Crackle.
"No... this can't be..." The bandit muttered as a bottle fell out of his hands, shattering into small shards and spilling alcohol at his feet, "You're not one of us...! What kind of magic did you use to trick ?!"
"Magic...?" Zayne looked at him with a calm gaze, "I don't know how to hypnotize people if that's what you're asking. It was enough just alcohol, a little more and you'd be calling a friend, just be sure."
The bandit had nothing to answer, he was speechless, not yet fully realizing the situation he was in.
The sound of Zayne's slow footsteps echoed off the walls of the cave, causing the bandit to co to his senses as a chill ran down his back.
"Wait...! If you want to take the gold, I won't stand in your way! I am not a permanent mber of the Black Wing at all! You don't need to kill !" The bandit exclaid in a panic with a frightened expression.
The bandit flailed his arms as suddenly he flinched because Zayne appeared in front of him, with wide-open eyes that were aid at him like two blue death stars.
"Well, I'll be honest." Zayne calmly said slowly pointing his sword toward the stunned man's chest, "If you were a common thief, I'd probably let you live. I don't know how much worse that is than murder, but I'm not a machine to calculate everything. You told yourself what you did to that rchant and that was the critical point since that's when you crossed the line."
Crackle.
"Wait! I can explain...!!!" The bandit exclaid in a panic but it was already too late as the scarlet blade plunged into his chest, piercing his heart.
The bandit's eyes went wide as he reached out to Zayne's neck trying to do sothing, but a mont later his gaze went blank and he fell to the ground in a pool of his own blood.
"Agh... Maybe there are a lot of bastards among the rchants too, but whether they want to or not, with their trade they are slowly making life better for the people around them..." Zayne muttered as he looked at the bandit's corpse, "You're just a parasite who kills this opportunity."
Zayne quickly looked around the bandit but found nothing, not even a small bag of coins, then he headed for the entrance to the vault.
'How strange... I only now realized that neither when killing those three players, nor now, did I gain experience... Is there no point in fighting humans and should I spend all my ti killing monsters?' Zayne muttered inwardly in confusion as he stared at his hands.
For a mont his gaze changed and Zayne could see more, as a bloody veil slowly flowed around him. It was quite thin, weak, and unstable, but so far it was not going to leave Zayne.
'Could it be the Blood Aura...? Zayne wondered as he tilted his head, 'Is that bad or good...? Damn, I hope the villagers don't think I'm a murderer... or rather, they must realize I'm on their side.'
Zayne stared at his hands for a while longer, trying once more to see the Blood Aura, but he was unsuccessful, so he hurried into the vault.
Crackle.
Under the pressure of Zayne's palms, the massive wooden doors opened making a loud creaking sound. Perhaps soone could have heard it, but Zayne didn't worry about that since he knew there was no one within a hundred yards, the way was too far.
"Here we go." Zayne smirked looking at the massive bags full of gold. Next to the sacks were several open chests from which emanated a bright shine from the jewels.
pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ Zayne moved swiftly forward, stopping one step away from the sack of gold to take another look at it all.
'Damn... I don't know what the exchange rate is in Fallen Fate Online or how gold is valued in this world... but there's definitely enough to get a few thousand gold coins here! Maybe even more!' Zayne inwardly exclaid as sparks appeared in his eyes.
'Well, I must not delay! I must get it all as quickly as possible.' Zayne ca to his senses as he touched the bag.
There was no way a normal person could carry such massive and heavy items as chests or bags of gold without help, but Zayne had the ability to use the inventory, at least he thought so.
[Error!]
[Item too large and heavy to fit in your inventory!]
[To move sothing that massive you would have to increase the size and capacity of your inventory!]
"What the hell...?" Zayne muttered in disbelief as he quickly opened his inventory.
The massive information screen in front of him as his eyes went wide, "Shit... I didn't notice that at all. How could I have been so stupid?"
Only now Zayne realized that only four slots were available in his inventory, everything else was dark as if they had to be unlocked sohow.
"Hmm... 1 cubic ter is all that can fit in my inventory... Damn, it's too small! Agh, I'll have to check it out." Zayne shook his head as he touched the jewelry box that was sticking out of the chest.
The box turned into a blue flash and was instantly in Zayne's inventory, filling one of the slots.
"I see... So now I can only carry four items in my inventory and a very limited size? Fuck! This totally sucks! What am I supposed to do now?!" Zayne shouted in anger as he stomped his foot. He felt horrible since once he had hope, everything was ruined, he just couldn't take the treasure that was right in front of him!
Wheeeeest! Wheeeeeeeest! Wheeeeeeeest!
Suddenly a long whistle was heard that stabbed into Zayne's back like tiny needles, making him flinch and turn around abruptly.
'Shit... It was to be expected...' Zayne muttered inwardly as he stared at the silhouette heading in his direction.
A man in a spacious dark robe, seemingly partially torn, but it was his own style, was walking forward in a relaxed stride. The man had thick black hair, a short beard, and green eyes one of which was hidden by a pirate-like eyepatch.
He held one hand in his pocket and the other at his belt, whistling quietly with a sly smirk on his face. Sturdy abs were visible through his robe, and the ring on his finger with the black wing symbol glead from the small white stone in the center.
"Well, well, I kept wondering why I couldn't sleep, but now I get it." The man grinned, "How can I sleep if there's a small but seemingly bloodthirsty rat running around under my feet wanting to take my treasure?"
