While chatting, Pulan’s phone suddenly rang. She answered it and heard the worried voice of her assistant. Once the call ended, Qiao ShenJi could see his wife’s brows creased with worry.
"We need to go. I’ll entrust you to look after Ah Nian," Pulan said to Qin Zhuzhu.
She was in a hurry. Qiao ShenJi had to return to the Qiao Group too. The assistant on the other end was extrely nervous and anxious.
"Okay. You can count on ," Qin Zhuzhu replied.
Originally, Qin Zhuzhu wanted to lead a simple life after her divorce but she ended up getting entangled between the two powerful families of Shengjing, the Shentu family and Qiao family.
Sigh.... It seems like God has so other plans for her. And she couldn’t stop causing trouble or getting her ass involved on things that she cared about.
"By the way, it was nice eting you," Pulan smiled. "Soday, I’ll treat you to a al. Thanks for taking care of my little sister,"
"No problem! What? No, I’ll treat you to a al. I tell you, my cooking is very delicious!" Qin Zhuzhu boasted proudly.
"Then I’ll be looking forward to your cooking," Pulan waved bye bye at her.
Along the way to the Qiao Group in their car, Pulan thought about Qin Zhuzhu.
"What do you think of Qin Zhuzhu? Can she be trusted?" After years of getting bullied and sched on by the Qiao family, Pulan had learnt to be careful with people.
Qin Zhuzhu seed like a nice person. But Pulan had to be very cautious. In the past, the couple were tricked by many ’nice’ people.
"I think she can be trusted. Qin Zhuzhu... This na sounds familiar," Qiao ShenJi looked at his wife. The couple would often have discussions like this, so tis they would end up debating with each other. Pulan trusted his opinions very much.
Suddenly it hit him why the na was familiar!
"Now I rembered! Qin Zhuzhu, the fashion designer who went to Paris and competed against one of the top French fashion designer! It was all over Shengjing! I heard that she used to be Xu ng’s wife, then she was engaged to Shentu Jing later on. She’s friends with Ah Nian. And Ah Nian trusts her. I think she’s sincere," he spoke with enthusiasm.
Whenever he spoke about Shentu Jing, Qiao ShenJi would brightened up. Shentu Jing was his idol and the person he admired. Although he had only t him once, their eting was still imprinted in his head.
Such a capable man, it was a pity he died at a young age.
When they arrived at the Qiao Group, a large crowd of reporters were waiting for them. They were bombarded with questions, including personal ones as they squeezed their way to the entrance.
"Chairwoman, is it true what they said? That your sister Qiao Nian caused the CEO to fall into the water?"
"Miss Qiao, I heard that you were there. Can you please tell us more details?"
"Chairwoman! Soone said that you were out dating and having fun, thus neglecting the company. Is that true?" Another reporter shouted over the crowd.
"You and Qiao Minde had conflicts with each other. Do you wished for him to die or get karma?" So of the reporters asked absurd questions, even ntioning so of her old scars from the past.
The reporters have done an excellent job to dig out her past, Pulan scoffed inwardly.
Microphones were shoved in their faces. Pulan had a hard ti trying to avoid those reporters. She had to put on a pleasant smile and wade her way through, not saying a word.
The bodyguards did their best to make sure the couple don’t get hurt and reach the entrance safely.
At last, they didn’t reached the entrance. Pulan took the elevator to the eting room. It seems like Qiao Tan had called for a eting all by himself. He looked at her with disdain when she walked into the room.
Instantly, she knew of the trap that they had planned for her. She and Qiao ShenJi exchanged looks. There was a faint smile on Qiao ShenJi’s lips.
Pulan sat down calmly and shot a fake smile at her second uncle, Qiao Tan.
"Everyone’s here. Let’s start," Pulan treated the other mbers of the board with respect.
"The CEO is gone, fallen into the water. Many of our clients and custors are demanding compensation. They said that they only agreed to work with us because of Mr Qiao Minde," Director 1 said.
"That’s right. I called one of them but they only wanted to speak to the CEO. I don’t know what terms and conditions the CEO promised them last ti.. Apart from him, no one else can do the job," Director 2 said.
"If it wasn’t for his sister careless mistake, we wouldn’t be having this eting and all those trouble! That girl is a Jinx!" Another director said angrily.
"Let’s not pass the buck here. The police are doing their best to find the CEO. We should place importance on those clients and custors and satisfy them. No one could foresee the future," Pulan spoke up after hearing all the directors complained.
"Easier said than done," Qiao Tan spoke up.
Pulan only smiled at her second uncle. She knew what was up his sleeves.
"Show us your abilities. I hope you didn’t forget about what you said in front of Grandpa Qiao. If not, leave and resign," Qiao Tan stabbed a finger into the long wooden table, stating his point.
"I heard that the chairwoman was on a date. How very irresponsible," Qiao Tan ntioned the subject while signalling to the other directors to follow his suit.
"Uh, yes. Although dating is not prohibited in the company, you should put work first," Director 4 said.
Pulan took out a file from her handbag and pushed it across the table to the directors.
Everyone looked at it curiously. When they saw what was written on it, their pupils shrank and jaws dropped.
This.... How did she do it!!!???
