Chapter 91: Chapter 39: Burning Ring, Gale Ranger!_2
His Magic Pets varied greatly in level, and were of no significant help in battle against the Thunder Night Dragon unless the Star Worms reached Challenge Level 7—just now, even the Clover Mantis didn’t stand a chance to assist.
But Char was still pleased with the significant improvent of the Star Worms.
Moreover, it was only a matter of ti before the Star Worms would evolve and once again beco his main force.
The group dragged the carcass of the Shark Lizard Beast as they made their way back.
According to Freyja, the at of the Shark Lizard Beast was not very tasty, with only a few parts considered delicacies. However, Char wasn’t just feeding himself; he was also sustaining an entire Mushroom House, a whole garden, and a chicken coop.
The remaining at, unsuitable for consumption by him and Freyja, could be used as fertilizer or chicken feed.
Surely, the at of an Interdiate Magical Beast would be more “nutritious” than that of ordinary animals, right?
After all, this was an Interdiate Magical Beast!
“Freyja.”
Midway, Char suddenly spoke.
“Hmm?”
“Your wound has healed; are you going to leave now?”
Freyja stopped in her tracks.
“Stay, or at least for a while. You were out on a journey, right? Consider this part of it.”
“Let think about it.”
It took a while before Freyja finally replied.
“Okay.”
This exchange cast a shadow over their successful return. The atmosphere was no longer as light-hearted as before. Even the Demon Beasts seed to sense sothing, acting cautiously, as if afraid of disturbing sothing.
…
The group safely returned to the Garden Secret Realm.
Char felt nervous and uneasy.
Even he wasn’t sure that Freyja would definitely stay.
If Freyja insisted on leaving, he could only let her go.
The earlier plan of ‘revealing intentions when no options left’ was based on the scenario if Freyja were an ungrateful person.
Now, having full trust in Freyja’s character, he believed she would not disclose his existence, let alone reveal the Prayer House and the Garden Secret Realm. How could she possibly commit such a dire act?
He could only “send her off with tears.”
But as anxious as he was, Char had many other things to deal with and couldn’t continually focus on this issue.
Back in the Garden Secret Realm, he first entered the Prayer House to settle the task.
After the illumination, a two-handed greatsword with shark-tooth-shaped blades on both edges appeared on the stone tablet.
As expected!
This was a piece of Bronze-level equipnt!
Seeing the word “Bronze” labeled on the panel, Char instinctively felt happy, but his mood dipped a second later, as the design of the Shark Tooth Sword clearly wasn’t sothing he could wield.
Indeed, when he picked up the Shark Tooth Sword, there wasn’t a surge of special power entering his body like with the Fierce Feather Bow or the Wild Boar Dagger.
Aside from that, the Shark Tooth Sword was indeed an excellent piece of equipnt, even better than the Fierce Feather Bow.
It was incredibly hard and sharp, with high killing power, and it could even transform into a chain, turning into a massive serpent with shark teeth on both sides when its attached Skills were activated, causing terrifying damage.
It could unleash incredible destructive power in close combat.
Soon, Char shook off the slight annoyance in his heart.
He couldn’t use it himself, but when he recruited more subordinates in the future, he could completely equip them with it.
Moreover, once he assud the role of Natural Prophet, not only would the Shark Tooth Sword be unfit for use, but even the Fierce Feather Bow would beco unusable.
At that mont, there was a knock at the door.
“May I co in?”
Char was sowhat surprised.
Since Freyja had realized the importance of the Prayer House, she had never ntioned entering the Prayer House before; this was sowhat unusual.
“Of course, you can.”
Char quickly opened the door for Freyja.
After confirming that the door was closed, Freyja first took a quick glance, her eyes scarcely concealing her astonishnt.
However, her unusual request to enter the Prayer House was not to observe what was inside; after a brief look, she assured herself of the high level of seclusion of the Prayer House and then voiced the thoughts that had been hesitating and circling in her heart for many days.
“Char, actually, you shouldn’t have saved ,” Freyja sighed softly, staring into Char’s eyes, she said earnestly.
What???
“This will bring trouble to you, no, to be precise, danger,” Freyja continued, then took a deep breath and switched the topic, “Have you ever heard of the ‘Burning Ring’?”
‘Burning Ring’?
What is that?
A sacred artifact?
Seeing Char’s puzzled expression and knowing his lack of common knowledge, Freyja quickly continued: “The ‘Burning Ring’ is one of the three brigades belonging to the Elf Royal Family.”
“Each of the three brigades possesses incredible strength, representing the elite of the elite within the Elf Army. Each brigade has a small number of mbers, but their fighting power is quite formidable.”
“The ‘Burning Ring’ is one of them, composed of a group of Gale Rangers, a profession comparable to the Natural Prophet, maybe slightly less, but not by much.”
Char’s mouth opened involuntarily, his expression one of shock.
When Freyja ntioned that the “Burning Ring” was one of the three elite brigades of the Elf Royal Family, he didn’t quite grasp the significance.
But when he heard that the entire “Burning Ring” was made up of Gale Rangers, a profession not inferior to the Natural Prophet, he couldn’t help being astonished.
Through the books left by Kedel, he had already co to understand just how powerful a Natural Prophet truly was.
This was definitely a profession capable of easily overcoming one or two levels at low ranks, accomplishing challenges beyond one’s level and even slaying foes, a path that led straight to legendary status—many ordinary professions, such as warriors, rangers, and assassins, couldn’t reach high ranks if they did not advance.
“I was once a reserve mber of the ‘Burning Ring,’ and one of the deputy leaders of the ‘Burning Ring’ is my aunt; however, few people know about this,” Freyja continued.
Char’s expression beca more solemn.
Freyja’s deanor was not flashy, and she clearly was not boasting about her connections or extraordinary background or the powerful support she had.
“But my aunt defected, no, a good portion of the ‘Burning Ring’ mbers defected, including ,” she stated.
“Defected? Why?” Char couldn’t help asking.
“Because of a royal coup, the Elf King’s brother murdered the Elf King and usurped the throne—”
“Wait a minute! Does the Elf King have a son? Do you have an Elf Prince?” Char suddenly interjected.
Freyja seed puzzled, but still answered Char’s question.
“Yes, but the prince has disappeared and might have been hard.”
What the hell? Hamlet?
Char couldn’t help but inwardly remark, but his worries lightened considerably. Though Freyja was a fugitive, following a royal coup, the current Elf King would have too many people to pursue.
Freyja, as a minor figure, would hardly draw any attention.
It was unlikely to bring any danger to him.
“Continue, please.”
“Before separating from and leading away the pursuers, Granny Aili entrusted with sothing very important.”
As she spoke, Freyja took sothing out from her person.
It was an exquisitely crafted box that looked like—amber?
Having prepared in advance before coming here, Freyja quickly unsealed the Amber Treasure Box, unraveling its layers of seals, and finally opened it.
Inside was a red feather that seed to have been plucked from the fiery red evening clouds, so beautiful, enchanting, and eye-catching.
The item introduction panel lit up, practically blinding Char.
