Chapter 255: Chapter 229: But I am the Father!
Chang Li had said those words in a mont of anger, and he realized imdiately that he shouldn’t have. But Fu Yisi’s attitude made him swallow the apology that was on the tip of his tongue.
“What are you being so smug about? It’s none of your business in the first place.”
It was as if Chang Li had found a breakthrough.
“In that case, tell Ah Mu’s location, and I’ll keep this incident to myself forever.”
But it seed Chang Li hadn’t learned his lesson; he couldn’t use threats with Fu Yisi, especially not involving the person Fu Yisi cared about most.
Fu Yisi was done with the idle talk.
“Keep causing trouble, and Ah Mu’s return will be delayed by another month.”
Chang Li: …..
Fuming with anger, shaking all over, yet entirely powerless. He opened his mouth, fingers pointed at Fu Yisi, standing frozen in that pose for quite a while before he finally let out a sigh.
“Then you can at least tell when he’ll be back.”
He needed to have so kind of hope to cling to in his worry and longing.
“A month and a half.”
Chang Li’s pupils slightly dilated.
“See! You knew all along! It’s hopeless, totally hopeless!”
Anger drove Chang Li to pace back and forth in the office. Seeing Fu Yisi’s impassive and ruthless face, he felt suffocated inside and stord out, slamming the door behind him.
Fu Yisi’s eyebrows twitched slightly as he shook his head helplessly.
When it ca to Ah Mu, Chang Li beca just like that brat Ling Yuxuan—frantic and thoughtless.
Though Fu Yisi had a full schedule today, being the Deputy Director most of his tasks involved administrative work. With Fu Yisi’s temperant, he managed to squeeze most discussions and etings to roughly two-thirds of their initial ti.
Yet, there was one particularly important matter for the day.
Su Ge was coming to the hospital for a checkup.
Due to Su Ge’s public figure status, this checkup required extra caution. Dean Han had arrived at the hospital early in the morning and repeatedly reminded the head of the obstetrics and gynecology departnt.
The checkup itself couldn’t be simpler, but since Dean Han had been looking forward to it for so long, it was naturally a big deal for him. So when there was a eting, Fu Yisi sped up the process, cutting out so unnecessary steps, and Dean Han didn’t say much.
After all, it was his brother’s joyous occasion. After the eting, Fu Yisi took the ti to visit the obstetrics and gynecology departnt’s floor. By the ti he arrived, Su Ge had already gone in for her checkup, and Han City didn’t have the privilege of following her in.
The main reason was that the head of the obstetrics and gynecology departnt was also quite close to Dean Han, and treated Han City like his own nephew. When Han City wanted to follow in, he was directly scolded.
“If you can’t even wait this short while, think about how many more months you’ll need after the baby is born.”
That single sentence blocked Han City at the door.
“Fourth, do you know how long this checkup is going to take?”
Fu Yisi’s eyebrows raised slightly.
“I’m a surgeon.”
How should he know about the business of obstetrics and gynecology.
Han City glanced at him dissatisfied.
“After working here for so long, haven’t you picked up even a little bit of information?”
Fu Yisi: …..
“It won’t take long.”
But it was Han City’s first ti becoming a dad, so his excitent was understandable. As Su Ge was having her checkup, blind and deaf to everything outside, he could only talk to Fu Yisi with so disjointed thoughts.
“Do you think they can find out anything now?”
“Will the baby look more like or like Sister?”
“Boy or girl? I hope it’s a darling daughter, I’ll raise her like a princess.”
“Why is it taking so long to go in?”
Fu Yisi: ….
Can’t you have so common sense?
The man checked the ti with a glance at his wrist.
“Only two minutes have passed. The baby isn’t even fully ford yet; you can’t tell anything.”
Han City detected a hint of mockery in Fu Yisi’s offhand remark and the thoughts that had been aimlessly swirling around suddenly ca back into focus.
He looked at Fu Yisi, a smile breaking across his face.
“Forget it, you wouldn’t understand. It’s who’s going to be a dad!”
As Han City spoke, his brows arched in joy and boasting, almost swaggering.
Han City looked forward to seeing a trace of envy on Fu Yisi’s face. After all, since childhood, the guy had never seed to desperately want anything; he always had clear targets and seed to progress step by step according to his plan.
Fu Yisi seed too calm.
So calm that it made people think his life was too dull.
Calm without a ripple.
Therefore, when Han City learned that Fu Yisi was sohow forced into a prospective marriage eting and then a flash marriage, he felt a bit of schadenfreude. He anticipated whether Fu Yisi’s life would beco more colorful in the future.
But, Han City was destined to be disappointed.
Not only did Fu Yisi not show any hint of envy, he even smiled when he looked at Han City.
“I’m not in a hurry. She and I still need to enjoy our world for two. Once the little one arrives, he will inevitably take a lot of her attention, and I don’t want that.”
Moreover, Ji Sang’s health hasn’t fully recovered yet.
Having a child would be an enormous physical burden on her.
Han City: …..
He never expected Fu Yisi to answer like that, and what was worse, he couldn’t find fault with it nor did he know how to retort.
Because what Fu Yisi said was truly correct.
After getting pregnant, the ti he and Sister would have for each other would certainly diminish, and Sister would undoubtedly divide her attention to take care of the future baby. And on top of that, there was considering the matter of her career coback…..
“Jeez, Fu Yisi, can’t you say sothing more congratulatory? Even so, I’m happy. I’ve finally seen the fruit of our love.”
Han City knew that Fu Yisi and Ji Sang hadn’t had any feelings for each other before their marriage; they had possibly started to develop them during the ti Ji Sang returned to the country.
Naturally, when he and Sister had been together for so long and were still in the honeymoon stage, wanting to continue their world of two was understandable.
“Uh-huh, when my nephew arrives, I’ll give him a big red envelope.”
After saying that, Fu Yisi intended to head back to his office.
“That’s more like it.”
After muttering, Han City felt sothing was off, and shouted after Fu Yisi’s retreating figure,
“It’s a daughter! A daughter!”
Fu Yisi hooked the corner of his mouth upward but didn’t turn back to respond.
……
Yujing Apartnt
It was after Ji Sang had almost finished tidying up that she rembered she hadn’t contacted Min Yunwen for a while.
She was worried those carefree old n had forgotten about helping her take wedding photos.
The first phone call didn’t go through, and the second call was almost disconnected before it was picked up.
“Hello?”
The tone was a bit sharp and nasal.
Ji Sang paused.
“You’re not still sleeping, are you?”
She looked at the phone incredulously.
Four o’clock in the afternoon.
Recognizing Ji Sang’s voice, Min Yunwen propped himself up and yawned unabashedly.
“Just woke up.”
“An afternoon nap?”
Min Yunwen chuckled a bit.
“Sort of.”
He had gone to sleep after returning from the hospital.
Solving a big issue, only sleep could help him recover.
Ji Sang didn’t want to interfere with others’ daily routines and directly asked,
“You rember the matter about helping photograph the wedding dress, right? It’s in a few days.”
Min Yunwen reached up and scratched his hair.
“Rember.”
“That’s good. I’ve booked your flight and hotel. Just co over when it’s ti.”
“Okay.”
After finishing speaking, Ji Sang was about to hang up when Min Yunwen suddenly spoke up,
“Right, you didn’t forget, did you? About your promise to go to the South Sea with ?”
