Serves you right, getting all cocky and daring to hit , and using your stinky mouth to lick Yanyan, now look at you – screwed up, haven’t you?

Aoow—what a satisfying outco!

Back at ho, Mo Yan endured her disgust, poured hot water from the copper kettle on the stove, and scrubbed her face several tis, still feeling a hint of bad breath on it. She couldn’t help but wash it three more tis before she stopped!

Stepping into the courtyard, she saw the three beasts sunbathing in a corner, licking each other’s wounds, and curled up beside them like a little hill was none other than the Red Python.

Suppressing the urge to settle accounts with them imdiately, Mo Yan went back inside to get scissors and dicine, then had the little ones hold down Little Flower, the most injured among them. Apart from its head, she snipped off all of its fur until it was completely clean.

From a formidable Snow wolf, it turned into a bald big dog, and the laughter of the little guys never ceased.

Looking at its utterly despairing expression, Mo Yan’s mood suddenly improved a lot. After saring the greenish ointnt on it, she completely gave up the thought of holding it accountable. Its appearance was just too pitiful to behold!

Dabai couldn’t escape the sa fate but fared slightly better than Little Flower, having only the injured parts trimd. Even so, Dabai shrank its neck in the cold, sympathetically looking at Little Flower, already frozen stiff.

Mao Tuan wasn’t injured, but seeing the fate of its two companions, it also curled up and glared at Mo Yan warily, afraid it couldn’t escape her scissors.

After dealing with them, Mo Yan cast her eyes on the Red Python. The python showed its submission by flicking its tongue, but coiled even tighter, afraid for the safety of its scales.

Since it didn’t seem injured, Mo Yan couldn’t be bothered to deal with it anymore and didn’t drive it away. She thought it was no wonder it was angry, being woken up from hibernation in such cold weather. Even if it wanted to, it couldn’t sleep if it was sent back to the mountains and would probably freeze to death if forcefully returned.

Mo Yan cleaned up a vacant room in the backyard, laid a thick layer of dry straw inside, and lit a brazier before letting the Red Python move in. As for food over the next few months, the responsibility was on Little Flower, who had disturbed its slumber, to go into the mountains and hunt.

The Red Python drooled over the thought of the Space – it was so nice in there, endless chicken and fruit to eat, inexhaustible Spirit Spring Water to drink, and, most importantly, it was warm and there was no risk of freezing. But with its destructive power being so trendous, it couldn’t be controlled when excited. There was no way it would be let in!

However, the ruckus they caused while fighting in the back mountains was loud enough to be heard by nearby villagers who were collecting firewood. Too scared to check alone, one went into the village to call a group of able-bodied n to accompany him up the mountain.

A group of more than a dozen saw the broken twigs and leaves, and the bloodstains on the grass, and were each scared out of their wits. Fearing that wild beasts might descend from the mountain, they hurriedly went to inform Yang Bao’s House.

Upon hearing this, Yang Bao himself got nervous and personally checked the back mountain. It wasn’t the first ti a wild beast had invaded the village to harm people and look for food. There had even been an incident where a child went to chop wood in the back mountain and never returned. At the ti, the village had only about a dozen households, and everyone searched the mountain for three days and nights without success. It wasn’t until sumr, when soone picking mushrooms found a tattered shoe in the mountains, that it was confird the child had been killed by a wild beast.

"Vil, Village Chief, what should we do now? A lot of kids go into the mountains to collect firewood!"

The villagers listened with panic in their hearts, worried they might encounter wild beasts in the mountains or that the beasts might charge into the village. After all, besides children, most households in the village also kept chickens and pigs!

"Yes, let’s co up with a suitable plan!" Yang Bao dared not be careless and quickly had each household make a trip to notify the head of the household to co to his house for a eting to discuss thods to guard against wild beasts.

The villagers hurried back to the village, and the first one to be notified was the Mo Family, which was closest to the back mountain.

With an awkward expression, Mo Qingze sent away the villager who had co to inform them and went to the backyard. He saw a few big fellows lazily basking in the sun in the corner of the wall and, with so headaches, told Mo Yan about the situation.

After Mo Yan listened, she glared fiercely at the four animals that wished they could bury their heads underground and said, "This is our family’s doing. When dad goes to the eting later, he will take the bla. Just say that Little Flower will lead the dogs in the village to patrol the mountain path entering the village every night, and our family will be responsible for feeding those dogs."

It was imperative that the villagers not find out about the highly dangerous wild animals they had at ho; otherwise, those villagers who were dissatisfied with the Mo Family would definitely suggest killing Dabai, Mao Tuan, and Red Python.

Mo Qingze thought this was a good idea, so he nodded, went back to his room to change into a new set of clothes, and then headed to Yang Bao’s house.

As soon as they heard there were wild beasts on the back mountain, no family dared to take it lightly. Everyone at ho arrived at Yang Bao’s house as quickly as possible. When Mo Qingze arrived, the modest hall was already packed with people, and those who were slightly late could only stand in the courtyard.

"Mr. Mo has arrived, please co in quickly, it’s cold outside!"

"Yes, Mr. Mo, you still have to go to the Academy to study tomorrow; you mustn’t catch a cold."

Upon seeing Mo Qingze, everyone spontaneously cleared a path and warmly invited him to co inside.

As the only Scholar from Liu Yang Village and now studying at a reputable Academy, Mo Qingze might beco the village’s sole Scholar the following year. This is why the villagers held him in high respect.

Even if they were not related and could not bask in his success, rely ntioning to outsiders that there was a Scholar Master in their village would earn them a second glance; having a scholar in the village could make marriage and other social dealings a bit easier.

"Thank you, thank you!" Mo Qingze repeatedly expressed his gratitude, feeling sowhat embarrassed in the face of these enthusiastic villagers because of the trouble his family had caused.

Once everyone had arrived, Yang Bao, with a grave expression, repeated the purpose of the eting. He then let everyone express their opinions on how to prevent wild beasts from entering the village, especially at night.

The assembly was a babble of voices as everyone voiced their suggestions, which included going into the mountains in groups and forming a patrol from each family to take turns patrolling at night. This way, even if wild beasts entered the village, they could be prevented in ti.

This was the simplest and a no-other-option thod. After all, who would want to leave their warm bed and family in the middle of the night to freeze outside?

Seeing that the timing was right, Mo Qingze stood up and suggested that Little Flower lead a patrol of the village dogs. Seeing that the people were not very receptive, he had no choice but to firmly explain, "Little Flower is very smart, and the dogs in the village listen to it. It should be no problem for them to patrol."
