Thinking of how Yanyan’s pregnancy must be causing her mood swings, it seed normal again, but if things continued this way, Yanyan’s temper would only get worse, which wouldn’t do the child any good either. There had to be a way to completely soothe Yanyan’s emotions.
Xue tuanzi’s eyes rolled, and it loudly complained in Mo Yan’s consciousness, "Yanyan, if this guy won’t buy it for you, just go to the street tomorrow and buy it yourself. Buy as much as you want, or better yet, have the stinky tofu vendor move into the General Mansion and make it for you every day."
Mo Yan, who had been silently crying, brightened up and then hesitated, "Can I really do that? Won’t eating too much be bad for the baby?"
Xue tuanzi rolled its eyes, "You still know to care about the child, huh? I thought you’d set aside your baby just for the sake of eating!"
Mo Yan replied, annoyed, "Am I that kind of person? Even though this child ca unexpectedly, it’s still my child, how could I not care for her?"
Xue tuanzi silently snickered with a tone that said "I don’t believe you", "Then why were you insisting on eating stinky tofu and getting angry at him when your man told you it’s not good for the baby?"
"I, I, I don’t know..." Mo Yan scratched her head, unsure of how to explain.
She had been concerned about the child, she hadn’t even touched anything cold on such a hot day. But after being refused stinky tofu, her heart beca uncomfortable no matter how she thought about it, so she lashed out at the person behind her. What was happening to her?
"Hmph, I think these are symptoms of antenatal depression," Xue tuanzi said alarmingly, piercing through the very thoughts Mo Yan herself hadn’t noticed, "You feel in your heart that your man values the baby in your belly more than you, and you get mad at him because of this imbalance. That’s not right!"
Antenatal depression?
Mo Yan was startled. The consequences of this illness could be serious, and not only would it harm the baby, but it would also bring her no benefits. Could her unusual reactions indeed stem from jealousy towards her own child? Was it possible?
"Yanyan, don’t be afraid," Xue tuanzi said as it saw Mo Yan calm down, and took the opportunity to suggest, "You’re feeling emotionally unstable now, and it’s normal to have wild thoughts, but you need to adjust quickly. Don’t dwell on things. If you keep yourself busy, you won’t have ti to think too much."
Although it was unclear why its ntally and physically healthy master began to have erratic emotions during pregnancy, distracting the master had to be the right move.
Co to think of it, the Xiao kid was too good to the master. Perhaps it was precisely because of his kindness that the master had beco accustod to his fulfilling all her demands. When he couldn’t fulfill them, she would overthink and feel undervalued, as if her position was less than that of the baby. In the end, it was the master who regarded the relationship too highly, possibly without even realizing it herself.
Mo Yan reflected thoughtfully, considering her recent behavior. Surely, it was only because she had too much idle ti that she let her mind wander—it certainly wasn’t like her before the pregnancy!
With this in mind, a deep sense of guilt erged in her heart. She was the one who had been making unreasonable demands, yet the man behind her had always indulged her, never speaking harshly to her. Yet she, spoiled by his tenderness, did not reflect on her actions and instead beca more outrageous.
Admittedly, there were reasons related to psychological and physiological changes due to pregnancy, but more than that, she had not managed to maintain balance and was gradually getting lost in the relationship. If this continued, she dared not imagine what their relationship would beco—perhaps by the ti she realized, things would have changed beyond recognition.
Who would tolerate a capricious partner indefinitely? If positions were reversed and the man behind her beca unreasonable with a bad temper, even the deepest affection would fade. At the mont emotions completely ran out, she probably wouldn’t be able to stand him for a mont.
Fortunately, it wasn’t too late. She hadn’t gone too far down this unbalanced path and there was still a chance to turn back...
Xiao Ruiyuan silently watched his wife’s figure, feeling a deep sense of guilt. Knowing how her tastes had varied recently, why couldn’t he be more understanding? She knew her boundaries, and while she couldn’t eat too much of the strange cravings, a taste was alright—she wouldn’t really neglect the baby, would she?
With that thought, Xiao Ruiyuan’s guilt magnified. He reached out to pull his wife into a tight embrace and tell her he would buy stinky tofu for her tomorrow, and that she could have anything she wanted in the future. But before his hand touched her clothes, she suddenly turned and nestled in his embrace, hugging his waist tightly.
"I’m sorry..." Mo Yanshen murmured deeply into the man’s chest, "I shouldn’t have been so petulant with you, I shouldn’t have lost my temper at you!"
Taken aback by his wife’s apology, Xiao Ruiyuan was stunned for a mont before hugging her tighter, leaning down to kiss her head whilst saying apologetically, "It is I who should be apologizing to you. From now on, whatever you want to eat, send the maid to buy it. I will not stop you, but you must take care of yourself and not touch anything that’s off-limits."
Mo Yan clenched the man’s clothes, looking up with a wistful expression, "You’re going to spoil like this. If you didn’t always pamper , would I, could I ever quarrel with you?"
Xiao Ruiyuan laughed helplessly, affectionately pinched her nose, "Is there any wrongdoing in treating you well? You are my wife. I want to spoil you, to indulge you."
Warmth surged in Mo Yan’s heart, yet she retorted, "But what if I get spoiled and beco unreasonable? Then you’ll surely despise . Humph, I’m not falling for that, giving you the chance to find soone else... ah—ouch—"
Covering the spot where she had been hit, Mo Yan’s cheeks flushed crimson, looking accusingly at the man whose face had suddenly darkened, but she could not utter a word of reprimand.
Xiao Ruiyuan sighed softly, "Don’t ever say that again. Don’t you understand my feelings for you by now?"
Mo Yan, seeing the seriousness on her husband’s face, couldn’t help nodding, and kissed his lips, "I won’t say it again. I’ll never say it again."
"This ti, I will forgive you. If there is a next ti, after you have borne the child, I will settle accounts with you together!"
Xiao Ruiyuan was satisfied with his wife’s response, and lowered his head to return her kiss.
