"Ahhh!"

"Ahhhhhhhh!"

Serena spun around at the sound of loud squeals, barely having ti to register the figure barreling toward her. In the next mont, she was enveloped in a tight hug, so fierce it felt like the air was being squeezed from her lungs. The person’s grip was almost crushing, and Serena struggled to draw a proper breath. She awkwardly patted her back attempting to get so room to speak. "Jane!" she managed to gasp, her voice strained but happy. "Let breathe!"

Jane finally let go of Serena, though her arms lingered a mont longer, as if hesitant to fully release her in case she disappeared. She took a small step back, her tear-filled eyes scanning Serena’s face, almost as if she still couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

"Where did you go?" Jane’s voice cracked, the words tumbled out before she could stop them. She wiped at her face with quick, impatient movents, trying to catch her breath. "Why didn’t you contact ? Do you know how worried I’ve been?" Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, trembling. "I thought... I thought you were dead!" Her voice broke on the last word, and the tears she’d been holding back finally spilled over. Its been such a long ti!

Serena’s heart clenched at the sight. She took a step forward, reaching out to gently touch Jane’s arm. "Jane..." she began softly, but Jane cut her off, her voice rising again.

"If it weren’t for Master Sidney—" Jane’s words ca out in a rush, her emotions overwhelming her. "If he hadn’t kept looking for you, if he hadn’t helped keep this place running... I don’t know how I would’ve survived! I was scared—every day." She shook her head, her tears falling faster. "It was horrible..."

Serena’s chest tightened, and she gave Jane’s arm a reassuring squeeze before pulling her into another embrace. "Hey, it’s okay. I’m here now. I’m alright," she said. She stroked Jane’s hair soothingly, trying to calm her down. "Thank you for keeping the house livable, for waiting for , even when I didn’t contact you.

Jane pulled back slightly, her lower lip trembling as she wiped her face again and looked at Serena carefully. "I’m just glad that you are okay. And that you’re back! Everything will be alright now!"

Serena stepped back slightly, allowing Jane to compose herself as she wiped the last of her tears away. She gave Jane a soft smile, tilting her head. "How have you been? Really, Jane? You look good, but I want to hear it from you."

Jane took a deep breath, running her hands through her hair as if gathering her thoughts. "I’ve been okay," she said, nodding slowly. "I an, I won’t lie, it was hard at first. Not knowing what happened to you..." Her voice trailed off before she quickly picked it up again, trying to sound more upbeat. "But I’m working now! At Nvidia Industries. Just a junior position, but it’s sothing. That’s actually how I found out you were back! Word spread so fast, and I had to see it with my own eyes." She smiled, the light returning to her face as she looked at Serena. "I rushed over as soon as I could. I just couldn’t believe it. Are you really going to be joining the company as a director? If yes, I am definitely going to apply to be your secretary."

"And you? And Owen?,"Jane asked eagerly, her eyes lighting up. "Did you guys get married eventually? Was his family not happy and that is why you stayed behind with him? Has he returned with you?"

Serena shook her head and Jane frowned, but before she could ask more, Serena changed the topic," What about you? Did you et your prince charming? You are the one who needs to look for a husband since you’re older than I am."

Jane rolled her eyes at that," As if I could have found anyone. But,I did find an example for the one I like. In the future, I know what kind of a person I want. I know you were angry at Master Sidney and everything, but I have to say this. Master Sidney is a total green flag. He is amazing. You know when he found out you were gone, he turned everything upside down. He searched for you non-stop, never gave up. He never stopped believing you’d co back. I want soone like that, who would love totally without looking at anyone else."

Jane seed to realise that she’d sothing wrong and hesitated," I know you said you never loved him, okay? And I know you are angry. But it is the truth, Serena. The Dawns’, they tried everything to declare that you were dead, but Master Sidney did not let them. He was amazing. If you’re happy with Owen, then I won’t say anything. But if you’re not, then just rember that you have soone who loves you unconditionally."

Serena rolled her eyes at Jane’s insistence but did not refute anything. There was no point in it. Jane was simple minded in this regard and Sidney seed to have played the role of a pining lover to perfection in her eyes, which was why the mont she was back, the girl could not stop praising him in front of her.

"Co on, Jane. Let’s go and have dinner," Serena said, eager to change the subject, yet again. At this rate, she was going to end up jumping from one subject to the other.

Jane giggled, her mood lightening instantly. "Okay! Let’s go! But you have to tell everything! I want to know what you’ve been up to, how things have been for you. You’ve been away for so long, and I’ve missed so much! Plus, there are a few things I think you should know... so I will definitely update you on that. Do you rember Miss Ava’s friend, she was in..."
