"Hey, Ivy has . There is no need for any more n," Joshua rebuked, and once again, Ivy rolled her eyes.
’Who wants you?’ she thought and gave him a look of despise, rendering the man speechless.
"Don’t look at that way, Ivy. Otherwise, I’ll feel you’re in love with ," Joshua teased and Ivy scoffed.
Aria shook her head helplessly when she saw Ivy’s face flush red in anger. Joshua knew the exact things to say to irk soone. What a talent!
"By the way, it’s been quite so ti since we saw Daniel and Rachel What’s up with them?" Aria gave Noah a questioning look. She had been so involved in taking care of her sister that she had forgotten about her friend.
Daniel and Rachel had only visited them twice at the hospital and there had been no news about them since then, not even a phone call. It was completely unlike them and Aria couldn’t help but worry.
Ivy too stared at Noah questioningly. Even though she had a Tom and Jerry relationship with Daniel, he was still her friend.
"There is so tension at work and with Daniel’s father entering the politics, they had held up with so matters," Noah explained.
"Is Mr. Adler entering politics?" Aria was surprised by the information. She had never expected him to. But it wasn’t that shocking considering the profession he was in.
"Yeah. He is yet to gain a strong foothold. But don’t worry, he has a bright future as far as I can predict." Noah gave her a profound look and Aria understood him imdiately.
"And as for Daniel and Rachel, they aren’t in the city currently. But they have been in touch with almost daily, asking about Ivy and you," he clarified. "They will return in two days."
"Oh." Aria nodded. "That sounds good."
’May I ask sothing?’ Noah’s phone was still with Ivy. So, she typed the question and showed it to Aria.
"Sure, Ivy. What’s up?"
’What happened to Jared?’
Since she woke up, no one had spoken about Jared or anything related to the mishap she had faced. She understood that they were trying to protect her and not trigger her emotions by bringing up the traumatic day.
But her ntal health was good and she could handle any matter. She wasn’t as fragile as they thought them to be.
Aria glanced at Noah who was staring at Ivy worriedly.
"Ivy..." she hesitated.
’I want the truth, Aria. I can handle it.’ Ivy typed and held the phone before them.
"We’ve captured him," Noah finally revealed, his eyes not once moving away from Ivy.
’Police?’ Ivy wasn’t surprised by the reply. With Noah’s influence and power, it wasn’t hard for him to track Jared and capture him.
Noah shook his head. "I don’t trust the law. He’s held captive in the base, awaiting his death."
Ivy quirked her brows at him questioningly.
"He’s waiting for you to kill him," Noah clarified.
’Fair enough.’ Ivy nodded.
Noah was actually surprised. Ivy’s ntal health was better than Aria’s. She was oddly calm while Aria was getting worked up slowly.
However, he understood the situation as well. While Ivy was being tortured, Aria had been forced to watch it. The feeling of almost losing her sister had left a deep impression on her, igniting strong resentnt in Aria for Jared or anything related to him.
Aria was close to losing it. Noah noticed the change in her and so did Joshua. But Ivy didn’t. She was lost in her thoughts and did not notice Aria’s condition.
"By the way Ivy, Max, Kira, Sasha, and Cedric wanted to et you. Do you want to et them?" Noah spoke loud enough for Aria to snap out of her trance and she blinked a few tis to clear her head and get involved in the present.
Ivy nodded her head frantically. She was dying out of boredom and needed sothing to keep her occupied. Since she could only start working after a week, she might as well spend the ti eting her friends and family.
"I’ll inform them. They might co here to et you tomorrow evening and the day after. Is that fine?"
Ivy nodded again.
"Great."
Ivy was happy. Her life was slowly getting back to normal and she could return to work in a week or so. Even though she couldn’t do any field work, she was still satisfied. Jared was caught and there was no looming threat. Everything was wonderful. She just had to focus on recovering well and gaining her speech and mobility back.
Joshua was srized. He tilted his head and stared at Ivy lovingly. She had a peaceful smile on her face and a sense of serenity that curbed the daemons in his heart. This was all he wanted, this was all he needed.
Ivy noticed Joshua’s enthralled expression and she sneered.
’Why are you even here?’ She turned the phone for him to see.
"Why can’t I be here?" Joshua questioned back in confusion. His smile vanished and he gave her a puzzled look.
’This ain’t your house.’
"Who told?"
Ivy looked at him suspiciously.
"This is Noah’s house. Noah is my friend. So, his house is my house," Joshua said, rendering Ivy speechless.
’You’re crazy.’
"For you. About you. Yes, I’m crazy," Joshua spoke with such seriousness that Ivy didn’t doubt him. The crazed expression on his face and the sparkle in his eyes proved it.
"Moreover, my beloved here. I can’t and don’t want to leave her alone," he added. "From now onwards, I’ll go wherever she goes."
Ivy started to have an ominous feeling all of a sudden and she frowned lightly. A chill went down her spine and she shivered.
"Are you cold, Ivy? Do you want to go inside?" Aria noticed her state and questioned her imdiately. The breeze was turning into a cold wind and if they didn’t go in soon, they would surely catch a cold.
Ivy rubbed her elbows and nodded at Aria who stood up imdiately, prompting the two n to stand as well.
Aria pushed Ivy’s wheelchair inside while Noah stopped Joshua.
"A word, please."
"Yes, Noah? What’s up."
"I’m taking Aria to a psychiatrist tomorrow."
"Yeah, I know."
"Can you hide this from Ivy? We don’t want her to be stressed."
"I understand, Noah. Don’t worry," Joshua assured him. "Have you told Aria about it?"
Noah nodded.
"How was her reaction?"
"She accepted her situation calmly."
"That’s good. She will not neglect herself and ignore her treatnt."
"Hopefully."
Noah didn’t know how intense her PTSD was. He only hoped that both the sisters recovered quickly and that everything return to normal as soon as possible.
