Just as Fu Yisi prepared to head to the location indicated on his mobile phone with Ah Mu and the others, a call ca through to Fu Yisi’s phone.
Everyone stopped in their tracks, turning to look at the mobile in the man’s hand.
Fu Yisi’s face grew stern as he glanced at the number displayed on the screen; it was a call from Ji Sang saved as "Wife" in his contacts.
His frown deepened, his eyes turning sowhat dark as he already guessed who it was on the other side. He picked up the phone and before the other party could speak, he said directly,
"No matter what your purpose is, my only demand is that you don’t harm her."
Xiao Su suddenly laughed from the other end of the line.
"Truly like a mber of the Fu Family, you know already before I even say anything."
Fu Yisi had never dealt directly with Xiao Su, let alone heard his voice. However, upon hearing this remark, Fu Yisi had his answer.
"Xiao Su?"
There was a mont of silence on the other end, followed by a burst of laughter.
The laughter was tinged with age, depth, a surprise at Fu Yisi’s acute perception, and also a desperate forlornness.
"You are truly astute; no wonder you could silently bring down the Yi Family."
The veins on the back of Fu Yisi’s hand clutching the phone stood out, and his eyebrows almost twisted together, his voice icy,
"What exactly do you want? Yi Family?"
While speaking, Fu Yisi motioned to drive directly to the location displayed on the mobile.
Xiao Su laughed again from the other end.
"The Yi Family? Hasn’t it already been brought down by you? It’s just an empty shell now."
Xiao Su’s tone was sowhat sinister.
"You’ve made it impossible for us to recover; we are going to make you suffer intolerably."
Fu Yisi instantly understood Xiao Su’s intention.
He didn’t want to use Ji Sang as a bargaining chip; he simply wanted to cause pain to Fu Yisi by harming Ji Sang.
"Xiao Su, whatever Yi Zheng has given you over the years, I can also offer. You were just an accomplice back then. If you are willing to release her unhard, I can try to reduce your sentence, just don´t hurt her."
Fu Yisi was well aware; Yi Zheng was a ruthless person, and so were his subordinates.
"Heh."
Xiao Su scoffed coldly twice.
"Drug trafficking, child trafficking, neither are ordinary cris. Do you think you can reduce my sentence? Fu Yisi, I’m not that foolish. I ask for nothing more than for you to watch how it looks when your beloved dies."
They had been so influential for many years, never imagining that a young upstart could silently bring them down.
"How dare you!"
Fu Yisi nearly gnashed his teeth, signaling to increase the speed of the car.
"Why wouldn’t I dare? It’s just a life after all. Oh, your wife should be awake by now."
As Xiao Su spoke, he started walking towards the place where Ji Sang was held, the sound of his shoes hitting the floor reaching Fu Yisi’s ears, each step also trampling on Fu Yisi’s heart.
Opening the door, Xiao Su’s gaze t Ji Sang’s as she looked up.
"Tsk, Fu Yisi, your wife’s eyes are as beautiful as your aunt’s."
Fu Yisi was almost close to crushing his phone, his voice cold and deep.
"What have you done to her?"
"Don’t worry, I haven’t done anything yet, just drugged her with knockout drops before taking her away; she’s awake now, tsk, she seems unsurprised, very calm, just like you, truly a woman worthy of you."
