Even though Doctor Gui had never perford such a peculiar surgery, as a physician dedicated to honing his dical skills, his learning ability was directly proportional to his thirst for knowledge. Guided by Mo Yan’s theoretical direction, he quickly got the hang of it and his hands beca increasingly adept.
As the flesh of the Red Python was cut open, a great deal of blood flowed out. Mo Yan, holding a piece of gauze, wiped it off, the strong stench of blood making her uncomfortable.
But she had to stay and watch; if Doctor Gui accidentally cut a blood vessel, she could imdiately use the Spirit Spring Water for redy.
Fortunately, everything went smoothly, and there were no such accidents. Although the Red Python was fully paralyzed, its body still twitched slightly under the stimulation of pain, clearly in extre agony.
The Red Python shafully shed tears from the pain, dripping onto the ground.
Woo woo, it hurts, it hurts to death, once it recovers, it will definitely make that human compensate it well, woo woo!
Once they cut open the soft mucous mbrane layer, the Red Python’s dark green gallbladder appeared before their eyes. The creature was large and so was its gallbladder, terrifyingly so, filled with at least a pound of bile.
Doctor Gui was delighted, and with Mo Yan’s suggested location, he steadily inserted the needle into the Red Python’s gallbladder. Soon, the bile flowed through the needle into the chicken intestine, then through the jade tube, and finally into the jade bowl that was prepared beforehand.
After about half a bowl of bile had flowed out, Doctor Gui estimated that it was enough and removed the needle, a trickle of dark green bile oozing from the puncture.
Mo Yan quickly dabbed it with a cotton cloth soaked in Spirit Spring Water until no more bile ca out, then she allowed Doctor Gui to sew up the wound with a catgut suture.
The catgut suture, made from sheep intestines, would fuse with the Red Python’s flesh and blood once the wound healed, negating the need for stitch removal.
After sewing each layer, Mo Yan would gently wipe it with Spirit Spring Water, which disinfected and promoted rapid healing of the wound.
After the outer layer of the skin was also sewn up, Mo Yan heaved a long sigh of relief, only then noticing that her back was soaked with sweat.
Doctor Gui carefully poured the Red Python’s bile from the jade bowl into a flawless jade bottle and then rushed out of the house in a hurry.
Before long, the Red Python’s numbness passed and, pained, it wanted to roll about but was calmly soothed by Mo Yan.
Little Flower, who had been waiting outside, couldn’t wait to dash in. Seeing the nearly lifeless Red Python, it circled around it as if seeing sothing extraordinary, occasionally scratching at its head with its paws and making very strange noises.
Mo Yan looked at Little Flower skeptically. This little guy, it couldn’t possibly be taking pleasure in soone else’s misfortune, could it?
Next, the Red Python opened its gaping maw and viciously snapped at Little Flower, confirming her suspicion.
Little Flower, bullying the injured, do you have no sha?
Concerned that the Red Python would tear the surgical site, Mo Yan scolded Little Flower sternly, only to have the creature turn around and run out, looking wronged.
Mo Yan didn’t bother with it, and instead wiped the Red Python’s wound with gauze moistened with Spirit Spring Water. After tidying up all the tools she had brought and washing her hands, she finally sat down in a chair nearby, nursing her sore back.
At this mont, only Mo Yan, Xiao Ruiyuan, and a half-dead Red Python remained in the room.
As a person of proper etiquette, Xiao Ruiyuan should have left, since it was improper for an unmarried man and woman to be alone in a room together.
If this had been before, he would have left early. But, having finally gotten the chance to be alone, and not knowing when he might see her again, he felt reluctant to leave, and his legs refused to move.
"Sir Xiao, the Red Python has injuries and will need so ti to recover before it can return to the mountains. Please find a careful servant to temporarily take care of it."
