Jing City’s land was worth its weight in gold, and naturally, the Shen family’s residence here couldn’t compare to the Shen Family’s Old Mansion. However, this residence also had seven or eight rooms, both big and small, and a small courtyard where one could plant flowers and herbs; it was already quite impressive compared to ordinary people’s hos. The young couple lived there quite comfortably with another couple who served them.

"Yanyan, you’re here." Liu Tinglan had prepared early, anticipating that Mo Yan would co to visit as soon as she heard the news. Upon hearing soone knock at the door, she ran out from the main hall and, sure enough, saw Mo Yan just entering the yard with a bamboo basket in hand.

Liu Tinglan bounded over with jumps and hops, not noticing the shocked expressions on the faces of the couple who looked after her. Mo Yan, however, did notice, and quickly stepped forward, scolding with a stern look, "You’re about to beco a mother, yet you’re still so careless. Aren’t you afraid of startling the child in your belly?"

Liu Tinglan chuckled and hooked her arm around Mo Yan’s, completely unfazed by her "unfriendly" attitude, "Isn’t it because I was so happy to see you that I forgot for a mont?"

Mo Yan rolled her eyes and tapped her friend’s head, "You still have the nerve to argue when you’ve done sothing wrong? If your mother knew how careless you are, she would have no choice but to stay here and watch over you until you safely give birth."

Upon hearing this, Liu Tinglan imdiately let out a wail of despair, "You can’t tell my mother! She’s going through nopause, and she ca over as soon as she got the news the other day. Even though I’m healthy, she insisted I lie in bed to protect the baby. She sat beside the bed without blinking an eye and kept nagging not to eat this or that, talking until the lamps were lit. If my father hadn’t arrived in ti, she would have driven insane."

The term "nopause" didn’t exist here, Liu Tinglan had learned it from Mo Yan. Of course, Mo Yan didn’t tell her that the word sotis carried a derogatory connotation, otherwise, she wouldn’t be so blithe about saying it in front of Mo Yan.

The corner of Mo Yan’s eye twitched, and she decided it was better not to tell her friend the full implications, "Isn’t your mother just worried about you? If you were more sensible, and let her rest assured, do you think she would fuss over you like this?"

Liu Tinglan had finally escaped the nagging of her parents and husband, and upon seeing her friend join in, she covered her ears and put on a pitiable expression, "Yanyan, can we not talk about this, please? I will be good and listen from now on, I really will!"

Seeing her friend like this, Mo Yan couldn’t bear to continue. But knowing how impulsive her friend was, she still needed to give her a reminder, "Then you must keep your promise. Don’t worry those who care about you. Rember, you’re not just one person anymore."

Liu Tinglan nodded eagerly, rubbing her head affectionately against Mo Yan’s shoulder, "I’ve got it. But if you’re not too busy, co and see more often. I get so bored being alone!"

"Of course!" Mo Yan readily agreed, pinching her friend’s face, "Once your pregnancy is more stable and the fruit orchard is nearing harvest, I’ll have you co stay at my place for a while. They say that if a pregnant woman eats plenty of fresh fruit, her child’s skin will be tender and fair!"

Liu Tinglan was quite tempted to hear this; who wouldn’t want a beautiful baby? "Then it’s settled. You’ll likely be busy by then, I can just have Brother Jin take to your place."

Mo Yan nodded, ntally listing the fruits that pregnant won should avoid.

Once seated in the main hall, Mo Yan had Liu Tinglan extend her wrist so she could take her pulse.

Liu Tinglan had great faith in her friend’s dical skills. Without hesitation, she rolled up her sleeve and extended her arm. She had been suffering from morning sickness for the past few days and couldn’t eat. Although she didn’t say it aloud, she was quite anxious; even though her mother and the Doctor said it was normal, it wasn’t enough to put her completely at ease—she feared that any carelessness could harm the baby inside her.

Mo Yan had observed Liu Tinglan upon entering and, seeing that her spirits were alright but her complexion was off, guessed that morning sickness had given her a hard ti. As long as it wasn’t due to any physical ailnt, she would recover after this period.

A mont later, Mo Yan withdrew her hand with a strange look and said to a sowhat nervous Liu Tinglan, "It’s fine, your body is in great shape, and the child is doing well too! However, we need to find a way for you to overco this nausea after eating. Try to make yourself eat a little; the child needs the nutrients from the mother’s body to grow healthy and strong."

Liu Tinglan failed to notice the oddity in her friend’s expression. Relieved to hear the baby was alright, she earnestly responded, "I understand. I will make sure to eat properly."
