While Aria and Stuart continued to follow the people ahead of them, remaining as hidden as possible, Noah was distressed on the other side. He broke out into a cold sweat when he recalled Aria’s call. He had been in an important eting all day and the place he was at had bad signal reception. So, he had no idea what had happened outside.
It was only when he was on his way back that he received Aria’s voice note in the group and his heart skipped a beat when he heard about Ivy being kidnapped.
At first, he assud it to be a prank, a cruel, heartless prank. But Aria was not a person to play a terrible prank. Imdiately, he called Aria and when he heard her cry over the phone, his rationality snapped completely. He couldn’t think straight at all and even more so when the call ended abruptly.
Once, twice, thrice, no matter how many ever tis he called afterward, her phone was not reachable. "Fuck!" He was exasperated and he called Joshua imdiately.
Ronnie remained quiet as he drove like a racer on the road, avoiding the other cars brilliantly. He had heard the voice note. Even though the words were incoherent, they could discern the issue. Just like his Boss, he too was anxious. But he still tried to calm himself down. Only one among them could take on all the worries and he had handed it over to his Boss who was slowly going mad in anger and worry.
"Joshua, what the heck is happening? How did Ivy get kidnapped? Wasn’t she with you?" Noah bellowed on the phone and Joshua listened to him without intervening. He was at fault. He was all at fault. It was all due to him that Ivy had fallen into the hands of danger. In the process of protecting his heart, he had not just hurt her heart but put her entire life in jeopardy.
"Noah, it’s a long story. Please help . Ivy is in danger." Joshua begged. Although he had already commanded the people in the Underworld, he still needed Noah to help him. There were quite a few factions in the Underworld who listened to Noah alone as he was their leader. They were stronger than the others and could overpower anyone with their strength.
However, they only worked on important and dangerous missions. He needed them right now.
"Joshua, I’m on my way. It’ll take around thirty minutes to reach the location Aria had sent us before her phone lost connection. Are you close by?"
"I’m almost nearby. And Kaito and the other guards are right behind ."
"Okay. I’ll dispatch all the people from the Underworld. Just handle the matter over there until I arrive."
"Yes, Noah."
"Ronnie, drive faster. Ivy is in danger." Noah was like a feral beast. He didn’t have to think twice to know who the mastermind behind the kidnapping was. Although he had planned to tackle Jared first once an important matter was settled, the man had been a step ahead. Instead of harming Theo or his Grandpa as he had assud him to, he had instead shifted his attention to the ladies, more specifically the ladies who matter to him the most.
Noah’s heart dropped when he thought of Ivy. But what perturbed him the most was how had Ivy ended up in such a vulnerable situation.
’Wasn’t she celebrating Joshua’s birthday with him? How did things co to this? What the hell happened that put Ivy in danger?’ Noah wondered. ’Did sothing happen between Joshua and Ivy? Why did he sound....guilty?’
Noah had not missed the change in Joshua’s tone and his mind started to imagine the worst. But those matters could be dealt with later. It was more important to reach Ivy first and save her.
Without hesitating, he contacted the leader of the factions who only listened to him and ordered him to leave quickly with his group. The battle had started and he had to give his best to save Ivy.
Barely had he finished giving out the instructions to his n, Ian called him and his condition was no less different than his.
"I’m unable to reach Aria. Is she following Ivy alone?" Ian couldn’t hide his anxiety and Noah heard the screech of tires from the other side of the phone.
"Ian, be careful on the roads. I have already dispatched all the n from the Underworld. Don’t put yourself in danger."
"Noah, are you sure you want to follow your words this ti?" Ian’s impatience got the best of him and he snapped imdiately.
Noah went silent at his question. But he had given him the consent to do as he pleased.
"Have you spoken to Aria?" Ian questioned when he didn’t hear anything from Noah.
"Yes, I did. But I lost connection after so ti. Fortunately, she’s not alone. Stuart is with her."
"Thank God. At least, she has soone to rely on. Noah, how far away are you from the location?"
"I’ll need another twenty or more minutes. What about you?"
"Sa. I hope the sisters are alright. They.."
"They’ll be, Ian." Noah interrupted him, his voice turning low imdiately. He was suppressing a lot of emotions and only Ronnie knew his state. "They have to be. Nothing will ever happen to them."
"I understand, Noah. I’ll call you once I reach the location."
"Ronnie, how did the situation co to this?" Noah sighed, his eyes red and filled with madness, one that sought blood to calm down. "Prepare yourself. There will be bloodshed today." Noah was livid and he was filled with bloodlust. Nobody could stop him, not even Aria. The ferocious beast in him was ready to hunt and he was prepared their rip them apart. They dared to touch his family, his loved ones. They now had to bear the consequences.
Usually, it would take around forty minutes to the location Aria had sent him from the place he was at initially. But with Ronnie’s swift driving, they reached the spot in twenty minutes.
"Boss, we are here," Ronnie stated suddenly with a frown. "But I can’t find anything here. It just seems...."
"Is there a shortcut sowhere here? I rember seeing one a few ters from here so ti ago." Noah pointed out and Ronnie drove slowly before he found the road that was completely concealed from the traffic. It was only visible on a closer look and could be missed easily.
"Boss, I see Master Martin and his guards. He must be waiting for us." Ronnie leaned forward to take a closer look and his eyes widened when he noticed another familiar car at the side. "Boss, isn’t that Madam’s car? Why is it parked here?"
Noah got out of the car even before it ca to a halt and ran towards Aria’s car like a madman. The door was unlocked and he opened it imdiately.
"She’s with Stuart, Noah." Joshua’s voice fell on him and Noah turned around to face his friend who seed haggard and unkempt. His eyes were red and sunken and he looked unhealthy.
"She left a note for you." Joshua handed the tissue paper and Noah snatched it eagerly.
The words on the tissue paper were smudged. But he understood the words and he closed his eyes, hoping for all the three people to be safe by the ti he reached them.
"Have you scouted the place? What’s the status?" Noah opened his eyes and took deep breaths to calm his racing heart.
"Noah, I have sent out n already and I’m waiting for a ssage from them. It’s not that there is no signal here. There are jamrs blocking the signals and I’m unable to stop them. It requires quite so ti to crack and currently, my mind is not working."
Noah looked at him mysteriously. Sothing in his gaze forced Joshua to avert his eyes. He was already drowning in guilt and Noah’s glance only made him all the more ashad and regretful.
"We’ll have a good chat once all this is over." Noah’s tone was filled with threat which Joshua didn’t mind. He was at fault and he had to be punished severely for what he did.
"Have you brought your walkie-talkies?" Noah glanced at Ronnie who pulled out all the devices they needed for what lay ahead of them. "Fortunately, you designed a device that could bypass the jamrs, Jo."
"What are we going to do, Noah? Are we going to..."
"Ian is sowhere close. We will formulate a plan by then. Since we do not know where this place leads to and how far we are from Aria and Ivy, we will drive our cars as long as we can. Spare no one from the enemy side. Rember, we need to save Aria, Ivy and Stuart. You may kill everybody else."
Ronnie passed Stuart’s picture for all the guards to see and they morized the man’s face imdiately.
"Also, all the factions of the Underworld will reach here soon. Please cooperate and help us save our family. At the sa ti, please be safe. You all are equally important to us as well. We don’t want to lose any one of you."
Noah lowered his head and Joshua followed suit. Even though they led the Underworld and commanded all the n, they still treated them with respect and gratitude, just like their family.
Ian was quick to arrive and with him, all the other people from the Underworld arrived as well.
Noah explained the plan to all the n again and once everyone was geared up, they prepared for the inevitable war.
