The fourth year of living with your sister is the most morable one for you, but it wasn't filled with much happiness.

That year you were ten, excelling in class but unaware of how to hide your talents, which led to jealousy and exclusion from many classmates. You didn't think much of it until one day after class...

You had gone to the restroom and returned to hear a conversation.

"You know Yan Feng from our class, right? I heard his sister is fat and ugly, and he even scolds her, not letting her attend the parent-teacher etings!"

"Really? Is that true?"

"How could it not be? Otherwise, think about it, why does he score so high but no one ever cos to the parent-teacher etings? Isn't it because he's ashad of how his sister looks..."

Before the person could finish, you rushed behind him, giving him no chance to react. You grabbed his collar and slamd him to the ground, then straddled him and punched him squarely on the nose.

A cry of pain, blood gushing from his nose, but you seed to have gone mad, ignoring his pleas, punching him again and again until he stopped struggling and lay on the ground, gasping weakly.

Others wanted to intervene, but you just glared at them, eyes bloodshot, and shouted angrily:

"Get lost!"

…………

Smack!

A notebook was thrown at your face.

It was your horoom teacher, a middle-aged man, his face flushed with anger as he berated you.

"Yan Feng! Do you know what you've done!? How could you hit so hard! Zhang Shan has been sent to the hospital, and if there's any issue with his face, do you know how much responsibility you'll bear!?"

You said nothing, just gritted your teeth, eyes fierce, seemingly not feeling any remorse.

The horoom teacher knew the specifics of the incident, but you had indeed gone too far this ti, and he would also bear responsibility. If not handled well, both the school and the parents would be offended.

So, he launched into a two-hour-long "earnest teaching," unsure if he was criticizing or venting.

From start to finish, you showed no reaction, until...

"Sigh... Now we can only wait for the other parents' attitude. I've already notified your sister, she'll be at the school soon, and Zhang Shan's parents will also co..."

"No!" You lifted your head, eyes filled with unprecedented panic, "Can... can you not call my sister..."

Hearing this, the man rolled his eyes at you, scolding:

"Now you regret it!? Why didn't you stop when you were hitting him?"

You wanted to say sothing, but the next second, the office door was pushed open from outside, and a woman stord in.

She first glanced at your horoom teacher, then at you, and without a word, rushed over, hitting you randomly while scolding:

"You fucking dare hit my son!? You little bastard, today I'm going to make your family pay through the nose!! Make your parents kneel and apologize to my son!!"

Just then, the door opened again, and a figure in a blue and white dress appeared like a hero from a fairy tale, pushing the woman aside and shielding you, eyes fierce, glaring at the woman and shouting:

"If you have a problem, co at ! My own child, it's not your place to teach!"

You were stunned, looking at the frail yet towering figure before you, a sense of unprecedented security surged in your heart, making you unconsciously straighten your spine.

The woman was also startled by Bai Xi's sudden appearance, swallowed hard, but refused to let you off, continuing to scold:

"Hah... I was wondering who it was, my son told long ago, he has a classmate without parents, so what, your kid caused trouble at school, and you push out this little fox spirit?"

You were instantly enraged, ready to pounce on her, but as soon as you moved, Bai Xi blocked you with her arm.

This was the first ti you wanted to defy her wishes.

"Little Feng, listen!"

The young girl shouted in a low voice, this was also her first ti scolding you.

The atmosphere was tense to the extre, the horoom teacher on the side acting as a diator, constantly trying to persuade the two, but they seed to have no intention of stopping.

Bai Xi just gritted her teeth, one hand protecting you, the other clenched into a fist, looking at the woman, and said word by word:

"I ask you now, to apologize to my brother for what you just said, otherwise, we will not let this go!"

Hearing this, the woman laughed in anger, retorting:

"Oh, what, your kid hits soone and he's in the right? He's standing here fine, but my kid is still in the hospital! Tough, huh? Protective, huh? Fine, fine, fine, when the injury results co out, I want you and your brother to pay until you're broke!"

As she finished speaking, the woman's phone in her bag suddenly rang, she quickly picked up the call, looking very worried:

"Yes... I'm at the school... you want to co too? Hmm... what!? Nasal bone fracture!? Retinal detachnt!?"

The woman's eyes widened, looking at you and Bai Xi like a mad dog, gritting her teeth, speaking into the phone:

"Okay... honey, co upstairs... I'm in the office, the other parents and the kid are here too..."

The call ended, and two minutes later, a man pushed the door open and walked in.

Compared to his wife, he was obviously more rational, suppressing his anger, nodding at the horoom teacher in greeting, then turning his gaze to Bai Xi.

Frowning, seemingly puzzled.

Bai Xi deliberately kept her head down, but he still felt very familiar, like he had t her sowhere before...

Wait!

Could it be...

The man was stunned, eyes wide, staring at Bai Xi like he had t a benefactor.

But this look was entirely caught by his wife, who couldn't stand it, swinging her fists at him, still scolding:

"You old bastard! Our son is already in the hospital, and you're staring at her at a ti like this! Don't you care about your son's life or death!?"

"Shut up!!"

The man turned and scolded, giving a look, then turned back, looking at Bai Xi who was still blocking you, smiling:

"Uh... Miss, could you please lift your head?"

Bai Xi said nothing, just remained silent, biting her lip, looking at you, eyes filled with reluctance.

The standoff continued, and finally, she sighed, lifted her head, t his gaze, and said coldly, word by word:

"Uncle Zhang, long ti no see."

"You've gained a lot of weight, seems not being a driver is indeed good for you."
