Mo Wu sat sowhat constrained in the chair, carefully taking in the bright and spacious room adorned with lovely decorations. Even though she had been here once before, she still felt a pang of envy.

"Auntie, please have so tea to warm up," Mo Yan ca out with a cup of hot tea, interrupting Mo Wu’s thoughts.

"Y-Yan girl, you are too kind," Mo Wu swiftly got up, taking the white porcelain teacup with both hands cautiously. Such a delicate cup, it sure must be very valuable, she couldn’t afford to break it.

"You are my aunt, is it possible that you can’t even drink a cup of tea?" Mo Yan said with a smile, her hand inadvertently touching Mo Wu’s icy fingers. Observing her threadbare and worn clothes, Mo Yan’s heart couldn’t help but sour.

"Yan girl, you, you’re a good person!" Seeing that her deanor was as kind as ever, and that she hadn’t neglected her due to the strife between their families, Mo Wu felt her eyes welling up with tears, unable to voice her request.

Knowing that she must have sothing important to discuss by coming here, and seeing her discomfort, Mo Yan smiled and said, "Auntie, whatever it is, please feel free to speak up. If I can be of any help, I will surely assist."

Mo Wu nodded with a choked voice, sipping the hot tea in small mouthfuls, the warmth spreading from her throat to her heart.

The hall was a bit chilly, so Mo Yan closed the back door which was open and brought a stove from the kitchen, placing it in front of Mo Wu. The charcoal inside was burning brightly.

The warm heat wafted over her face, and Mo Wu unconsciously stretched her hands out near the stove, the chill in her body subsiding significantly.

Looking at her hands chapped from the cold and void of healthy skin, Mo Yan pulled up a chair and sat beside her. In a gentle voice, she said, "Auntie, take your ti and tell , there’s no one else here."

eting her caring cousin’s gaze, Mo Wu opened her mouth with so embarrassnt. But thinking of her children braving the cold wind working hard every day chopping wood up the mountain, she finally mustered the courage, "Yan girl, does your family still need workers for the wasteland? Would it be possible for your uncle and my son to help out too?"

Mo Yan listened and was not surprised; she shook her head and said, "We have enough people; I’m afraid uncle won’t be suitable."

She didn’t have much regard for Mo Yongfu. He was very filial, but too much filial piety beca foolish devotion. Even now, she thought more highly of Mo Yonglu; at least he dared to stand up to Old Man Mo and Mo Hong’s family for the sake of his children. Even if they needed more people for clearing the wasteland, she didn’t want Mo Yongfu to go.

"Oh, then, then forget it," as soon as she heard this, Mo Wu’s heart sank with disappointnt, though she kept her composure to avoid putting Mo Yan in a difficult position.

"Auntie, I haven’t finished speaking!" Seeing the lack of anger on her face due to being refused, Mo Yan inwardly nodded and unveiled her plan, "Uncle might not be suitable, but for your son I can arrange so work."

"R-Really?" Mo Wu looked at Mo Yan in astonishnt, "Yan girl, this won’t cause you any trouble, will it?"

Mo Yan shook her head with a smile and said, "A couple of days ago, my family opened a rice shop in the city, and we’re in need of help. If your son is willing, he can start work tomorrow."

"A rice shop? Your family has opened a rice shop?" Mo Wu stared at Mo Yan in shock, she had never imagined that Uncle Tang’s house could manage to set up a rice shop in the city – that must have cost a trendous amount of silver!

After the shock subsided, she felt genuinely happy from the bottom of her heart. Uncle Tang’s family had endured too much hardship in the past. Now their lives were on the upswing, and it was bound to get even better – truly a case of their hardships finally coming to fruition.

Mo Yan said with a smile, "The rice shop has just opened, and Grandfather Li alone can’t handle everything. That’s why we’re looking to recruit help. If your son has no objections, it would be best if he could start tomorrow."
