So she was Tang Xin!

Mo Yan suddenly realized and shifted her gaze back onto the little girl. Although she knew that Xin Er had made a new little sister, she had never t her before. Unexpectedly, their first encounter found the girl in such a pitiable state. Coupled with the gossip Yanzi had ntioned a few days ago and Xin Er’s later words, the girl’s stepmother must be a shaless brute.

Now, she had run to their house covered in bruises, evidently seeking refuge after being unable to endure the beatings. But if the problem wasn’t solved at its root, she would continue to endure inhuman abuse...

Seeing her good sister hanging her head in silence, Xin Er beca terribly anxious. Unable to restrain herself, she reached out to grab Tang Xin’s hand and was shocked by its iciness. She realized that Tang Xin was poorly dressed and blurted out in distress, "It’s so cold, how can you not even wear a padded jacket? What if you freeze?"

As she spoke, Xin Er quickly took off her own fur coat to put on Tang Xin.

At that mont, Tang Xin finally reacted, but she pushed away Xin Er’s hand, moved to stand before Mo Qingze, and with a "thump", she knelt straight on the cold ground: "I beg Mr. Mo to save !"

Her kneeling shocked everyone in the Mo Family, and her plea for help struck everyone’s hearts, profoundly saddening them!

Only then did everyone get a clear look at Tang Xin’s face, each person’s eyes widening in shock. The youngest, Yun Sheng, was so frightened that she buried her head into her brother’s embrace, her little body trembling, clearly scared.

Tang Xin’s face was swollen, red mixed with purples and blues, finger marks deeply etched into her flesh. Her eyes were squinted to slits, and streaks of blood seeped from the corners of her mouth, looking more terrifying than a demon from a picture book!

"How did you end up like this!" Mo Qingze, who was closest to Tang Xin, was most shocked and couldn’t help but gasp in horror.

Regaining her composure, Xin Er’s eyes reddened. She rushed forward, knelt beside Tang Xin, and pleaded with her father, "Dad, please help Tang Xin. If she stays in the Tang Family, she will lose her life!"

Tang Xin, evidently touched that Xin Er would kneel and speak on her behalf, turned her head, giving her a watery smile.

Xin Er returned the smile, comforting her with her gaze.

Mo Qingze frowned and, seeing the hopeful look on Tang Xin’s face, said helplessly to Xin Er, "If you want Dad to help, you need to explain the whole situation clearly first!"

Upon hearing this, Xin Er mistakenly thought that her father had agreed. She happily stood up and reached out to pull Tang Xin up, "Tang Xin, get up quickly, my dad will help you."

When Mo Qingze heard this, his brow furrowed again, but he did not refute his daughter’s words.

Tang Xin glanced at Mo Qingze cautiously and hesitated for a mont but eventually stood up. However, it was uncertain whether she lacked the strength or the beating was too severe; she staggered upon standing. Had Xin Er not supported her, she would likely have fallen to the ground.

Mo Qingze, feeling more pity, pulled a chair from behind him and placed it in front of her, gently saying, "Please sit down, young lady. Take your ti to explain your troubles, there’s no rush."

Tang Xin, both frightened and grateful, sat down awkwardly after Xin Er’s persuasion, subconsciously moving closer to the warm brazier. Catching sight of the few pieces of peanut candy left on the plate on the small table, she instinctively swallowed, but, feeling embarrassed, she quickly looked away.

The others didn’t notice, but Mo Yan, who had been observing Tang Xin closely, saw everything. She stood up, went to the kitchen with the plate, filled it with so peanut candy and a few sugar gourds, and placed it back on the little table.

Puzzled, Zhenzhen was about to ask why they brought up a large plate of candies even though they were not allowed to eat, but Mo Yan silenced her with a stern look.
