Late at night, a thin mist enveloped Yanchuan City by the sea. The moonlight was faint, and on the chilly streets, only the street lamps fighting to stay lit were still working hard.

In the spacious guest room, Zhou Huaiyi had already turned off the lights, wrapped in a blanket chatting fervently with Kang Xuan on WeChat.

[President Kang: Did Cheng Yi contact you later?]

[Zhou Luobu: I made it so obvious, he definitely got the ssage, why would he still contact ?]

[President Kang: True, this afternoon he posted on his Monts showing off his relationship, I just suddenly thought of you and asked.]

[Zhou Luobu: I’m so busy thinking about Qi Chen every day, how do I have ti to think about him?]

[President Kang: Well, no more nonsense. Although the hope is slim, I still hope you and Xiang Qichen get together soon.]

Zhou Huaiyi sighed sorrowfully, poking at the phone screen with her finger, sighing deeply: "If only he could really like ."

[Zhou Luobu: Anyway, thank you for the good wishes.]

[President Kang: I’m done chatting, I’m off to sleep.]

[Zhou Luobu: Goodnight]

,

The next day, both of them slept in, waking up when it was nearly lunchti.

Zhou Huaiyi looked at her handso face in the mirror, pinched it, then squeezed out so shaving foam and applied it around her mouth.

Shaving was sothing she had seen Old Zhou do a few tis at ho, so it wasn’t unfamiliar. After figuring it out for a bit, she got used to it, and now she could shave cleanly and smoothly without nicking her skin.

Perhaps because she had a good night’s sleep, Zhou Huaiyi was in an unusually cheerful mood. After washing her face, the first thing she did when she saw Xiang Qichen in the living room was to stand in front of him, offering her face for praise: "Look."

Xiang Qichen checked his own face: "What?"

"The beard!" Zhou Huaiyi proudly rubbed her hand across it, "Isn’t it shaved well, smooth and nice to touch? Co and feel it."

Xiang Qichen: "..."

Zhou Huaiyi giggled, "Qi Chen, what shall we have for lunch?"

Xiang Qichen poured a glass of water and handed it to her: "Takeout."

"Oh, okay." Zhou Huaiyi readily took it and sipped, "What about dinner? What do you want for dinner? Should we go to the supermarket to buy so groceries?"

Xiang Qichen thought for a mont, then looked up: "Sure."

——

After lunch, the two drove to a nearby imported supermarket.

Before getting out of the car, Zhou Huaiyi routinely put on her hat and mask.

Xiang Qichen turned off the engine, unbuckled his seatbelt, and said, "To avoid attention, let’s shop separately. You pick what you want, and I’ll pick what I want. We’ll et at the parking lot in an hour."

Zhou Huaiyi nodded eagerly like a pecking chick, reaching to open the car door.

Xiang Qichen suddenly stopped her: "Also, if you get recognized and asked for photos or sothing, just refuse."

Zhou Huaiyi: "Got it!"

Then, they entered the elevator one after the other.

Xiang Qichen’s tall stature and distinct air were hard to hide, so even though Zhou Huaiyi had on a hat and mask, they couldn’t avoid the attention from passersby.

Not long after entering, a few girls surrounded her and recognized who she was.

At that mont, Zhou Huaiyi had just put a can of yogurt into the cart when a female voice suddenly sounded in her ear: "Excuse , are you Xiang Qichen?"

Zhou Huaiyi froze, realizing she couldn’t hide, then blinked and nodded.

The girls got so excited at the response that they almost scread, and Zhou Huaiyi imdiately made a hand gesture to stop them.

They were also very considerate and didn’t make a fuss, just wanted a photo together.

Hearing this, Zhou Huaiyi smiled apologetically, waved her hand, and whispered, "Sorry, it’s a bit inconvenient."

The girls were a little disappointed but didn’t push further, carefully asking instead: "Then could I have your autograph? I really liked you in ’Strings of Your Heart.’

Signing an autograph should be fine, right?

Zhou Huaiyi nodded in agreent, took the pen and paper, signed, handed it back, and left first.

Safe and sound, safe and sound.

Pushing the cart away, Zhou Huaiyi patted her chest in relief, and noticed out of the corner of her eye so skins in the fresh produce section, she fished out her phone and sent a WeChat to Xiang Qichen: [Qi Chen, do you eat dumplings?]

[Xiang: Yes]

Beaming, Zhou Huaiyi took a pack of dumpling wrappers and placed it into the cart.
