MIT University, Massachusetts, USA.
The low green grass and so shady trees are a refreshing sight in the morning. Especially when the new sester begins.
Many students pass by heading to their respective classes. So walk with their friends and so just walk alone.
One of them is Ayu Wulandari. An international student from Indonesia.
Her brown skin and ponytailed black hair emphasized that she was not an Arican. She was neatly dressed in a shirt and skirt slightly below the knee.
Although she was already on campus, she still had a little trouble finding her class.
Like a confused duck, her behavior caught the attention of one of the senior students.
Johan had his shirt unbuttoned, revealing his plain black t-shirt.
The blond-haired young man walked over to Ayu. "Are you okay?"
Ayu laughed awkwardly. "It’s fine, I’m just not used to the new environnt. Hehe..."
Johan raised one of his eyebrow and nodded slowly. "New student?"
"Yes... Hehe... I’m a new student. I’m from Indonesia."
Johan smiled slightly and wanted to show his superiority as a senior. "How about I guide you? I can show you around as well as escort you around."
"Really? But you don’t have to," Ayu replied with a friendly smile.
’Wait a minute, she rejected ? Why?’ thought Johan who did not understand the intentions of the woman in front of him.
Ayu clearly needed guidance, and she refused the help?
"Are you sure you don’t want my company?" asked Johan once again.
"I don’t want to be a bother," Ayu replied.
Johan was getting confused? Was she refusing him in a subtle way? Why did she speak so formally?
Johan confird for one last ti. "Why is that inconvenient? I just wanted to show you around."
Ayu smiled and nodded her head slowly. "Alright, I’ll gladly accept the offer."
Ayu imdiately stood beside Johan and prepared to be shown around but Johan remained silent for a few monts.
’What’s wrong with this woman? She refused twice and now she’s accepting?’ thought Johan who still couldn’t believe what he had just experienced.
The two of them walked in the campus area with Johan directions.
"So, what major did you choose?" asked Johan.
"Biosystem engineering," Ayu answered swiftly.
"Oh wow, that’s pretty aweso. So, you study living systems and such? By the way, my major is electronic engineering," continued Johan.
"Well, I’m quite interested in biology."
"No need to be nervous for your first year. It’s my second year and everything is fine as long as you relax."
Ayu gave a small chuckle. "Alright, senior."
"So, you’re studying abroad for bachelor degrees?"
"No, I’m here for Master degrees."
Johan’s steps imdiately stopped. "Huh?! Master degrees?"
Ayu chuckled once more. "Why are you surprised like that, senior?"
’Wait a minute, she’s the sa age as . And I’m only taking a Bachelor degree. Am I too late?’ thought Johan who was monologuing in his own head while Ayu chuckling.

Inside the quiet library, so students were reading books and others were looking for books to help them with their studies, including Johan.
Johan was walking with a book about electricity. And even so, he seed to be looking for sothing...
Sothing that seed unusual for a student with an electronic engineering major.
His class was only about electricity and hardware, but his eyes seed to be searching for a book that had no connection at all.
He started looking through the bio-chemistry section. He wasn’t very good at biology topics but at least he was pretty good at chemistry, especially in the section on reactions between molecules.
But a big question mark remained unanswered.
’Why am I looking for a book on bio-chemistry?’ Johan asked himself.
As he tried to reach for the book, another hand tried to reach for the sa book and their hands touched.
That hand was Ayu’s.
"Senior?" asked a slightly surprised Ayu.
"Uh... Ehm..." Johan stamred a little and was a bit nervous.
"Uh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself earlier. My na is Ayu, Ayu Wulandari," Ayu replied swiftly.
"Ah... Yes, I also forgot to introduce myself earlier. My na is Johan Smith, just call Johan."
Ayu smiled kindly, "Alright, Senior Johan."
For a mont, Johan blushed slightly when he saw Ayu’s smile. But he quickly shook his head and got rid of that montary emotion.
"What are you doing here anyway?" asked Johan, trying to start a new conversation.
"I’m looking for reference books for my assignnt. What are you doing here, Senior?" replied Ayu with a new question.
"Sa as you, I’m also looking for books for study materials."
Ayu looked at the book the two were trying to reach.
"Bio-chemistry? I thought seniors major in electronic engineering. What does this have to do with it?" asked a slightly curious Ayu.
Johan imdiately averted his gaze with a slightly blushing face. "That’s... I.... I was just curious. That’s all."
Ayu’s eyes lit up and a wide smile spread across the woman’s face. "So, you’re also interested in micro-level biology, senior Johan?
Johan took a step back. "Yes... It’s like that..."
Ayu’s eyes sparkled like dazzling stars of hope. And for so reason...
Johan’s eyes could not look away from that gaze.
That look of innocence and ambition. So pure and so optimistic. So brightening...

The door opened and revealed a bit large apartnt. The person who opened the door was none other than Johan’s older brother, William Smith.
A professor who teaches at MIT university.
The man in the white lab jacket walked into the apartnt and found a sight that was so foreign to him.
"Johan? Why are you reading a book?" asked William who closed the door and walked into the living room, where Johan seed so focused on the book in front of him.
"What do you an why? What’s wrong with students studying?" asked Johan who didn’t even take his eyes off the book.
"No, it’s just strange to see you suddenly reading so much."
"Oh shut up! You always complain that I’m not serious about my classes anyway. Why protest now?"
William yawned as he walked into the bedroom. "Alright, whatever you want. I want to sleep for about 3 hours. Don’t forget to cook so dinner."
"Yes... Yes... Go to sleep, I don’t care," Johan replied swiftly.
