Before long, Wu’s mother and daughter, who had set up a stall, returned. Upon learning that a distinguished guest had arrived at the Mo Family, and that Mo Yan was hosting in the backyard beneath the vines, they did not go over to disturb them.
At the mont, Lixiu finished boiling a pot of water and planned to take it to the backyard to prepare tea for Mo Yan and the others. But suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her abdon and needed to use the toilet, so she hurriedly asked Dani to help deliver the tea while she rushed to the outhouse with so toilet paper.
Dani naturally did not decline the request. She placed the teapot onto the tray and carried it off to the backyard. Before she approached, a bewitching male voice spilled out from beneath the vines, soft as a feather grazing her ears, and she suddenly felt a ticklish sensation.
Dani felt a mysterious warmth rise in her cheeks, and her palms began to sweat lightly. She shook her head fiercely, steadied herself, and walked toward the vines.
As she drew near, she was t with a smile she would never forget in her life. The devilishly handso smile seed to carry a poison, captivating her so completely she couldn’t look away.
Thump-thump! Thump-thump!
Dani struggled to suppress the unfamiliar throbbing in her chest, but she couldn’t stop her heart from racing. She suddenly took a step forward, not noticing the overgrown vine at her feet, and stumbled. She lunged forward, and the scalding water from the tray headed straight for Yan Junyu’s face.
"Be careful!" Mo Yan exclaid in alarm, leaping up from his chair in an attempt to prevent the mishap, but it was too late.
At that mont, Yan Junyu, who had been toying with Little Flower’s ear, moved. He dodged the flying teapot in an unbelievable posture and, in the sa instant, managed to catch Dani who was about to fall to the ground.
It was fortunate he did, for if Dani had crashed down like that, she would surely have struck her forehead against the stone table. At best, she would have suffered a bleeding wound; at worst, she would have been left with a scar marring her face. For a girl in the pri of her youth, disfigurent was a devastation to her future.
Seeing this, Mo Yan quickly rushed to check on both of them and, finding them unhard, his anxious heart finally settled.
Noticing Mo Yan’s worried expression, Yan Junyu let go of Dani’s wrist and said with smug pride, "With the Lord here, did you really think anything would go wrong?"
Mo Yan rolled her eyes inwardly, but she humored him with flattering words, "Young Master Yan’s agility is exceptional. It was just who got too scared and overreacted."
Listeing to her insincere words, Yan Junyu shook his head, slightly deflated, and sat down again. He touched Little Flower’s sleek fur and not finding any dampness, he knew it had dodged in ti and hadn’t been scalded. He then resud playing with the animal’s most sensitive part, its tail.
Little Flower promptly gave him a severe swat with its tail, and when he reached out again, it swatted once more. Touch, swat... touch, swat... man and beast, thoroughly enjoying themselves!
"Yanyan, I’m so sorry, really sorry. I almost scalded the guest..." Dani, holding her sowhat hot wrist, kept apologizing to Mo Yan. Her face was blushing deeply, half from guilt and half from embarrassnt.
It was an accident, and Mo Yan couldn’t bla her: "It’s my fault for not clearing these vines. How can I bla Big Sister Dani? Thank goodness you’re alright or I would have been overwheld with guilt!"
Dani shook her head quickly, pushing the bla onto herself, and then carefully apologized to Yan Junyu in a voice as low as a mosquito’s, "Young sir, it was my crude mistake that almost caused you harm. Please do not take offense, and thank you for your heroic rescue!"
Yan Junyu, engrossed in playing with Little Flower, waved his hand nonchalantly, "It was nothing but a triffle, and I don’t bla you. There’s no need for self-reproach!"
Not expecting this extraordinary and elegant guest to speak to her, Dani’s cheeks beca even redder. She stole a quick glance at Yan Junyu and then quickly looked down again, her heartbeat accelerating so fiercely it seed as if it would burst forth at any mont.
