Max didn’t reveal much when he returned to Ivy’s room. Claiming it to be so work-related matter, he brushed it off lightly and joined their conversation.

The group stayed for more than an hour before deciding to leave. After all, it was close to dinner ti, and Max had a lot to do now that he had an explosive piece of news.

"We’ll see you again, Ivy. Take care." Sasha hugged Ivy, rendering Ivy helpless against her passion.

Sasha was an emotional person, more than anyone else in the group. So, she was reduced to tears after seeing her best friend’s state. Now that Ivy was fine and recovering well, she felt better and relieved.

Ivy patted her back and consoled her while glancing at the other three. They were watching the exchange with faint smiles on their faces.

Finally, after a few seconds, Sasha let go of Ivy.

"Now, listen to carefully, Ivy." Sasha looked at her seriously and Ivy quirked her brows questioningly.

"Your only responsibility is to look after yourself and recover well. If you dare ignore my words, I’ll... I’ll..." Sasha hesitated, not knowing what to say for a mont.

"You’ll what, Sasha?" Ivy wrote on the notepad, probing her to reply. Although she was amused by her friend, she didn’t show anything on her face. After all, Sasha was warning her seriously. If she were to smile or reveal her thoughts at such a mont, it’d only irk her more than she already was.

"I’ll not talk to you. Try if you dare." Sasha glared at her and Ivy raised her hands in surrender.

"I wouldn’t dare. Never." She shook her head as an added emphasis. "How can I bear to anger my dear friend? It would pain to see you annoyed with ," Ivy said in all seriousness, her amusing thoughts vanishing for a mont.

"That better be the case." Sasha nodded and stood up before joining her friends.

"So, we’ll see you, Ivy." Max nodded at her and the group took leave a few seconds later.

Joshua had been waiting for this mont. The instant the four left, he entered the room and Ivy gave him a questioning look as if asking him why he had returned.

"Hey, Ivy. I missed you so much," Joshua drawled and jumped on the bed beside Ivy, startling her with his actions. "The past one hour or so was like an eternity for and you have no idea how much I wanted to barge inside and join you."

Ivy rolled her eyes, unable to tolerate the stupid man’s nonsense.

"Anyway, what did you guys talk about?"

Ivy remained silent. He didn’t need to know that.

"Forget that. It’s your conversation with your friends. I don’t want to probe into it. Shall we talk about sothing else?" Joshua didn’t mind her silence. Even though Ivy wasn’t looking at him, it didn’t matter to him.

’Soone, please take him away from here," Ivy cried, hoping her sister to return soon.

"Don’t love traveling? Tell all the places you want to visit. Let’s go together." Joshua’s words ca out more like a promise and Ivy’s head snapped towards him instantly.

’Have you gone crazy?’ Ivy showed her notepad to him and Joshua burst out laughing.

"If being crazy about you, crazy for you, and loving you crazily entails to being crazy, then yes, I have gone crazy," Joshua stated as a matter of fact and Ivy was rendered speechless.

’Go and be crazy sowhere else. Leave alone.’

"No, never. I’m never going to leave you alone. I did it once which I forever regret. Never again." Joshua’s face lost its smile as he spoke with all seriousness.

Ivy gave him a distasteful look before turning her head away. What a nace!

"Shall I massage your legs?"

Joshua didn’t wait for her to reply and pulled away her duvet, exposing her legs to him.

Ivy’s eyes widened and she looked at him suspiciously.

’What the hell are you doing?’

"I’m going to massage your legs. Didn’t Ian say it’s good for your recovery?"

Ian did say that and Aria too agreed with him. So, they had booked physiotherapy sessions for her, starting two days later.

"You don’t have to do it."

"Nonsense. Now shush and let massage your legs."

For convenience’s sake, Ivy was wearing shorts, and her thighs and legs were exposed to Joshua. However, there was no malice or ill intentions in his eyes. Ivy noticed and even felt it when he started massaging her legs, beginning from her ankles.

Joshua was as careful as ever as he started massaging her. Ivy felt his soft touch and her body shuddered, a reaction that didn’t go unnoticed by the man. His lips curved up joyously as he continued with his actions.

’Ivy is still affected by . She has feelings for . That is all I need,’ he thought, his heart bubbling with joy. Ivy could say all she wanted. But her heart was true to its feelings.

Ivy couldn’t move her legs. But that didn’t an she had lost all the feelings in her legs.

Ivy felt Joshua’s gentle touch and his soft caresses. It was as if he was handling sothing he treasured the most.

For a second, Ivy forgot about all that happened. She forgot how cruelly he had broken up with her, shattering her heart and rejecting her confession. She forgot that dreadful night and stared at him with unfathomable emotions.

’How different would the situation be if we hadn’t broken up that day?’ she wondered.

Ivy didn’t have much ti to probe into her thoughts. A piercing pain tore into her mind and she closed her eyes tight.

Joshua noticed her flinching and he looked up imdiately. Ivy had broken out into a cold sweat and was taking in deep breaths.

"Ivy, what’s wrong? What happened?" He moved closer to her and looked at her in concern.

"Ian!" he shouted as he pulled Ivy into his arms.

"Ivy, are you in pain? What’s wrong, Ivy?" Joshua panicked. He didn’t know what to do or how to attend to Ivy.

"Ian!" Joshua shouted again, hoping his friend would co soon.

"Ivy, please tell you’re fine. Please be fine." Joshua pulled out his phone as he looked for Ian’s number. "Hold on a mont. Let call Ian."

Joshua was glad that Ian was yet to leave for work. "Ian, co to Ivy’s room right now. She seems to be in pain."

After calling, Joshua threw his phone aside and returned his focus to Ivy, who was still panting lightly with her eyes closed.

"Ivy, please tell you’re alright. Please be fine."

Ivy’s eyes snapped open and she cald down a few seconds later.

"Are you okay?"

"Don’t worry. I’m okay," she opened her lips and assured him, and Joshua was taken aback while Ivy’s eyes widened in shock.
