Chapter 16: The illusion
Ed disregarded the weapons he got. He was satisfied with the rest. He crushed the skill cards he got and asked the system about the map.
[The Map is another component of the Ga interface; it should allow you to check on your allies, enemies and neutral characters within a radius of 20 km]
Ed understood what the system ant; he did play gas before that used maps. After crushing the Map card, he was wondering if he should use the Upgrade cards or keep them for another ti.
'It's better to get stronger faster so I'll use them!' Ed made up his mind and used one Upgrade card on his Wind blade ability.
Wind blade evolved into Wind magic.
Ed was pretty happy that he got another type of magic that easily.
"Raikou would you like to get stronger again?!" Ed planned on using the 2 Upgrade cards on Raikou. He thought about evolving his Two-sword Style but he rembered he only had 2 swords. He would level it up when he got a good sword, at least as good as the ones he has now.
"Woof!" Raikou was enthusiastic about leveling up. He knew this world was one where the strong ruled.
Ed crushed the two Upgrade cards and used them on Raikou. This ti instead of light, a Shadowy sphere surrounded Raikou, Ed used his Sharingan and saw that his companion's Qi kept growing at a huge rate. It was even greater than the Bear they fought last ti.
Ed was afraid that such Qi would attract the attention of soone so he turned around and looked towards the door. He noticed Becky's Qi was moving, It seems Raikou's transformation affected her as well but she didn't move, she still had her duties above all else.
A minute later the shadowy sphere disappeared and Raikou ca out. He was a lot bigger than before; he was now almost 2 ters tall. His fur was even darker and looked like it glistening with patches of purple fur giving him a dangerous look.
Ed scanned him and was stunned at the result.
Na: Raikou (Shadow wolf).
Cultivation: King establishnt (Level 1).
Description: A wolf heard of only in legends.
Raikou was now a legendary wolf. His transformation alone pushed him to a greater height than before.
"How about so training Raikou?!" Ed was excited at his partner getting stronger.
"Woof!" Raikou nodded in agreent and they both headed out towards the training area.
They both got ready to spar, Ed grabbed two wooden swords while Raikou and running and jumping around like he was warming up.
Ed activated his Sharingan and rushed to where Raikou was. Raikou then used his signature speed and easily dodged him. Ed then felt soone coming from his side and automatically swung his sword.
He had hit a fireball Raikou threw at him. 'My body moved on its own. This must be the Seikken's effect' Ed backed away and clad his swords in Wind blade. The skill hadn't disappeared even though he had evolved it.
This ti Ed took it a step further and used Fire magic above the wind, so it wouldn't burn his swords, giving them a mysterious yet mystical image. Ed swung his swords towards Raikou and the fla on the swords was sent towards him at an alarming speed.
Ed didn't know, but the ability to combine two types of magic was considered very rare in this world. Yes, he used it like it was child's play.
Before the flas hit, Raikou howled and it seed like he was clad in lightning. This gave him a boost in speed and strength. He used this form to make his way towards Ed. However, Ed always reacted quickly using his skills in combination with each other. The Sharingan and the Seikken combination proved to be very powerful.
However, soon enough Ed felt weak. He noticed that his MP was close to hitting 0. Using the Sharingan along with the Fire and Wind magic drained him very quickly.
"Let's stop here Raikou, I can't continue anymore Hah! Hah!" Ed was very exhausted. Raikou was getting tired as well, though not like Ed.
Ed turned around to leave and found his brother coming towards him. It seed like he was about to use the training area as well.
Eric passed by Ed without talking to him or even acknowledging his existence. Ed found it weird, even though his brother had a lot of pride he still cared about his family. Ed got curious and looked at his brother and noticed that his Qi was very agitated. It looked like his brother was about to use magic every ti but stopped just before releasing it.
'What could that be?' Ed got curious while walking away, and then suddenly rembered his Sharingan had just leveled up and he was now compatible with Genjutsu, that is illusionary techniques.
He also rembered that those who had the Sharingan could detect when soone was under an illusion.
'Could soone be using an illusion technique on my brother?!' Ed thought about going back and undoing the illusion on his bother, but he was stopped by a notification.
Special quest activated.
Find out who is controlling your brother and stop them.
Reward: 10.000 Exp.
Ed stopped in his tracks. The exp from this quest was double what he got killing the bear. Ed then decided to monitor his brother while he is under an illusion. Whoever is controlling him would need to be close to him to be able to do it.
Ed got back and decided on his next course of action. He wouldn't tell his father since that might warn the culprit and cause him to run away. He would also check his mother and little sister, he didn't bother checking his father since he knew nobody would dare to try and control him.
'My father said before that so sect disciples were the reason for Eric's behavior the other day'. That was Ed's only clue so he decided to start from there.
