"Sis, I went with Grandfather Li to Mu’s Shop today and saw so of our furniture completed. It’s really beautiful, and Zhenzhen and I love it. You should go and have a look tomorrow," Xin Er said, her excitent palpable as she shared her joy with Mo Yan.
The sisters climbed into bed, and Xin Er chatted animatedly with Mo Yan about her delight.
"It’s great that you like them. Once we move to our new ho, you and Zhenzhen will each have your own rooms. Then, you can decorate them however you wish," Mo Yan said tenderly, holding her sister’s soft little hand.
"Yes, I’ll make sure my room is decorated beautifully. I’ll invite lots of friends over to play," Xin Er said excitedly. Even though it couldn’t be seen in the dark of the night, Mo Yan knew her sister’s eyes were surely shining brightly.
"Lots of friends? Well, after we move to Liu Yang Village, you should play more with the girls your age in the village. You can’t always stay at ho doing needlework alone. Understand?" Mo Yan patted Xin Er’s hand. The girl was wonderful in every way, but she didn’t enjoy socializing much. If she didn’t practice communicating with others now, she would likely encounter problems in her social interactions in the future.
"Mhm, I understand," Xin Er responded loudly. She hadn’t enjoyed going out in Mo Family Village before, not because she didn’t like to play, but because people looked at her strangely when she did. On top of that, the ignorant children would call her nas behind her back, making it too upsetting for her to really have fun with anyone.
The sisters talked for a while longer before Xin Er gradually drifted off to sleep.
Mo Yan took Little Flower into the Space and saw an additional red streak on the rit Pearl, knowing it was from defusing the situation for the child earlier that day.
There wasn’t much blank space left on the rit Pearl. An upgrade was around the corner, which ant she would be secured for Red Python’s surgery. Now with the moving date set for the sixth day of August, she needed to expedite the Space’s upgrade and resolve the Red Python’s issue before then. Otherwise, she would continue to feel uneasy.
Finding the right material for a shunt was a bit challenging. If it really ca down to it, she might have to make do with chicken intestines or sheep gut as a reluctant substitute.
As for who would perform the live gallbladder removal on Red Python, Mo Yan simply couldn’t do it herself; she would have to provide theoretical guidance while Xiao Ruiyuan found soone else to do the actual work.
If it weren’t for the Spirit Spring Water, Mo Yan would never have considered saving Red Python. In her past life, those bears underwent gallbladder removal that was not done properly, resulting in permanent wounds and a lifeti of pain. It was better not to carelessly agree and risk such a result; it would be more rciful for Xiao Ruiyuan to end Red Python’s suffering with a swift stroke.
The next day, Mo Yan strolled around the streets as usual, her day even more serene than before; not only did she not encounter any children in distress, but she didn’t even co across any fights or quarrels.
After so thought, she decided to visit Mu’s Shop to check on the furniture progress.
Lizhong guarded the shop daily, partly to push for progress and partly to prevent the craftsn from cutting corners and subbing in inferior materials.
Surprised to see Mo Yan, Lizhong quickly led her to the backyard upon learning she was there to see the furniture. The completed pieces had been varnished and were now drying in the sunlight.
The varnish was not the commonly seen date-red or other colors but a clear one specifically requested by Mo Yan. This not only prevented insects and moisture but also preserved the natural color of the wood. The faint yellow of the original wood would make the house feel warr and cozier.
The furniture’s patterns had been altered according to Mo Yan’s suggestions, and indeed, the completed products looked good.
Inspired, the Shopkeeper at Mu’s crafted a similar set of furniture. It was snapped up for a hefty price by a wealthy family in less than half a day. Overjoyed, the Shopkeeper had the craftsn work overnight to make several more sets, which also sold well.
