Fan ijiao, who was dead set on pushing Mo Yan into the fire pit, learned in the evening when Mr. Zhao returned ho that Mo Yan had been granted marriage by Imperial Edict. Unable to bear such a provocation, she actually fainted from anger.

After waking up, Fan ijiao, regardless of the maids’ earnest persuasion, kept pounding on the bed and crying. She simply couldn’t accept that soone she despised had been granted marriage by The Emperor, and the man she was to marry was of the highest quality—handso, with a bright future and an excellent family background. The thought of having to bow and pay respects to her when they t outside was more painful to her than a stab wound.

Even though the maids around her flattered her by saying she would soon marry into the Mu Family and beco Lady Gui, it didn’t cheer her up.

Fan ijiao ranted and raved in the room, cursing that Mo Yan would not receive respect from her husband’s family or love from her husband. She also cursed Granny Zhao, who had married into the Cui family, blaming her for her ineffective work—if she had tily recomnded Mo Yan to the Cui family’s sickly son, there would be no subsequent Imperial Edict concerning marriage.

The more Fan ijiao thought about it, the more hatred she felt in her heart. She knew that if she did not avenge the humiliation suffered at the teahouse, she would have no opportunity in the future. After much thought, she finally ca up with a good plan to retaliate against Mo Yan and dismissed all the maids, leaving only her trusted maid. She then whispered her instructions into the maid’s ear.

Seeing that she had finished instructing and the maid still had not left, Fan ijiao twisted her trusted maid’s arm harshly, berating loudly, "What are you staring blankly for, go and do as I told you this instant?"

The trusted maid showed a pained expression but didn’t dare to pull away, only whispering softly in defense, "Miss, Hejia, oh no, that vile woman is after all a County Lord. If soone abducts her from her ho, even if her reputation is ruined, the Governnt might still hold the abductors accountable. What should we do if they trace it back to us?"

Hearing this, Fan ijiao stretched out her hand and twisted the maid’s arm even more viciously, speaking coldly, "Can’t you cover your face when you go to find people? As long as they have never seen your true face, even if they catch you, can they be sure it’s you?"

"Miss is so clever, how could I not have thought of that!" The maid instinctively took two steps back with her bruised arm, flattering with submission, "I will go and do it right away, I will certainly not let those people recognize ."

Fan ijiao nodded in satisfaction, a sinister smile appearing on her face: "This ti, I want to see how that vile wretch will turn things around."

Seeing her mistress’s ghastly and frightening deanor, the trusted maid shivered violently. She was very reluctant to follow her mistress’s arrangent, feeling that once she did what she was told, her life would be over.

But she was just a lowly maid, unable to resist her mistress’s orders. Even if she knew there was a chasm before her, she had to jump down without hesitation at her mistress’s command.

Fan ijiao was oblivious to the fear in the maid’s heart, wholly engrossed in the thought of how miserable the person she loathed would be after her sche succeeded.

She hoped that the vile wretch’s reputation would be utterly destroyed, prompting The Emperor to retract the marriage decree. Even if "the word of a monarch is not to be taken back," she wanted that vile woman to marry into the Hou Mansion with a tainted na and see how she would find a place for herself there.

In comparison, there was no deep hatred between Fan ijiao and Mo Yan; there was truly no need for such vicious actions. But every ti Fan ijiao thought of Mo Yan, she felt an unbearable scratching at her heart, always feeling that Mo Yan would destroy her hard-earned happiness, involuntarily giving rise to an impulse to destroy Mo Yan.

Neither the mistress nor the maid could have anticipated that their malevolent conversation would be overheard by a third party, which sealed the fate of their conspiracy’s failure.
