Refusing Xue tuanzi’s help, Mo Yan took a bamboo basket and started picking fruit in the orchard. Compared to the small patch before the upgrade, the orchard had expanded to over fifty acres after the upgrade, thanks to Xue tuanzi’s efforts. Additionally, ti flowed much faster in the space, almost a year for each day outside, fortunately, the fruit trees wouldn’t fruit ceaselessly unless the fruits were picked. Otherwise, the space would have been piled up into mountains of fruit by now, which would have been a real nuisance.

Now, the space had been orderly divided by Xue tuanzi’s barriers into several sections: the orchard, the grain fields, the dicinal herb garden, the breeding grounds, and storage "warehouses", among others. In short, there was no longer any worry about the fruit trees growing uncontrolled roots that spread everywhere, dicinal herbs crossing borders into the grain fields, or the fard animals running wild in the space, stepping in their own dung as soon as they entered.

Except for the empty breeding grounds which were not being used, all other areas were brimming with vitality, and the sight of the mountains of grains, fruits, and dicinal herbs in the "warehouse" brought joy. Nevertheless, hoarding such quantities without using them was wasteful, so Mo Yan planned to make use of these items in reality when the opportunity arose.

After picking a basket full of her favorite fruits, Mo Yan sat down and started munching away with a crunch. Seeing her joy, Xue tuanzi also happily summoned a pile of fruit from the warehouse, threatening the five beasts to devour it all, or it would poke holes in whoever lagged behind, and not the kind infused with spiritual energy.

The five beasts looked gloomily at Mo Yan and then glared resentfully at Xue tuanzi, unwillingly starting to eat. Heaven knows, since the day they were tad, they were not allowed to eat at. If it weren’t for all kinds of fruits, it would be the even more unpalatable dicinal herbs. After twenty years (or twenty days outside), they had craved at so much they almost wanted to gnaw on their own paws (snake tails)!

"Haha—" Upon receiving the pitiful glances from the five beasts, Mo Yan unkindly burst into laughter. After they finished off the pile of fruit, she said, "From now on, you guys stay in the space during the day and sleep outside at night. The house may not be very peaceful lately, and I’ll need you guys to keep watch."

The five beasts’ spirits instantly lifted, and they simultaneously turned to look at Xue tuanzi perched on Mo Yan’s shoulder.

They liked being in the space, but they preferred going outside to eat at even more. As long as they could go out, they could indulge themselves. Whatever at they wanted to eat, they could have—a truly joyous occasion in the life of a beast! But without this creature’s permission, even if Yanyan herself gave the word, they couldn’t leave the space.

Xue tuanzi looked at the five drooling beasts with disdain in its eyes, and disdainfully said, "If you want to leave, scram quickly. But if you fail to protect Yanyan well, beware, I’ll skin you alive!"

Knowing that this creature’s words were not to be taken lightly, the five beasts shuddered subconsciously and vowed in their hearts to protect Yanyan well, to protect their "clothing". They certainly did not have a hobby of streaking.

Watching the five beasts roll around happily in the cramped little house outside after leaving the space with Mo Yan, Xue tuanzi stood guard over the silent space, a deep loneliness surfacing in its round eyes...

The night was deep, at Jingshan Villa.

Xiao Ruiyuan received a ssage from the Hidden Guard in Liu Yang Village while he was accompanying Chu Heng to play chess. His expression gradually darkened as he read the note, a heavy killing intent flickering in his eyes.

Seeing this, Chu Heng, who was sitting across from him, put down the chess piece and asked with concern, "Is there sothing wrong with Miss Mo?"

After twenty days of careful nurturing, Chu Heng’s figure was still thin, but his face had gained so color, losing the sickly pallor of severe illness. His spirit seed completely transford, filled with the vigorous energy that a young man should have.

Xiao Ruiyuan nodded and decided to hand over the note to Chu Heng, hesitating slightly, "Chen Ji... is the current husband of Yanyan’s biological mother."

As one of the culprits who poisoned the Pure Empress, how could Chu Heng not know of Chen Ji? Upon hearing his cousin’s words, he frowned. He quickly read through the content of the note and, upon seeing that Mo Yan had actually broken Chen Ji’s knee with a kick, a look of astonishnt appeared on his face: Could such a seemingly fragile girl really do such a thing?

Xiao Ruiyuan thought Chu Heng was surprised by the relationship between Mo Yan and Chen Ji and voiced his own confusion, "Why didn’t cousin remove Chen Ji back then, knowing the evil he had done, and avenge our aunt?"

Upon hearing this, Chu Heng put the note on the table and pushed it towards Xiao Ruiyuan, "Father’s hatred for the Lin Family is no less than mine. He has been biding his ti; there must be matters we’re unaware of. Before we find out the truth, acting against Chen Ji might alert the enemy prematurely. Perhaps we can start with Chen Ji to uncover so clues."

Xiao Ruiyuan suddenly realized and nodded, "Chen Ji ca from the countryside, and all this ti he achieved nothing significant. But not long after he entered Jing City, he caught the eye of the Lin Family. There must be secrets we don’t yet understand."

Chu Heng sneered, a deep hatred flashing in his eyes, "Otherwise, why would I have kept him alive till now?"

Xiao Ruiyuan felt heavy-hearted and involuntarily spoke up, distancing the beloved girl from these tangled matters, "Yanyan was not even seven when her mother left her. She hasn’t visited for many years, and even though she knew Yanyan’s family was in Jing City, she never inquired about them. Chen Ji’s actions have no relation to their family. Cousin, you..."

Halfway through his speech, Xiao Ruiyuan saw the amused smile on his cousin’s face and felt his ears turn red. He suddenly couldn’t continue...
