"What?" Qiao Nian blinked. What did he an?
"This company is huge. It’s ti you take on so responsibilities. Are you willing to learn and work here, beco a part of the Qiao Group?" Qiao Minde asked.
"I’m willing!" Her enthusiasm stunned him a little.
"I’m willing..." She realized that she was too loud and said again in a softer voice.
"Call them in," Qiao Minde pressed a button and spoke to his assistant.
A few minutes later, Pulan and Qiao ShenJi walked into Qiao Minde’s office.
They were t with Qiao Minde who was sitting on his desk with a needle and white thread in his hand. His muscular arm was revealed with a bloody cut, his white shirt hanging on the other shoulder.
"They are here," the assistant stood by the side and bowed. He couldn’t bear to look at this scary bloody scene. The CEO was really brave!
They watched as Qiao Minde expertly stitched his own arm in front of them. Seeing the needle poking through his skin and coming out, Qiao Nian was unable to look at it. She turned her head away and tried to concentrate on sothing else.
"These few days, I won’t be making much appearance. I’ve attached a few things. Take a look at the file on the table. The company will be in you and ShenJi’s hands," Qiao Minde said without looking up.
Then he took a wet cloth with antiseptic and wiped the wound when done. The assistant ca over with a new shirt and red jacket.
Pulan picked up the file and skimd through it. It was very detailed. She was very surprised because she didn’t expect him to be accommodating to her, it was like he really recognized her as the chairwoman of the Qiao Group.
She thought he only help her to please grandpa Qiao and for the public eyes.
"Ah Nian will be working here from now on. Take her and her her familiarize herself with the company,"
"Okay. You...." Pulan wanted to ask sothing but she stopped herself.
"You what?" He looked up and t her eyes. "Just say your mind,"
"Nothing. I just want to ask, how’s your arm?" She swallowed back her question from earlier and asked an easier one.
"Doing quite well, apart for the fact I can’t move it that much," he replied with dry humour.
"This is my number," Qiao Minde pushed a paper across the table to them. If there’s anything, call or text ,"
Pulan looked at the paper on the table. Things were happening a little too fast. She didn’t know what to say or do.
"Okay,"
Qiao Minde stood up and removed his bloodied shirt. The others all looked away as he removed his shirt with his back facing them. However, when turning away, Pulan accidentally saw a tattoo on his back. She wanted to take a few more glances but he had already put on the clean shirt, buttoned up and turn back to them.
"Is there anything else you want to ask? Feel free to speak your mind," he sat in his chair and propped his chin on the back of his fingers.
"Uh, I do," Qiao ShenJi asked and raised a hand.
"Speak,"
"Uh... You and Shentu Chu are going to tie the knot, right?"
Qiao Minde who was calm earlier on suddenly started coughing.
"Who said I was a couple with Shentu Chu?!" Qiao Minde glared at Qiao ShenJi. Suddenly he felt like he wanted to vomit. Those damn rumours!
The couple looked confused and surprised as well. They exchanged looks with each other.
"I thought you two were together?" Qiao ShenJi had gathered his courage to have a conversation with him.
Qiao Minde was silent. It was like the calm before the storm. Pulan and Qiao ShenJi felt tensed, suspense hanging in the air.
"That Shentu Chu, I’m going to kill him!" Qiao Minde finally said and got up.
"Brother, don’t...," Qiao Nian held him down, sobbing.
"Why? He hurted you and you still want to protect him," Qiao Minde squinted at her, thinking how ridiculous she was.
Qiao Nian looked down ashad, avoiding his gaze.
"I don’t bla him," her voice was soft like a breeze.
But he could sense the sorrow in it.
Finally Pulan and Qiao ShenJi understood that it was Qiao Nian who had so relationship with Shentu Chu.
Qiao Minde stared at Qiao Nian with disbelief. How could she be so stupid just because of love? Qiao Minde didn’t understand love. Why love could make people do ridiculous things?
He would never let love conquer him!

Xu ng received a call from Madam Bai. After listening to her panicky voice for ten minutes, he hung up and had a worried expression.
"What’s wrong?" His secretary asked, noticing that lately his boss had been frowning a lot
"Qianhua has a case of severe depression," Xu ng said.
"Madam Bai said that she had been having it for years but she hid it and had been taking dication. At tis, Qianhua would feel like she wants to die and often lose her temper. She didn’t tell because she was afraid that I would not want her anymore,"
Xu ng massaged the sides of his forehead. Madam Bai had pleaded with him to visit her daughter. He had to go visit Bai Qianhua now but he was supposed to be in a eting.
"What should we do, sir?" The assistant noticed how conflicted he was.
"I’ll think up of a plan," Xu ng sighed.
If he sees Bai Qianhua’s first, he’ll be letting the other managers and various CEOs from other companies down. It would be like not giving them face.
Xu ng was caught in a dilemma. The Xu cooperations finally had a chance to recuperate.
anwhile, in the Bai residence.
"Let’s see how important you are in Xu ng’s heart. Will he choose the eting or you?" Madam Bai said slyly.
Bai Qianhua nodded eagerly. She laid in bed with a wet towel on her forehead as she waited for Xu ng.
