"You know?" Mo Erni let out a piercing scream, followed by an indifferent remark, "So what if people find out? I didn’t start the fire. If soone has to be caught, it should be that stupid girl, my younger aunt. What does it have to do with ?"

"She is your own younger aunt, how can you say such a thing? If it wasn’t for your instigations, how could she have done such a thing?"

Mo Yonglu looked at his daughter, whose face was full of indifference, in agony. In the past, no matter how worthless he was, he wouldn’t have done anything to harm his siblings or relatives; but now, his own flesh and blood was uttering such cold-hearted and ruthless words. Could this be retribution?

"Younger aunt? What kind of farce is she?" Mo Erni said with full sarcasm, "Always flaunting the favor of grandparents, she would spite her younger relatives. Whenever I got a silk hairband, which ti did she not snatch it away? Isn’t it because she’s jealous that Mo Yan, that wench, is more beautiful than her and dresses better? Even if I hadn’t stirred things up, she would still have caused trouble, Do you think your dear sister is so kind of saint?"

Being frad by her own younger brother in court and still believing in sibling affection, such naivety is simply foolish!

Mo Yonglu was at a loss for words, choking up. He raised his hand wanting to discipline her but, eting Mo Erni’s cold gaze, his hand trembled and he couldn’t bring it down.

He knew his only younger sister was spoiled by his parents to the point of being unreasonable, but she was only a few months older than Erni, whom he had raised like his own daughter. In the past, he saw how close the niece and aunt were, but he had never imagined his daughter harboring such deep resentnt.

Mo Erni looked at her dazed father with an indifferent expression, "If you want to spread the news about this, I won’t bla you. After all, how could I bla having such a useless father like you?"

Having said that, she didn’t wait for Mo Yonglu’s reaction, picked up the firewood from the ground, and left without looking back.

Mo Yonglu stood there, stunnned, his eyes filled with bewildernt. He was repentant, aware that he had done many wrong things in the past; now all he wanted was to honestly farm and work to provide for his parents and raise his children. But his realization ca too late, and it was all too little, too late.

...

The construction site was bustling with activity, with several makeshift stoves puffing white steam, and the intense aroma of rice wafting from a distance, a sign that the glutinous rice was almost ready to be stead. So villagers were using shovels to scoop the prepared rice paste into buckets to be taken to Master Lv and the others for building the walls.

Many hands make light work. After the main house, which had the largest area, was completed, the other rooms progressed quickly. The thirty-one including Master Lv were experienced hands, and they built the walls quickly and well. The house ant for a family of four was starting to take shape, and if the weather held, in about half a month’s ti, the entire build could be finished.

Mo Yan made her rounds on the construction site and then headed to a row of simple straw sheds on the side. The sheds were there for Master Lv and his crew to rest and sleep at night, and Mo Qingze was also staying there, currently busy calculating sothing with an abacus.

"Father, do you need my help with anything?" Mo Yan asked as she picked up a ledger and flipped through a few pages.

Mo Qingze shook his head, "It’s just so accounts from the construction site, your father can handle it."

Mo Yan nodded, but not seeing Little Flower around, she asked.

"She must have gone into the mountains. She gets restless on the construction site during the day and roams around the mountain; she only cos back at night. Last night she even caught a small wild boar!" Saying this, Mo Qingze marveled, "Truly, a fine wolf."

Mo Yan was greatly surprised. That goofball, with his gluttonous deanor, managed to catch a wild boar?

Seeing the look on her face, Mo Qingze knew what she was thinking, "After all, it’s still a wolf, even if raised by humans, its wild instincts remain. Fortunately, it understands human nature and doesn’t cause trouble. It’s been at the construction site for so long, and nobody has realized it’s actually a wolf."
