.

Muniang, impatient, said, “What are you trying to say? Speak clearly or get lost. If you continue to cause a fuss, I’ll have you thrown out directly. I’m not in a good mood right now.”

Qiao Lianhua’s eyes reddened, “You clearly promised

yesterday that you wouldn’t spread the word, and now you deliberately let the whole village know. How can you be so malicious!”

Upon hearing this, Muniang was stunned. What was she talking about? She then rembered it was about Qiao Lianhua trying to seduce Wu Haoli, sothing she had completely forgotten.

“I didn’t tell anyone,” Muniang said.

“Pah!” Mrs. Ji cursed, “If not you, then who? Lianhua said, you were the one who saw it yesterday, and now you won’t admit it. You want to act virtuous after playing the harlot.”

Muniang gave Mrs. Ji a piercing look, “I said I didn’t tell anyone, and I didn’t. I don’t have to explain myself to you. If you don’t want anyone to know, don’t do it. You did sothing shaful and now you’re afraid of people talking? Who really is the harlot here? Why is it my concern that everyone in the village knows? Are you trying to bla your own misdeeds on ?”

Qiao Lianhua’s face turned beet red, “I know you did it just because you can’t stand , so you used this to get back at . Now that my reputation is ruined because of you, I definitely won’t let you off easily!”

Muniang was fed up with the lack of intelligence of mother and daughter. Their minds just couldn’t wrap around the fact that it wasn’t her fault. She was too lazy to argue with such people and directly ordered the servant behind her:

“If these two make a scene again, throw them out! Bring over those thick fire sticks from the backyard. Choose the thickest ones. If they don’t leave, beat them. After all, this is our territory. Even if they take it to the officials, we can charge them for trespassing into a private property!”

There was no more reliable way to deal with such brainless, troubleso people than with force.

Muniang instructed the servant with these words, which was also a warning to Mrs. Ji and her daughter. After she finished speaking, she twisted her body and went inside.

Mrs. Ji and Qiao Lianhua were not willing to let her off so easily and continued to curse and cause a commotion at the gate. The servant could not drive them away, so he really brought over the firewood sticks as thick as arms and, swinging them, charged at them. Mrs. Ji scread and imdiately pulled her daughter away to escape, not daring to create a fuss anymore in the face of the hostile servant, and left in a huff.

A good na is the most important thing for a young lady. Muniang ruined Qiao Lianhua’s reputation, and she was determined not to let Muniang get away with it. Qiao Lianhua’s sinister eyes glanced at Muniang’s mansion, planting a seed of hatred in her heart.

Muniang thought this would be the end of it, but little did she know it was the beginning of a significant disaster.
