Chapter 266: 240

Ji Sang hadn’t expected Fu Yisi to bring up the topic proactively. Although she didn’t nod imdiately, the aning in her eyes couldn’t deceive Fu Yisi.

The man sat down.

He briefly talked about the incident at the police station, telling her, and to a certain extent enabling her to be cautious.

“You’re saying, Li Lei and Cui Yi know each other, and their target that night was ?”

A glint of cold light flashed through Fu Yisi’s eyes.

“Mhm.”

Ji Sang was sowhat puzzled.

“But if the target was , why didn’t Cui Yi make a move when I subdued Li Lei that day.”

At that ti, her hand had been cut by the knife wielded by Li Lei. Under such circumstances, it took all her strength to subdue Li Lei. If… the goal of Cui Yi and Li Lei was to harm her, Cui Yi certainly had the opportunity then.

But she did not do so.

Therefore, Li Lei ended up being apprehended by the police station.

If their target was her, the outco would not have been like this.

Or perhaps, they had other plans in mind.

At this thought, Ji Sang felt a twitch in her forehead and looked up at Fu Yisi, only to see his gaze deep and cold.

It seed they had co to the sa conclusion.

“It’s just, I don’t know them at all.”

Her social circle would absolutely not intersect with theirs, a fact she believed Fu Yisi should know as well.

She had few social contacts, and there were only one or two people she could possibly et up with.

Ji Sang had always been smart. For such a bizarre situation, after much consideration, there was only one possibility. Thinking of this possibility, Ji Sang’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“So, soone has bought over Cui Yi and Li Lei?”

That was the only explanation.

She could think of no other.

It was just too absurd.

There was virtually no chance of any interaction between her, Li Lei, and Cui Yi.

Hearing this, Fu Yisi nodded, his eyes filled with a hint of chill towards the mastermind behind the scenes, but also satisfaction with Ji Sang’s intelligence. It was then that the man felt it was right to have shared this matter with Ji Sang.

His Mrs. Fu was very smart.

“Whew-”

Ji Sang took a deep breath.

“When did I provoke soone again?”

Her tone was a mix of teasing and helplessness.

She thought back to the elevator incident at the TV station after her arrival.

Fu Yisi’s gaze slightly constricted, harboring a guess in his heart, yet he did not voice it.

“From now on, bodyguards from the Fu Family will accompany you when you go out.”

Ji Sang wasn’t particularly upset by this; she felt it was both inevitable and sowhat amusing. If soone really was plotting against her from behind the scenes, they would naturally have many ways and ans to do so.

Of course, having bodyguards accompany her was a thod too.

She herself would also have to be more vigilant.

However…

“Do they have to follow us on vacation as well?”

Ji Sang pursed her lips, sowhat reluctant. This was going to be her first real vacation with Fu Yisi, and she didn’t want bodyguards tagging along all the ti.

Fu Yisi smiled and reached out to ruffle her hair.

“Now we still haven’t figured out who that person is, so it’s better to be cautious. However, we will only bring two, and they won’t appear before you, okay?”

With him by her side for the trip, there was no need for too many bodyguards.

Ji Sang pouted slightly.

“Alright then.”

It had to be that way.

As long as they didn’t appear before her, she would simply act as if they did not exist.

Thinking of the vacation they were going to start this afternoon, Ji Sang’s mood instantly brightened.

Seeing that she seed unaffected, Fu Yisi’s emotions also eased significantly.

“Let’s rest a bit after we finish eating.”

Upon ntioning this, Ji Sang’s face turned slightly red, and her hand subconsciously rubbed her waist.

She really needed a good rest.

Noticing her action, the man chuckled smugly a few tis.

Despite supposed rest, Ji Sang did not let herself go back to the room but sat on the sofa instead. Seeing Fu Yisi showing no sign of weariness as he tidied up the table, she felt sowhat unjust.

Why was it him exerting the effort, and yet she was the one who ended up tired?

Ji Sang couldn’t figure it out.

Fu Yisi was unaware of what Ji Sang was thinking, only finding the way she looked at him sowhat amusing.

Still angry about last night’s matter, huh.

Breakfast was a bit late today; with the need to hurry to the airport soon, there wouldn’t be ti for another al. After cleaning the dining room, the man conscientiously prepared sandwiches and fruits for Ji Sang to eat on the road.

The weather was quite nice today, curtains drawn, sunshine streaming in, making Ji Sang feel increasingly languid. After yawning, she could scarcely keep her eyes open.

Fu Yisi glanced over by chance, only to see her leaning against the couch and falling asleep.

The man paused montarily before silently smiling.

Washing his hands, Fu Yisi took a small blanket to cover Ji Sang. With the recent al and the sunshine warming her, Ji Sang’s face flushed red. She gained a bit of weight recently, looking very much like a pretty, juicy peach.

Fu Yisi couldn’t resist and gently tapped her nose.

Sister Ji Sang twitched slightly but did not awaken.

Fu Yisi dared not be too forward, straightening his hand ready to continue preparing the food for the road.

The phone suddenly rang.

Fu Yisi’s eyebrows tightened as he quickly silenced the call.

Looking down, Ji Sang’s eyebrows were slightly furrowed, showing signs of waking. The man leaned down and kissed her forehead.

“Sleep.”

Ji Sang then relaxed her brows and continued sleeping.

Fu Yisi sighed in relief and straightened up.

He looked at the caller ID for a mont and headed straight to the balcony.

Note: Xiao Feng

Fu Yisi didn’t rush to call back, just took a seat on the small swing on the balcony.

After about ten seconds, the phone rang again.

As if expecting it, Fu Yisi looked at the two characters dancing on the screen, his finger twitched slightly as he answered the call.

“Sister Ah Shang.”

The voice of Yi Feng was sowhat urgent.

Fu Yisi had almost instantly hung up earlier, making Yi Feng, who had heard about the Li Lei incident, feel a sudden jolt in his heart.

Fu Yisi remained silent.

The brief silence allowed Yi Feng to return to calmness.

Still, his concern did not diminish in the slightest.

The information he found led him to so speculations. Likely related to the worries he previously harbored.

“Sister Ah Shang?”

Yi Feng called out again.

Fu Yisi then spoke up.

“I’m her husband.”

Yi Feng fell into silence.

There wasn’t much interaction between the two n before; their only commonality was probably their concern for Ji Sang.

Yi Feng had a lump in his throat.

Why would it be Fu Yisi answering Ji Sang’s phone call? Without thinking, he knew.

Probably Ji Sang was busy, her phone not with her, or perhaps she was resting.

Anyway…

That was a matter between husband and wife.

In the end, Yi Feng simply asked one question,

“Sister Ah Shang, recently….”

Yi Feng didn’t know how to phrase it; he wanted to ask about the Li Lei matter.

But he didn’t expect that Fu Yisi would say such a thing.
