On a rainy night, a jagged flash of light streaked across the sky, montarily revealing the entire dark world.
A lonely mountain, a highway, and a car already overturned.
Thunder roared, drowning out the Young Girl's urgent cries.
"Uncle! Uncle! Uncle, are you okay!?"
Chen Xi crouched inside the car, bending over to find the man in the driver's seat. She shook his shoulder vigorously but got no response.
Panic set in, and she was at a loss for words. Her trembling fingers reached under his nose to check for breath. Feeling a faint breeze, she finally exhaled in relief.
Thankfully, he was still alive.
But she couldn't rest yet. Thick smoke was already rising from the back of the car, and flas flickered in the rain, threatening to explode at any mont.
The danger lood, pressing her for ti.
"Uncle!"
Another call, but still no response.
Chen Xi had no choice but to forcefully open the car door, half her body hanging out, and slowly pull out her legs trapped in the deford front of the car.
Luckily, her bones and flesh were unhard, just a few scrapes, but her shoes were left behind. All she managed to pull out were her two bare, delicate feet.
Chen Xi didn't care about that. Ti was tight, and she could only grit her teeth, moving the man's body bit by bit out of the seat and dragging him out of the car.
Yan Feng was heavy, nearly 70 kilograms, and unconscious, like a puppet being arduously dragged by her. The entire rescue process was extrely difficult.
In the rain-soaked night, she couldn't see the man's face. The Young Girl gritted her teeth, pulling his body with all her might, repeating over and over:
"Uncle... you'll be okay... you'll be okay... you're mine... I said it, you're mine... mine... always mine!!!"
With her last ounce of strength, a low roar escaped her lips, and finally, she dragged Yan Feng out of the car.
But in doing so, she exposed his left leg, twisted and deford.
After pulling him out, the Young Girl briefly lost her strength. In a mont of carelessness, the unconscious man slipped and rolled off the car, landing on the ground with Chen Xi's startled cry.

Without hesitation, the Young Girl rushed over, cradling his head in her arms, crying tears of joy.
Fortunately, the rain was heavy enough that the car didn't explode, the temperature gradually dropped, and even the smoke eventually dissipated.
It seed their luck wasn't too bad.
Chen Xi laughed foolishly, stubbornly wiping the mud and water off the man's face. Her lips moved, overwheld with the joy of a new lease on life, followed by one passionate kiss after another.
But their danger wasn't over yet.
The rain was pouring, and the car was filled with toxic fus, unsuitable for shelter. Her phone was waterlogged and useless for calling for help. Yan Feng showed no signs of waking, and his left leg was swollen and grotesque...
Realizing the danger, Chen Xi panicked again. Without dical knowledge, she only knew he needed a doctor, but she couldn't contact the outside world, and the road down the mountain was muddy and treacherous...
After so hesitation, she decided to brave the rain, carrying the man on her back, and head down the muddy mountain path toward the village.
The rain outside was heavy, and prolonged exposure to dampness could risk hypothermia. Fortunately, there was a transparent raincoat she had prepared earlier in the car. Though it was greasy and had a strange sll from the heat, it could still shield them from the wind and rain.
But there was only one raincoat.
The Young Girl blushed, biting her lip, shaking her head to dismiss unnecessary thoughts, trying not to look at the terrifying scar on his leg, and carefully dressed him in the raincoat.
After doing all this, Chen Xi was already drenched in sweat, a dreamy smile on her lips, as she slowly and steadily placed the unconscious man on her slender back.
The path down to the village was dark and muddy, yet it was the fastest way to save them both. If not absolutely necessary, Chen Xi wouldn't have chosen this.
But if she didn't, sothing would take her man away—illness, fire, explosion, infection. To protect Yan Feng and save herself, she had to be a selfish woman.
It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from "p𝑎wread".
Silence, brewing, over and over.
The road ahead was muddy from the rain, but there was industrial waste left from road construction, possibly even rusty nails, lurking and waiting.
The mountain road was flat but ti-consuming. Even if she could endure walking barefoot the entire way, the lurking dangers could take her man’s life prematurely.
Chen Xi didn't want to choose, but she had no choice.
Even if the dirt road ahead was full of thorns, making her feet bleed with each step, she had to grit her teeth and move forward.
There was only one chance, missing it could an a lifeti...
She didn't want to face just a smiling photo in the end, whether black and white or of the two of them.
And this dark path ahead... once she stepped on it, there was no turning back...
Unfortunately, Chen Xi was a born gambler. She had already won the biggest bet on Yan Feng and was sure she could win a second ti!
She believed in Yan Feng, and even more in herself.
Moreover, she had a backup plan...
She... wouldn't let him leave her...

Everything was ready, but at this mont, Chen Xi felt a primal fear. Facing the road and the unknown, her legs instinctively weakened, but seeing the scar on his left leg, she steeled herself, barefoot, gritting her teeth, and moved forward!
One step... two steps...
The ground was muddy and slippery, fraught with danger under the cover of night. She stepped cautiously, fearing a misstep that would send them both tumbling into the abyss, never to be found.
But unfortunately, after only a dozen steps, she precisely stepped on a nail hidden in the mud.
"Ah!!!!"
A cry of pain erupted, tears mingling with rain, tracing her perfect jawline, falling to the ground, shattering like an ice lotus blooming in the night.
