Claire Shaw’s gaze fell on Ethan Blackwood, and the fork beside her hand slipped to the floor.

Wyatt Lawrence’s lips curved into a smile; he knew no woman could tolerate her boyfriend eting another woman for a date.

Claire bent down, and Wyatt looked at her with lowered eyes, "Senior, are you okay?"

Unexpectedly, Claire gestured for silence from under the table and mouthed to Wyatt, "Don’t let him find out I’m on a date here, or I’m dead."

Wyatt: "..."

Why does Claire’s mind work differently from others?

She’s not jealous but afraid Ethan Blackwood will discover she’s on a date.

How could she doubt a man who sleeps beside her every night?

He’s the only one who’s ever made her truly open up. If even she doesn’t believe in him, how little confidence does she have in this relationship?

She’s afraid of the unknown future, not the reality of Ethan Blackwood.

Regarding this man, unless she catches him in the act, she wouldn’t doubt him.

To doubt Ethan Blackwood is to question her own judgnt.

Besides, just because a man and a woman appear at the café doesn’t prove anything, especially since she’s here because of Miranda Shaw.

Claire was prepared the mont she willingly put on the engagent ring.

She had anticipated such occasions long ago.

Only after making sure Ethan had left did she get up, showing an apologetic smile: "Sorry."

Wyatt was already frustrated to death, but he looked directly at the two parents.

"Mom, are you full?"

Mrs. Lawrence was a bit speechless, as she had only taken one bite of her steak, but since she doted on her youngest, she tactfully looked at Miranda.

"Miranda, would you like to accompany to check if I left my bag upstairs?"

Seeing that Wyatt was interested in Claire, Miranda was more than happy to comply and stood up quickly: "Alright, you guys have a good chat. We’ll take a stroll at the mall first."

Once the parents left, Wyatt spoke up: "Senior, you saw that woman just now, didn’t you? She’s the heiress of a multinational group, matched with Ethan by his grandfather as a potential fiancée."

"Oh." Claire chewed her steak, which was indeed much better than a vegetable salad.

Has she gained two pounds recently? With Ethan feeding her every day, she feared she might turn into a big pig.

Noticing Claire was a bit distracted, Wyatt continued: "It’s clear to everyone that Ethan cares about you, but your background is a liability, and you should exit the relationship before you get hurt. Don’t bla for being blunt; I’m saying this for your own good."

Claire looked up blankly, "What are you talking about?"

Wyatt thought she was imrsed in sadness, and a gentle smile appeared on his lips: "I said I have deep feelings for you, Senior. Would you consider ?"

Before Claire could respond, a familiar male voice interrupted: "You missed your chance."

Ethan Blackwood appeared at her side without her noticing. Claire’s first reaction was to shrink and explain, "Um... I can explain. I really wasn’t sneaking out to et another man as soon as you left. I’m actually a virtuous woman."

She was truly scared. Previously, Ethan sulked all afternoon because of sothing Hayden Quinn had said.

It made Claire realize that Ethan is a jealous man. If she didn’t explain, who knows what would go through his mind?

Wyatt really hadn’t expected this turn of events. What kind of relationship dynamics are these two playing at?

Seeing her cautious explanations, Ethan’s lips ford a doting smile: "Since you’re here, co with to et soone."

"? I’m afraid it’s not convenient."

Whether he’s here for a date or business, it’s not her place to intrude.

Claire remained calm and rational, unlike won who lose their heads at the first sign of jealousy.

Of course, it could also be that she wasn’t in love enough yet, so she could stay grounded and unaffected.

"There’s nothing inconvenient about it."

Ethan took her hand, and their couple rings glinted, making Wyatt’s eyes hurt.

"Lawrence is here too, join us."

Wyatt followed them, feeling despondent. Did he miss his chance again?

Sitting down, Claire finally got a full view of the woman. Her face was beautiful, her outfit and makeup impeccable.

Clearly, like Ethan, she belonged to that world—a world where Claire felt out of place.

"Nina, this is my girlfriend Claire Shaw," Ethan introduced, without any hesitation.

Just as Claire extended her hand: "Hi, I’m..."

A small hand grabbed hers and pulled her close in an instant.

It was like the calm before the storm, quick as a rabbit.

"Let take a look at you. So you’re the woman Mr. Blackwood fancies? Wow, your skin is so fair! What skincare do you use?"

She poked Claire’s face, "Wow, such elasticity. Mr. Blackwood is lucky, such soft white cheeks. I could just eat you up, you look so delicious."

Claire: "..."

Ethan cleared his throat: "She’s a bit crazy with people, don’t mind her."

Claire was nearly in tears, as the woman clung to her like an accessory, poking her face, touching her little hand, hugging her waist.

If Claire hadn’t grabbed her hand, she would have already reached Claire’s thigh!

Ethan’s match was terrifying; she just wanted to go ho.

"Enough!" Ethan reprimanded, and Claire looked at him gratefully.

Please handle your date, or she’ll eat alive.

Claire’s eyes shone with a plea for help.

Unexpectedly, Ethan said solemnly: "That’s my wife you’re touching. Hands off."

"Stingy." Nina withdrew her hand but not before pinching Claire’s waist.

Then she made a rogue-like comnt: "Oh my, such a soft waist."

Claire was nearly scared to tears. What kind of match is this?

Why are the people around the so-normal Ethan so abnormal!

"Ethan, maybe we should switch seats?"

She’d rather Ethan sit with Nina than remain beside this whirlwind.

This woman is ten tis fiercer than Mia Hughes!

Nina grabbed Claire’s hand, "Why run? I won’t eat you, even though you’re so pretty I want to taste you. Mr. Blackwood, I’m a woman, can’t I give her a kiss?"

"Get lost!"

Ethan shot her a cold glance, "Hands off my wife."

Then sothing even more ridiculous happened. As the server brought their food, all three of them, after cutting their steaks, offered them to Claire.

"Senior, try this."

"Little beauty, have so."

Ethan was about to flip the table; how could anyone eat like this?

If he couldn’t eat, neither could they all!

Claire looked at the three steaks in front of her, raising her knife and fork timidly, "I can cut my own, thank you."

I an, wasn’t this supposed to be a dramatic showdown?

Why were all three focused on her?

Teary-eyed, she looked at Ethan, "Ethan, would you like to introduce this Miss Nina to ?"
