Though he couldn’t compare those two thousand player coins to real-life money as the player coins had a higher value due to how hard it was to acquire them fast, however he still wanted to collect sothing so the players wouldn’t take the evolution process for granted, and right now two months of paynt just felt right for their current level.

With the paynt confird, several straps locked his hands and legs, and a light tal band settled around the top of his head before the pod sealed back up, and the machine switched back to dark mode, with only Jas’s face faintly visible while the rest of his body was outlined.

An injector slid into his arm; he winced, but his voice couldn’t be heard anymore on their side, which just showed that the glass was clearly soundproof.

A second later, Mystic watched as Jas’s eyes slowly closed and he lost consciousness, and a one-hour tir appeared on the glass and began counting down.

He could see the tir in his system too, this was the first player he was putting through the talent evolution process, so he was keen to see how it ended, the rest of the players stepped forward and handed him their own signed forms as well.

“Go down to the training room, a trainer will co to run light drills with you all. When it’s your turn, I’ll call you up,” Mystic said without turning to them.

As soon as they left, he turned to X, which had been silent beside him.

[X: I already have two trainer bots heading down to the underground facility to oversee their drills and make sure they’re not lagging.”]

X explained swiftly, already anticipating what Mystic wanted to ask.

“What about the players up, how’s their training going?” Mystic asked instead, as X glided to the console and tapped a few buttons with its tentacle hands; and feeds of the squad jogging and running their first light drills popped up, and Mystic eased back into his chair.

On one screen, he was overseeing the main team’s training; on another set of screens, he watched two trainer bots step out of the elevator and head toward the underground training pitch as ordered to keep the remaining 5 players busy—as Mystic didn’t want his players idle for over an hour.

Before him, various syringes and lines fed into Jas’s body, and Mystic couldn’t help watching, curious despite the long hour ahead.

The hour crawled by, and then Mystic walked to the pod as its door opened with a hiss; the straps around Jas’s body released one by one.

When Mystic saw this, he was a little surprised; he hadn’t expected the evolution to work like this, clearly there were a few changes.

For one, Jas’s Talent now showed Uncommon instead of Common, and there were 2 bonus stat points he could assign himself for the player; he also knew that a born Uncommon player would typically have about 8 extra points added to their attribute stats by Level 4.

But since Jas had been Common Talent before the evolution, it ant that he’d received at least one stat point per level, distributed randomly based on his strengths.

But now that he’d evolved to the Uncommon Talent Tier, he’d been granted 2 extra stat points, almost as if the system were offering compensation rather than a full 4 to complete the 8 an Uncommon Talent player is ant to get.

He could only assign this to the fact that Jas wasn’t born an Uncommon Talent; but rather he was a Common talent which evolved to beco an Uncommon Talent player, and Mystic had no problem with that.

For now, he was just glad the evolution worked perfectly.

Mystic finally moved his hand after making up his mind on which stat points Jas needed most, assigning both to the Endurance attribute, and Jas’s status changed.

Finally, not only did the unassigned stat points disappear, but Jas’s overall power rating rose to 21; it wasn’t a massive jump, but to Mystic it was solid progress.

[X: Check your inventory, there should be an Unclassified-rank elixir Jas needs to take to help his body adapt to the sudden increase in physical ability and his improved talent.]

X, who was still hovering at Mystic’s side, spoke as Mystic reached into his inventory and found a strange small, ancient-looking elixir exactly as X described; while he and the AI conversed, Jas opened his eyes to see his boss talking to the bot, whose words he could only describe as gibberish.

“Boss.” Jas called out, and Mystic moved to help him out of the pod; as he stood, he felt slightly disoriented, stronger, but not yet used to the upgrade.

“Take this. It’ll help your body assimilate to its new state faster, go straight ho and rest; by tomorrow you’ll feel good as new,” Mystic said, pressing the elixir into his hand after reading its description.

Jas was about to leave when Mystic fixed him with a stare, clearly waiting for him to drink it first; seeing that, Jas had no choice but to take it on the spot, then grabbed his clothes, got dressed, and headed out.

To Mystic who was trying to keep his system secret there was no way he would allow his players take anything had given them out without them using it in his presence

“X, have the training bot send the next person in,” Mystic said, planning to spend the whole day in the pod room, pushing every player at the cap to evolve into the next talent tier.
