When Mo Yan woke up again, it took her a while to co to her senses as she stared at the pitch-black ceiling above her. Only after a long ti did she realize she was lying on a cold, damp ground, and a dull ache in her forehead reminded her of the terrible events that had happened before.

She jerked up abruptly and uncontrollably fell back the way she had co, belatedly discovering that her arms were tightly bound behind her back, and her legs were also tightly tied with a thumb-thick rope.

Having been tied up for too long and her body maintaining the sa position for an extended period, the slight movent made her hands and feet prick painfully and they were extrely stiff, too. In such a state, let alone sitting up, even turning over beca an incredibly difficult task.

"Yanyan, you’re awake, that’s great!" Inside the Space, Xue tuanzi cried out excitedly. Heaven knows, unable to see what was happening outside and being unaware of Mo Yan’s condition, it was extrely worried that Mo Yan might be hard by these bad people right under its watch.

If not for its sense of their connection still being there, and Xue tuanzi’s extraordinary patience, it wouldn’t have used the secret technique to break through the Space’s confinent like last ti; otherwise, it would have been sealed inside the rit Pearl again.

Feeling Xue tuanzi’s concern, Mo Yan’s heart ward, and she comforted it by saying, "I’m awake, and I haven’t been knocked senseless, don’t worry."

While speaking, she rotated her neck and eyes, the only parts not bound, surveying the surroundings. After a while, she was able to confirm that she was indeed lying inside a cave.

Mo Yan was at the deepest part of the cave, surrounded by darkness that revealed nothing to her eyes; only the light from the sunshine reflecting in at the entrance allowed her to know it was dayti. This fainting spell had made her sleep through an entire night.

The cave was very quiet, and Mo Yan could only hear her own faint breathing. Outside the cave, however, there were faint voices of people talking, but even with her ears pricked up, she couldn’t make out a single word.

"Xue tuanzi, do you know who kidnapped , and where this place is?" Mo Yan asked, in complete darkness, placing her hope in Xue tuanzi.

"Yanyan, I... I don’t know," Xue tuanzi’s weak voice rose in her consciousness. "When your eyes were closed, I couldn’t see anything outside. While you were unconscious and unaware, I couldn’t sense what was happening outside either."

The Heavenly Dao places significant restrictions on Artifact Spirits like Xue tuanzi, which cos to understand the outside world through Mo Yan’s eyes and perception. In other words, Mo Yan acts as a dium; once that dium is cut off, Xue tuanzi becos blind and deaf to everything happening outside.

Mo Yan recalled this point and reproached herself, "It’s all my fault for fainting for so long. How could I bla you!"

Hearing this, Xue tuanzi still felt terrible, "It’s because I’m too weak. If I had known this day would co, I should’ve learned more skills in the Cultivation World earlier. Then I wouldn’t be so passive, helpless without you. If you hadn’t co to... if you hadn’t co to..."

By this point, Xue tuanzi was choking up, unable to continue!

Mo Yan felt a pang in her heart, her already unpleasant mood growing worse, "Never say such disheartening things again. You’re an Artifact Spirit, not a god. If you were that powerful, I doubt the Heavenly Dao could have tolerated you. Besides, Abbot Liaokong said I would face an ordeal, but it would be safe and sound! And you’ve said that I possess the fortune of nine lifetis. Even if I really encounter danger, I will turn calamity into blessing. What is there to worry about?"

Stirred by her master’s warm words, Xue tuanzi’s eyes were brimming with tears, wishing it could hug its master and weep, "Wuu, Yanyan, how can you be so kind!"

Was this kindness enough? Mo Yan felt sowhat guilty. She considered Xue tuanzi a very important partner but had invested very little effort in it. In its long life, Xue tuanzi could only be concerned about her, which was hardly fair.

The more Mo Yan thought about it, the worse she felt. Considering that people outside wouldn’t co in for a while, and even if they did, they wouldn’t be able to tell at a glance that she wasn’t in the darkness anymore, she focused her thoughts and teleported into the Space.

"Yanyan, don’t move. I’ll help you untie the ropes first," Xue tuanzi happily pounced forward, about to use its spiritually powered blade to violently cut the ropes, but Mo Yan dodged it.

"Better to untie them. I’ll need them later when I go back out. We can’t let the kidnappers beco suspicious." Noticing Xue tuanzi’s puzzled gaze, Mo Yan patiently explained.
