Chapter 1 Fallen Mother Volu Two: Continuation
(This continuation is picking up after Chapter 44.)
Mom called into her room.
Once inside, she sat down on the edge of the bed. I had planned to stand, but Mom beckoned to , so I had no choice but to walk over and sit beside her.
"Fan Fan," Mom suddenly called in a serious, heartfelt tone.
"Mm."
"From now on, Old Jiao will be living with us. Do you have anything you want to say?"
What could I say?
Even if I spoke up, it probably wouldn’t make any difference.
Actually, it wouldn’t make any difference at all.
Mom’s personality was always very forceful; I could rarely contradict her, and she usually overruled anyway. Now that she’d brought Old Jiao ho, it was clear her mind was made up. So, no matter what I said, it wouldn’t change anything.
Still, I respected her decision.
Besides, when we were on the mountain, if Old Jiao hadn’t gone out hunting in the rain and brought back that wild boar, we might have starved during those days.
And because of that, it seed Old Jiao was left with so lingering health issues. Even though I really disliked him, since Mom said so, and for that reason, I could only agree.
Honestly, I knew I was just thinking this to make myself feel better.
I nodded and said, "Mom, as long as you’ve decided, I have no objections."
A rare smile appeared on Mom’s cold, beautiful face. She pulled into a hug and said, "As long as you agree, that’s enough. I promise, I’ll never let you get hurt."
Hearing that, I was deeply moved, but I also felt sothing was off.
But I couldn’t say exactly what.
It was late, so I told Mom I was going to bed. After she nodded, I left her room and walked into the hallway.
Suddenly, I noticed that Zhong Niu’s old room was open a crack. I only noticed it by accident if you weren’t looking closely, you wouldn’t see it at all.
I frowned slightly. I knew that the doors in our house always made a little noise when opened or closed, but this door was left ajar, aning whoever was inside didn’t want to make a sound.
There was no need to guess who it was.
I thought for a mont, then strode over not pushing the door open, but grabbing the handle and pulling it shut.
I didn’t know what Old Jiao thought behind that door, but he’d definitely hear this. It was my warning to him: I know, so behave yourself.
I went back to my own room, my mind racing with thoughts so many that I eventually drifted off to sleep from exhaustion.
The next morning, I woke at eight. Before I even reached the living room, I heard the TV. When I walked in, I saw Old Jiao mopping the floor.
He was wearing shorts and a tank top, working hard, sweating profusely, but not seeming to care at all.
He saw , turned, and smiled. "Xiao Fan Fan, you’re up! There’s breakfast on the table I went out and bought it."
I mumbled an "oh," not really paying attention, and sat on the sofa.
I looked around but didn’t see Mom. Was she still asleep?
Turned out I was right.
After a while, Mom ca out.
Both Old Jiao and I looked over at her.
After a night’s sleep, Mom was clearly in good spirits. She hadn’t had ti to tie up her hair, so her long black hair hung loosely over her fragrant shoulders. Even though it was morning, it was still sumr and a bit hot, so she wore a fitted white blouse that perfectly outlined her proud figure. Her full, high chest pushed the collar up, round and almost bursting. Below, she wore black pencil pants that hugged her long, shapely legs her thighs full and round, making her look tall and elegant.
At that mont, Mom looked like a sleeping beauty who’d just woken up, with a lazy, gentle air. I was used to it, but Old Jiao, mop in hand, was completely stunned, his eyes shining.
When Mom looked at him, he snapped out of it and grinned foolishly. "Girl, you’re so beautiful."
Mom shot him a look but said nothing. Then she saw the breakfast on the table. "Fan Fan, did you buy this?"
Before I could answer, Old Jiao quickly claid credit: "I bought it! Went downstairs first thing this morning."
Mom looked a bit surprised. "Old Jiao, where’d you get the money?"
Old Jiao replied, "Oh, well, yesterday you bought clothes, and the shopkeeper gave you change you didn’t notice, so I took it."
Mom nodded and waved over. "Xiao Fan, co eat breakfast." She glanced at Old Jiao, who quickly said, "I already ate, you two take your ti."
After breakfast, I sat on the sofa, bored my howork was all done, and there was nothing to do.
Mom stood by the living room’s floor-to-ceiling window, tying her hair with a rubber band. When she raised her arms, her proud curves were even more pronounced her full chest seed ready to burst from her blouse, her figure a perfect S-curve, her hips round and perky in the tight pants, her slim waist like a willow branch.
The morning sun stread in, bathing her in red-gold light, making her look like a saint from a painting flawless, dazzlingly beautiful.
If I’d had a cara, it would have been a stunning photo. I couldn’t help but stare at Mom, a smile unconsciously appearing on my lips.
Unfortunately, I completely forgot there was soone else in the house besides Mom and .
Suddenly, a loud crash broke the silence. Mom and I both turned to see Old Jiao squatting at the kitchen door, a flowerpot knocked over. He quickly righted it, apologizing.
Mom said nothing. I felt a bit uncomfortable, as if I could sense sothing, but didn’t know what to say.
After tying up her hair, Mom’s lazy air vanished, replaced by her usual noble, icy elegance untouchable.
