At night, in the Shentu Group.
Shentu Chu had completed his tasks as the CEO and was putting all the files in order. He hasn’t made an appearance much so the other directors were getting suspicious.
Suddenly, the door slamd opened. Shentu Chu turned just in ti to see Qiao Minde coming towards him. Within seconds, Qiao Minde had crossed the room to where Shentu Chu stood and pushed him until he hit the table, almost smashing him onto it.
"Qiao Minde!!!?" Shentu Chu was surprised. How did he enter? Wasn’t there security?
Before Shentu Chu could react, his supply of air was cut off.
Qiao Minde’s fingers were wrapped around his neck, choking off his air supply, a cruel look in his dark eyes.
Shentu Chu started coughing frantically. Qiao Minde was going to kill him!
"Shentu Chu, I let you take care of Ah Nian but you treated her poorly! How dare you treat my sister like that?! You asked to give her to you and that you will take care of her forever! Is this how you break your promise?!" Qiao Minde growled, his fingers tightening around Shentu Chu’s neck.
"Q... Qiao Minde... We can talk this o...out... Let’s stay c...calm," Shentu Chu was having difficulty speaking. His face beca red from the lack of air.
"Talk? All you talk about is so rubbish I’m tired of. Your life would be more worth it!"
Seeing the bloodthirsty look in Qiao Minde’s eyes, Shentu Chu knew that he was being serious. Qiao Minde would really snap his neck.
"Qiao Minde!" Shentu Chu shouted.
Finally Qiao Minde released his grip on Shentu Chu’s neck. Shentu Chu was thrown into a coughing fit. He held his sore neck and looked at Qiao Minde grudgingly.
"We both know what my conditions are. If Nian Nian follows , she will have to face what will happen in the future," Shentu Chu’s voice was hoarse.
"Then why did you led her on? You could have rejected her right from the very start!"
"I was selfish," Shentu Chu admitted. Qiao Minde’s eyes darkened.
"I thought I could live a few more years and have a normal life, I was wrong," he finished his sentence.
"She still loves you,"
"I don’t understand this foolish feeling. But as long as it makes her happy, I won’t let it run away," he glared at Shentu Chu.
Shentu Chu understood what Qiao Minde ant.
"You want to cure ?" He sounded sarcastic.
"This is the first ti soone ever wanted to live. Usually everyone wants to die and suffer," He chuckled.
"I’m not the first. Ah Nian is," Qiao Minde refuted. "I have the best doctors in Shengjing,"
"So does the Shentu family," Shentu Chu countered him.
"But you can’t use their doctors. You don’t want your family to know," Qiao Minde seed to have guessed his thoughts correctly.
"You want to help ?" Shentu Chu raised an eyebrow incredulously at him. As far as he knows, Qiao Minde wasn’t that kind.
"Don’t get it wrong. I’m helping myself," Qiao Minde motioned to his sportscar parked outside.
"Wait. Where are we going?" Shentu Chu asked.
"The lab,"
"Isn’t that under your stepmother’s control?"
Qiao Minde glared at him and Shentu Chu quickly shut up. He didn’t like the na stepmother.
It was in the middle of the night when two figures snuck into the Qiao Lab. A puff of white smoke put all the guards on duty asleep. They collapsed to the floor and on their chairs.
Next, Qiao Minde jamd all their caras with a device. With the caras becoming faulty and the person who views the cara’s recordings won’t suspect anything, it beca easier for them to walk in through the front gate. That’s was no need to climb through windows or fences.
At so point, Shentu Chu noticed that Qiao Minde was similar to Shentu Jing in so ways. Both were experienced in fighting and business, both could sneak in and out a place with ease. Qiao Minde didn’t bother to wear black to blend in with the night, he wore his red suit as always.
"Why do you like to wear red so much?" Shentu Chu who was dressed all in black like a spy looked at the cold aloof face of the man beside him.
Qiao Minde didn’t answer him. He couldn’t rember when he started to like red so much. It was either on the day his mother left, the Lunar New Year or because it could hide the colour of blood whenever he got injured.
Ever since then, he had taken an obsession to the colour. Even blood looked wonderful to him.
They walked on the first floor of the huge lab.
"There are many floors. Do we even have the ti to check them all?" Shentu Chu whispered.
"The important ones," Qiao Minde replied.
"The important ones?" Shentu Chu frowned. Can’t this guy ever speak in a proper complete sentence?!
Qiao Minde took out a device and pressed on so buttons. Soon the entire map of the place leaped out on the screen. With it, they went to the office located on the fifth floor. The office was where the important docunts were kept. Qiao Minde easily bypassed the security system and unlocked the fingerprint scanner on the door.
Shentu Chu was in awe of Qiao Minde’s skills. He and Shentu Jing were alike in so ways. Sowhere deep in his mind, Shentu Chu thought that they would make a great pair of brothers.
The door clicked opened with a chanical beep.
"Search," Qiao Minde went to draw the curtains.
Shentu Chu needed to use a torch light to see his way, unlike Qiao Minde who didn’t use anything. He could see in the dark like he had night vision.
Qiao Minde is a freak, Shentu Chu thought.
The latter went to search the other side of the room while Shentu Chu was focused on the desk. Nothing much to see. Who would leave important docunts on the desk for everyone to see?
"Wait, don’t we need gloves?" He asked Qiao Minde with a panicky expression.
Qiao Minde gave him a silent glare.
"To avoid people from discovering our fingerprints?" He raised an eyebrow at Qiao Minde, trying to state his point.
"No need," Qiao Minde replied.
"Are you sure? Because this lab was given to Third Madam Qiao. What if she discovers us?"
"Then let her,"
"Let her?" Shentu Chu was stunned by Qiao Minde’s straightforwardness.
Shentu Chu shook his head and went to the side and opened the steel cabinet and thumb through the na tags of the files. A particular file caught his attention.
Shentu Chu’s hands trembled slightly as he lifted a file.
