Claire Shaw finally understood why Ethan Blackwood was feeling conflicted all afternoon; Hayden Quinn and Ethan Blackwood were complete opposites.

On the surface, Ethan Blackwood was the high and mighty scion of a business empire, but he was actually a very upright man.

Hayden Quinn, on the other hand, seed genteel, but deep down, he was still that mischievous little devil from childhood who would use any underhanded trick to win.

He was the one who taught Claire Shaw how to climb onto the roof and fish out crawfish from the river.

It must have been intentional when he said sothing to Ethan Blackwood, causing Ethan to be in low spirits all afternoon.

Ever since Claire Shaw t Ethan Blackwood, he had been accustod to having control over everything.

Perhaps the only thing he feared losing was her, and this fear of gain and loss was quite rare.

Thinking about how he often teased her in the past, Claire Shaw deliberately counted on her fingers, "There were many tis, let count, once, twice, three tis..."

Hearing Claire Shaw’s serious counting, Ethan Blackwood felt as if the sky was falling.

In a deepened, desolate voice, he asked, "Luna, were you willing?"

Claire Shaw nodded obediently, "Of course, I was willing. Hayden was very gentle to . I liked kicking the blanket at night, and he would always cover back up."

Even if it was sothing from the past, just thinking about the image of Claire Shaw entangled with another man felt like a knife to his heart, the cold wind fiercely blowing through the wound.

Ethan Blackwood gripped the steering wheel tightly, veins bulging on the back of his hands, as his eyes filled with intense murderous intent.

He wanted to kill the man who once owned Luna!

Claire Shaw leaned toward his ear and asked, "Ethan, do you want to know how we slept? I was always a restless sleeper, often kicking Hayden off the bed, but he never got angry with ."

"Stop it, Luna."

"Didn’t you want to hear it, Ethan? Then I’ll tell you everything. On sumr nights, Hayden and I lay on bamboo mats, and back then, we didn’t have air conditioning. The old bamboo mats would pinch your skin, so before sleeping, Mr. Jason would dampen a towel with so floral water to wipe the mat. It was cool and mosquito-proof..."

The more Ethan Blackwood listened, the more he realized sothing was off, "Old bamboo mats?"

Claire Shaw tilted her head, her fox-like eyes wide open, "Yes, Ethan, you grew up in a wealthy family, so you probably haven’t seen it, but over ten years ago, every household had bamboo mats."

"You’re talking about childhood?"

Claire Shaw gazed at him innocently, "Yes, around four years old. My mom often forgot to pick up, so Mr. Jason felt sorry for and often took ho for als; occasionally, I would stay overnight. I was so young then, afraid to sleep alone, so Mr. Jason slept in the middle, with Hayden and on either side. Why are you looking at like that? Did you think of sothing strange?"

Knowing Claire Shaw was deliberately teasing him, the frustration in Ethan Blackwood’s heart quickly dissipated.

He gently flicked her nose, "Ms. Shaw, you’re getting naughtier."

Claire Shaw hooked her arm through his, swaying coquettishly, "I learned it all from you, big brother. You often teased in the past. Did you co so early today just to catch in the act?"

Ethan Blackwood’s face turned slightly red, thankful it was too dark to see.

The eting, ant to last two hours, was abruptly wrapped up in half an hour for fear that Ms. Shaw might be swept away by soone else.

It took him a long ti to bring Claire Shaw ho; now, he had to keep her well-protected.

Seeing he didn’t deny it, Claire Shaw’s lips curled up in a sweet smile, "So my Ethan was jealous; no wonder he didn’t speak to all night."

Claire Shaw snuggled her cheek against his arm, like a small, well-behaved cat showing affection.

"Ethan, I, Claire Shaw, may not be wealthy, but I have a sincere heart. When I decided to wear this ring, it ant that in our relationship, I would not be fickle."

Saying this, Claire Shaw inserted her fingers between his, intertwining them tightly with Ethan Blackwood’s.

"Hayden Quinn holds a special place in my heart; he and Mr. Jason have helped a lot. They are my benefactors and my noble friends, and I am grateful. But aside from familial gratitude, there’s no love for him. Besides, we haven’t seen each other in years. Who’s to say he hasn’t already found a girlfriend? You really think I’m so kind of hot commodity everyone wants."

