"Mr. Mo, are you willing to take Rourou as your wife?" Old Lady Cui looked at Mo Qingze with calm and undisturbed eyes, inquiring with a placid tone. Her deanor was as though she was asking, "Mr. Mo, was the al to your liking tonight?"

Mo Qingze suddenly looked up at Old Lady Cui with a hint of doubt, wondering if he was hallucinating. It wasn’t until Old Lady Cui repeated the question with the sa indifferent expression that he realized this was no illusion.

Suppressing the tumultuous waves rising in his heart, Mo Qingze stood up. He wanted to follow his deepest desires and imdiately agree with an "I am willing," but as the words reached his lips, they changed: "I am honored by Old Lady Cui’s generous affection, and to marry Miss Cui would be the greatest fortune for Qingze. However, regarding the matter of marriage, Qingze must still consult the children’s wishes for their consent," he said.

Old Lady Cui’s heart had just begun to reveal a glimr of joy upon hearing the beginning, but the latter part of his statent made her heart sink abruptly. Her expression unchanged, her tone beca significantly harder, "Do you an to say, you need to consult your children’s opinions about taking a wife, and you will marry only if they agree?"

Mo Qingze shook his head, calmly explaining, "Qingze is determined to marry Miss Cui; their opposition would be in vain. However, without their understanding, Qingze worries Miss Cui might be mistreated in the future."

Lady Cui, upon hearing this, sowhat understood Mo Qingze’s intentions, and her heart felt a little more at ease, "If those three children do not agree, then you will not marry?"

She would not be foolish enough to question who weighed more heavily in his heart, her daughter or his children. There was simply no comparison. She would rather her daughter get along well with the three children so that she could lead a happy life in the future.

After hearing her words, Mo Qingze revealed a gentle smile, "The children will not disagree, but Qingze just wants to know if they will treat Miss Cui as a family mber."

Old Lady Cui looked at Mo Qingze in astonishnt, as if she were seeing him for the first ti. Undeniably, she was touched by the words "as a family mber."

Mo Qingze stood quietly in place, openly letting Old Lady Cui scrutinize him. He loved his children, and he was fond of the woman who had etched a place in his heart. If the children refused to accept her, even if he resolutely married her, their hearts would hold thorns, and he would not be happy, marrying her would indeed harm her.

Old Lady Cui took a deep breath, her face unexpectedly revealing a slight smile, "Those three children have grown up; it’s right for you to ask for their opinion! If they are willing, you can send a matchmaker to make a formal proposal anyti. If they are unwilling, I will not bla you. Let’s consider tonight’s matter... as if I never brought it up."

Mo Qingze did not wish for his children to be unhappy over the marriage, nor could he bear to see the woman he liked being wronged. As a mother, Old Lady Cui did not wish for her daughter to suffer after remarriage either. Rather than saying she was unwilling to force Mo Qingze, it was more accurate to say it stemd from her love for her daughter.

"This is what Qingze ought to do; please be assured, Old Lady Cui." Mo Qingze bowed deeply to Old Lady Cui, expressing his gratitude for her understanding. With the statent about consulting his children, he was prepared for any reaction from Old Lady Cui. He was grateful that the elderly woman cherished her, ensuring that even if the marriage did not proceed, no one would belittle her.

Shortly after Mo Qingze left, a graceful figure appeared in the room.

Seeing the newcor, Old Lady Cui’s face showed a tender smile as she motioned for the woman to co closer, grasping her hand and asking, "Rourou, you heard the conversation just now, what are your thoughts?"

On Cui Qingrou’s face, there was no sign of disappointnt; her watery eyes unexpectedly added a touch of girlish shyness, "Daughter has not misjudged him; he is worth waiting for."

Old Lady Cui touched her daughter’s still youthful face and asked in a mild voice, "Have you set your heart on him?"

Cui Qingrou nodded without hesitation, her voice sweet and still imbued with firmness, "If it is not him, daughter will not remarry anyone else."

Old Lady Cui, upon hearing this, was not surprised. Her daughter had said before that she would not marry again, and eting soone who made her change her mind was already difficult. If this matter did not succeed, it was feared that she might remain alone for life.

"You have made up your mind, Mother will not interfere. All I hope is that one day you and Mr. Mo may co together in marriage; only then will Mother truly be at ease," she said.

"Mother, daughter will take good care of herself!" Cui Qingrou conveyed her appreciation for her mother’s understanding, leaning affectionately against her mother. In front of her mother, she was still the child who would never grow up.
