Even though Joshua was teasing Ivy, his mind was filled with disturbing thoughts. Many things had transpired in just a few days and he did not know what to concentrate on first. They collided with each other like no other, forcing him to focus on them simultaneously.

While Grandpa Carter was yet to gain consciousness, there was the man who he and Ian were both certain to be Theo, who had killed Charles for reasons they could not fathom. And above all, Jared had gone missing after the explosion at the port, putting him and his loved ones in danger's spotlight.

Frustrated, Joshua ran a hand through his hair and pulled out his phone before he looked in the direction Ivy had gone. Although he wanted to follow her, he had another matter to attend to first.

"Maggie, thank the Lord you picked up the phone." He sighed in relief and moved from the crowd to a quiet place.

"Hello, Joshua. Is sothing the matter? What's wrong?" Maggie's voice was laced with concern and Joshua looked around him to make sure no one was listening to him discreetly.

"I have so urgent work for you. But before that, how are Valerie and Ryder?" Joshua was not oblivious to the two officers' conditions. Since the day they had been admitted to the hospital after the catastrophe, he had been enquiring about their well-being, making sure they had been taken care of.

"Ryder is almost healed now. Valerie's fine, but her recovery is slow." Maggie answered and Joshua nodded.

"That's good to hear. That's good to hear." He mumbled and placed his free hand in his pocket to hide his worry from the people around him.

"What's the matter, Jo? What happened?" Maggie did not miss the seriousness and nervousness in his and raised the topic herself.

"Maggie, are you free?" Joshua was still hesitant to seek help from her. But he had no choice. She was the only one who could help him find the information he desperately wanted. "I wouldn't have disturbed you if I were not swamped with work. It's just that...It's just that..."

"What is it, Jo? I am free, I can help you." Maggie interrupted, allowing the man a breather.

"Are you telling the truth? You are free, right? I do not want to hog your ti if you have other matters to attend to?" Joshua still did not reveal why he had called her, and Maggie laughed helplessly.

"I have all the ti in the world, Jo. I promise I have nothing to do, not until Valerie wakes up and appoints again as an officer in the Intelligence." Again, Maggie explained and this ti, Joshua was convinced.

"In that case, I'll send you a person's details. If possible, dig for more information about him, especially in the last three years." Joshua's eyes narrowed as he recalled the video he had seen where Theo had looked at the cara after killing Charles.

"Of course." Maggie's response was imdiate, but Joshua was not done yet.

"Also, try to find his connection with Jared and Charles."

"Ohh." Maggie went silent for a few seconds and Joshua huffed in frustration.

"I got it." She finally replied and Joshua thanked her in his mind for not asking more about the situation. Anyway, she would find out more when she looked for information herself.

"Thanks, Maggie, big ti. I owe you this."

"Not at all. By the way, how is it over there, at Ian's? It must be chaotic as hell." Maggie's voice turned soft in concern and Joshua pursed his lips imdiately.

"It's bad, Maggie, and Ian is trying hard to salvage the situation. But it's difficult, considering this is the second murder happening here."

"I understand. But this trouble will pass soon too. Just stay strong."

A smile made its way on his lips and Joshua turned around and leaned against the wall, this ti, his eyes facing the crowd. "We will, Maggie. Thank you so much."

"No issues. I just want this matter to end as quickly as possible. Jared, Charles and everyone involved in this shit just go to hell."

Joshua let out a soft chuckle when he heard her cuss and shook his head lightly. "It's been quite so ti since I heard you cuss. It's good that you are back, Maggie."

"Yes, it's good that I'm back. I can whoop so ass now. The world is filled with poisonous people and it's ti for detoxification."

"Yep, definitely. Be safe, Maggie and call if you need anything."

"I will, without hesitation."

"Good. I have to go. I will talk to you later. See ya."

"Okay, bye. Talk to you later."

Joshua was quick and once the call ended, he sent Theo's details to Maggie. "I just hope you'll be able to find sothing about him while I handle the situation here."

With a sigh, Joshua pushed himself off the wall and followed the direction Ivy had taken, donning a poker face on his way.

anwhile, Maggie was appalled to find Joshua's ssage, especially when she saw the man she was all too familiar with.

"Theo?" She frowned as she stared at the man's picture. "Isn't he dead? So why does he want to find information about and what is his relation with Charles and Jared?"

"Wait a minute!!" Maggie's eyes widened when a strange yet plausible thought entered her mind. "Does he..."

The ssage did not end at that. There was a video clip attached to it and the mont Maggie played it, she understood why Joshua had sought her help. "What the fucking hell!!" She stood up suddenly, the force sending her chair swerving until it hit the bed.

"Theo is alive?" She questioned herself in disbelief and played the video again. "And he killed Charles."

Her eyes were as wide as saucers and it took her a lot of ti to accept the truth. Theo, the man who had trained the three mighty n to beco who they were right now, the man who Noah, Joshua and Ian respected deeply, had sohow beco the man they suspected to be involved in matters they had least expected to be.
