Aria stared coldly at the man before her. Although she wasn’t satisfied with what she had done and wanted to do more damage to him, it’d suffice for now. She could always tornt him until he cried for death once he woke up. After all, they’d be keeping him alive until Ivy recovered completely and that would take at least a few weeks.
The entire fiasco was seen by the n around, and they shuddered when they saw the spot the knife was piercing. For the first ti since they knew Aria, they realized how rciless she could be and made it a note to never cross her in their lives.
Jared’s n were subdued in no ti, and all of them were forced to kneel on the floor while Jared was tied with a rope, rendering him completely immobile. Nobody dared to remove the knife until Aria succumbed and removed it herself before stabbing it hard on his thigh again, forcing the unconscious man to wake up.
Jared woke up with a scream but stopped when he saw the situation around him. All the people he hated and wanted to kill were standing before them as they watched him coldly and the lady whose sister he had intended to kill was crouching in front of him as she smiled at him crookedly.
"Congratulations, Jared." Aria’s voice was filled with nace. "You’re no longer a man."
The pain that he had temporarily forgotten returned a thousandfold, and he broke out into a cold sweat. He couldn’t look down. He didn’t dare look down for fear that he’d see sothing that would give him nightmares for life.
"You..." He tried moving. But the rope stopped him, and every ti he moved, he’d aggravate his wounds, causing him more pain.
"What did you think?" Aria started, leading the entire scenario while the others looked on. "Do you think you could do as you pleased and we’d sit and do nothing?"
Jared was too consud in pain to listen to her words. He kept trying to stop himself from crying out. He was bleeding from his thighs and so other place that he knew would be damaged for life.
"Do you think we’d do nothing after you almost killed my sister?"
This caught Jared’s attention, and montarily, suppressing his agony, he stared at her with narrowed eyes. "Did you orchestrate all of this?"
"What do you think?" Aria smirked and watched the man in total disbelief.
"Impossible. There’s no way. Nobody knew I was coming back to the country. Nobody but..." Jared noticed a movent from his peripheral vision, and his heart dropped when he saw Preston walking from behind him.
"You..." Words failed him at that mont as he continued to gawk at Preston.
Aria stood up and moved away from Jared, allowing Preston to take her place. Silently, she returned to Noah, who held her shoulders and examined her for any injuries.
"I’m fine, Noah." She tried, only to shut up when she saw his warning glance. The man was annoyed, and she knew the reason behind it. She had done sothing without consulting him and had put herself in danger. She didn’t dare speak a word and allowed him to do as he pleased.
’Looks like I’ll have to think of ways to appease him later.’ She thought, not knowing how difficult of a task it’d be for her.
Noah was not just annoyed. He was fucking pissed. The plan was for Ian to signal them, and they’d capture Jared and his n while hiding from them. He never realized that Aria was carrying knives with her and that she intended to deal with Jared herself.
His heart had almost jumped out of his chest when he saw Aria fighting Jared. Fortunately, she had rendered Jared immobile and injured before the man could take action and hurt her instead.
Noah didn’t doubt Aria’s skills even once. He knew that she was adept at fighting and could handle herself well. But the man she was dealing with was Jared. He was cunning, cruel, and worse than a devil. If he had been alert and hadn’t been caught off-guard by the sudden attack, he wondered what would’ve happened.
Just the re thought of Aria getting hurt made him lose his mind, and his mood worsened all the more.
Aria felt the change in him instantly, and she looked at him pitifully, hoping for him to forgive her. However, all she got in return was a cold snort as Noah continued to examine her for any injuries. He didn’t stop until he was satisfied.
Aria gave him a puppy look, her usual trump card against him. But it had no effect on him at all. He just looked at her coldly before he let her go.
Aria, however, had no intentions of letting him go just like that. Inching closer towards him, she clasped his hand and scratched his palm. But Noah freed his hand from her and stepped away from her, much to Aria’s disbelief.
Aria wasn’t disappointed, however. Instead, she moved closer towards and clasped his palm tight, not allowing him to escape this ti.
"Sorry." She whispered. But Noah didn’t even look at her.
"I’m so sorry."
Again, there was no response.
"I love you."
And that broke Noah’s defenses against her. He finally turned towards her and gave her a look that Aria couldn’t understand. She raised her brows questioningly, wondering what was running in his mind.
’What do I sense danger all of a sudden?’
Aria wasn’t frightened when she was dealing with Jared. She wasn’t worried for herself even for a mont. But now, she was terrified. There was sothing odd in the way Noah was looking at her, and she couldn’t stop the ominous feeling from creeping in on her.
"Be prepared," Noah warned, and Aria blinked at him a few tis in confusion.
’Prepared? Prepared for what?’ She wondered.
"Once we handle all of this, it’ll be your turn, and a re word of apology will not work on this ti."
