Ethan Blackwood loved Claire Shaw’s bashful yet pitiful little expression.

The way she pleaded so cautiously, her big eyes full of grievance and tension.

But she didn’t know, as long as she asked, even if it was for his life, he would give it to her.

Previously, Claire had postponed their etings a few tis because of her period, and now that Ethan was in high spirits, she wasn’t sure if her plea would work.

Ethan Blackwood mischievously kept her hanging without responding.

She didn’t know if n really liked won acting cute with them. Usually, Claire would rather draw a boundary line in public or pretend not to know him well.

Even in the past, the woman who clung to his waist on the bed would turn into a stranger once she got off.

Ethan didn’t think it was wrong to get so benefits for himself.

Claire thought his silence and stern face ant he was angry, so she mustered the courage to please him.

At first, she tried to tug on his sleeve, but Ethan wasn’t wearing a shirt today. With his waterproof, windproof jacket, she couldn’t get a grip, so she had to take the initiative to hold his fingers.

She knew he was tall and strong, with long and thick knuckles.

But it was only when her small hand held his fingers that the contrast beca clear.

Her hands were beautiful for a girl, fair and slender, with neatly trimd and polished nails coated with a shiny protective oil.

In his palm, they looked like a child’s hand in comparison.

One was as delicate as a lady, the other as rugged as a chanic.

The veins on the back of his hand were prominent, especially when he exerted force, giving Claire the illusion that his veins might burst at any mont.

Clearly, nothing had been done yet, but each of his fingers was filled with strong power.

Claire gave a gentle shake, yet the man remained silent, evidently thinking she hadn’t done enough.

Recalling how he loved interlocking fingers with her on the bed, Claire mimicked his actions, embedding her delicate fingers between his one by one.

She did it with the seriousness of a child building blocks.

Just when their fingers interlocked, before she could plead, he already squeezed her hand tightly.

The force was so heavy, it felt like he was going to crush her delicate fingers.

Claire felt a bit of pain but didn’t express dissatisfaction, allowing him to hold her that way. His arm slipped through her neck, and he leaned down, embracing her.

Neither spoke. Claire lay on her back, looking up at the sunset, the canyon about to be cloaked by night, with stars faintly visible.

Breathing in the fresh air that only cos after rain in the city.

Once the sunlight faded, the canyon cooled rapidly. Claire’s exposed arm felt a bit chilly, and even the breeze brought a touch of coolness, dispelling the heat from her body.

In that mont, the world seed to beco tranquil.

Claire thought that even in the future when she recalls this mont, she would feel it was too beautiful.

Ethan felt the sa; even doing nothing, just holding Claire tightly, he could face the end of the world tomorrow with a smile.

The two had never interacted like this before, finding the experience novel.

For the first ti, Claire realized that being with him could bring such peaceful monts.

anwhile, Mia Hughes and Sean Jacobs were getting more intense in their antics, with Mia’s legs weakly wrapped around Sean.

If not for the fear of soone approaching, Sean might have gone further just now.

Mia was overwheld, her face flushed, her eyes filled with lingering enchantnt.

Sean’s voice was husky with desire, "I really want to eat you up."

Even Claire had never seen Mia like that.

Usually dressed in childishly casual clothes, she often spoke without thinking.

At that mont, Claire saw the semblance of a woman in her.

She had matured, blossoming like a luscious peach.

Mia clutched Sean’s clothes, not as jumpy as before.

She pointed to the wet spot on Sean’s cuff, looking embarrassed, "It’s wet."

Sean gave a wicked smile, "Not as wet as you."

"Stop it!"

Mia gave him a playful shove and ran off shyly.

Sean quickly chased after her.

Not until they were out of sight did Claire quietly say, "I’m going back too, lest we draw suspicion."

Ethan watched her retreating figure with a doting smile.

This little girl was braver than anyone when excited, then timid as a mouse once that montum passed.

Just as Ethan was about to get up, his brow furrowed.

He gingerly sat back down while supporting his waist, seemingly having pulled at his wound from holding her earlier.

Pulling open his jacket, there was indeed a bandage wrapped around his waist, with a faint hint of blood seeping through.

Indeed, passion was a sharp blade.

Just as he was about to administer ergency treatnt, Sean’s voice rang out, "No way, bro, you played so hard you started bleeding?"

Ethan gave him a cold glare, prompting Sean to stop joking and look serious.

"Insisting on coming here despite being injured, are you that afraid we’d snatch your Ms. Shaw? Have you not slept for days?"

Ethan didn’t answer, but he was undeniably exhausted.

"Go get sothing to stop the bleeding and so bandages, don’t let her see." Ethan instructed calmly.

Sean shot him a glance, "I always thought you were going for the overbearing CEO vibe, but you’re playing the chaste romance card? I an, I showed you how it’s done, and you just held her for all that ti? Didn’t even steal a kiss, are you even a man?"

Ethan ignored him and changed the subject, "Are you serious about Mia Hughes? If not, don’t go overboard."

He could tell how much Claire cared about Mia.

"I’m not lying, I really like her."

Sean scratched his head, "If I work hard and make sothing of myself, I can stand up to my dad and decide who to marry."

Only then did Ethan avert his gaze, "Go quickly."

"Such a good chance, and you won’t let Ms. Shaw tend to your wound? What a great ploy that could be."

Ethan’s tone was indifferent, "She’s afraid of blood."

In his eyes, the young girl was afraid of insects, darkness, and dealing with live things, so she was undoubtedly fearful of such a bloody wound too, and he didn’t want Claire to know about his injury.

Sean looked at him with a look of profound disappointnt, "Ethan, you’re finished! Before anything even started, you’re already completely overpowered by a woman."

Ethan said nothing, but in bed, the one completely overpowered was her.

Thinking of the way Claire’s soft body was beneath him just a mont ago, whispering that he could do as he pleased tonight.

Ethan felt a warmth in his abdon, as his Adam’s apple subtly moved...