Claire Shaw’s casual tone made Ethan Blackwood laugh. This girl, she really doesn’t realize how charming she is.

Wyatt Lawrence only heard her play a piece of music and rembered her for so many years. If not for his scheming to send Wyatt Lawrence to other countries, that strong little puppy would still be clinging to her.

First Owen Crawford, then Cecilia Lewis, then Wyatt Lawrence, and now cos this significant next-door big brother.

Luckily, Ethan Blackwood didn’t have a heart condition, otherwise he might just succumb.

This little girl, beautiful yet unaware, soft and delectable like a juicy morsel before a predator, every man wants to claim her.

He clasped Claire Shaw’s hand tightly, wishing he could embed her deep within his bones and marrow.

"Luna, do you rember what I said in the dressing room? I really want to hide you away."

Claire Shaw enjoyed hearing his sweet talk.

"Then hide in your heart."

eting her smiling eyes, Ethan Blackwood couldn’t help but wonder, how could there be such a well-behaved and sensible woman in this world?

Just looking at her made him want to cradle her delicately in his palm.

Word by word, Ethan Blackwood said, "I want to marry you early, have you entirely to myself."

Claire Shaw wrapped herself around him, whispering seductively in his ear, "Besides getting the marriage certificate, there’s another way to belong to you, big brother..."

Her eyes flirtatious like silky threads, the temperature in the car suddenly spiked.

Such a little vixen.

And a snow fox in icy lands, plump and round, with big black eyes that were both adorable and enticing.

Ruffling her little head, Ethan Blackwood said, "You’re injured, we’ll talk about it when you’re better."

"Hmph!"

Claire Shaw puffed her cheeks, sitting back in the passenger seat. This man was perfect in every way, except he beca stingy about this!

That night in the room, she barely got a taste before he rushed away, finally waiting for his return.

Claire Shaw thought she’d get a feast, but even in the car, the man restrained himself greatly.

It’s like going on a diet; you’re hungry all day, dreaming of BBQs and hotpots, only to be served a plate of salad leaves.

Eat it, and you’ll be left unsatisfied.

Don’t eat it, and you’ll starve even more.

Biting her fingernail gloomily on the side, Claire Shaw murmured, "No wonder you’re a capitalist."

Ethan Blackwood laughed silently. This girl, even though he had ulterior motives, it was indeed for her good.

Her arms and feet bore clear injuries, with bruises from falls all over her body.

He feared losing control and hurting her.

Besides, if his kitten was well-fed, she’d naturally think of fun and gas.

He was unsure how long her feelings for him might last; if one day she tires of his body and just leaves, what would he do?

He had witnessed Claire Shaw’s breakup with Owen Crawford, and back then, she didn’t know Owen’s true nature.

Years of affection seed absent when she ended it, and he feared becoming the next Owen Crawford.

His only advantage was Claire Shaw’s desire for him physically, so he had to use that to keep this curious little kitten hooked.

Dangling her, enticing her, drawing her step by step into the trap he ticulously set.

The car pulled up at Silvanest, and Claire Shaw was no longer as formal as before.

She sat in the passenger seat waiting for him to open the door, and Ethan Blackwood was about to carry her when she stretched her arms and pouted, "Carry ."

Ethan Blackwood loved her coquettish deanor, "Alright, carry you."

He turned around good-naturedly, and Claire Shaw flopped heavily onto his broad back.

Using his foot to kick the door shut, Ethan adjusted her body upward, letting the young lady hook her arms around his neck.

"Ethan," she softly called his na.

"Hm?" His voice was magnetic, making her ears feel ever-so-slightly ticklish.

"I finally know why I rely on you so much."

"Why?"

"From childhood, I lacked a father’s love, subconsciously yearning for paternal affliction, and you resemble a father in many ways."

Ethan Blackwood tossed her onto the soft big bed, adjusting his tie with one hand, exuding a roguish, bad-boy charm.

Sexy, wild, making Claire Shaw’s heart flutter.

"Luna, I treat you as my beloved, and you want to be my daughter?"
