Qin Zhuzhu and Shentu Jing drove to the hospital to see her mother. Song Ping was up with Jiang Wubai by her side. Shentu Jing stayed outside the ward, wearing a mask and blending in with the shadows.
"Mother!" Qin Zhuzhu rushed to hugged her mother.
"I’ll give you two so ti alone," Jiang Wubai said, pulling Sanya with him.
"Mother, why didn’t you tell that you have brain tumor?" Qin Zhuzhu’s eyes were red, face full of concern.
Apparently, her mother had been having brain tumour for a few years but she didn’t tell anyone.
"Zhuzhu, mother didn’t want you to worry about my wellbeing. At that ti, I didn’t want your in laws to know about my condition and looked down on you more. I didn’t want to beco your burden," Song Ping squeezed her daughter’s hands.
"But you could at least tell , I’ll take care of you," Qin Zhuzhu’s pupils quivered slightly.
"My silly daughter," Song Ping reached out and caressed her hair lovingly.
A doctor and a nurse walked into the room, holding so papers.
"Miss Qin, Madam Song, we have checked. Our hospital isn’t advanced enough to treat the brain tumour. The technology isn’t advanced enough in the country," the doctor said.
Qin Zhuzhu wiped her eyes, heart pounding in her chest, and got up in a haste. "W..what? What does that an?"
She knew that it was bad news. Was there no hope for her mother?
"Then what about all the hospitals in Shengjing?" Qin Zhuzhu couldn’t hide the panic in her voice.
"I’m sorry, miss," the nurse spoke up. "I’ve checked our database. All the hospitals in Shengjing, including the ones in the country currently don’t have that technology,"
Qin Zhuzhu’s face fell at that mont. It was like her heart had been stabbed. Song Ping only looked at the quilt covering her waist.
"But there’s a hospital that have this technology," the doctor said, paging through the papers.
Qin Zhuzhu perked up. "Where?"
If there was the slightest hope for her mother, she would fight for it.
"Let check," the doctor continued to page through the papers, keeping Qin Zhuzhu on suspense.
"Ah, finally! Here! It’s an overseas hospital in Europe," the doctor handed her the papers for her to see by herself.
She stared at it for a while, fingers gripping the papers hard.
"We suggest that you consider this hospital. This is Doctor Han’s number. He’s the head of this hospital. You can contact him for any questions or further arrangents," The doctor and nurse walked out.
Sanya and Jiang Wubai quickly stepped in.
"What did the doctor say?" Jiang Wubai was concerned.
Sanya noticed that her friend didn’t look too good, instead she looked more pale than before.
"What’s wrong, Xiao Zhu?" Sanya saw the papers and took it out of her hands. When she and Jiang Wubai read it finished, a dark cloud hung over their faces.
"Ah Ping, this...." Jiang Wubai ca to Song Ping’s side with a painful look in his eyes.
"It’s okay," she took Jiang Wubai’s hands and caressed it. Never in her life had she expected herself to fall in love a second ti.
Now the person she wanted to spend her life with was Jiang Wubai. She didn’t want to leave this world just yet. Her daughter haven’t settle down yet. But there was a high risk in the surgery. What if she fails to survive? There were many cases of brain tumour surgery and a lot of them failed.
Jiang Wubai was lost for words. All he wanted was to spend more ti with her, every second and minute beca gold to him. Wait, worth more than gold!
"Then, what are your plans?" Sanya asked, looking at the three people in the room.
"We’ll go overseas, find that doctor and remove the tumour," Qin Zhuzhu said.
"XiaoZhu..."
"Mother, I’m going with you. I want to accompany you," sensing what her mother was going to say, Qin Zhuzhu decided to insist on coming along.
"I can go myself. Don’t need to worry about ,"
"I’ll go with Ah Ping. Don’t worry," Jiang Wubai said.
"Mother, I know you are worried about my job and life, but I’m fine. No matter what, I’ll accompany you to Europe. A job can be found again, a mother is hard to find even if I search for a thousand years," Qin Zhuzhu looked at her mother.
There was no room to persuade her, so Song Ping let her be.
"Fine. I was afraid to burden you with my old body," Song Ping always felt sorry towards Qin Zhuzhu, and always blad herself whenever Qin Zhuzhu gets into trouble.
Qin Zhuzhu didn’t understand why her mother insisted on not telling her. Doesn’t she know that if she don’t say anything, she would be worried to death?
Whenever her mother gets injured or sick, she would keep it from Qin Zhuzhu. Eventually, Qin Zhuzhu found out about it herself. It made it seem like Song Ping was afraid to burden Qin Zhuzhu, as if she owed her sothing in her past life.
"It’s decided?" Sanya asked.
Qin Zhuzhu nodded.
"Then since you are going to Europe, do you want so help?" Sanya asked again.
"What help?"
"Do you want to call that person... isn’t he in Europe? Maybe he can help?"
"Who?"
"Another one of your admirers during your school days. Rember? He graduated early and went to Europe to beco a doctor? Maybe he knows where that hospital is and how to et with Doctor Han," Sanya suggested.
Qin Zhuzhu had to think hard. She had forgotten about this admirer. Finally after so minutes, she rembered! But she forgot his na.
She started scrolling through her texts and call logs for his contact when she was taken aback from one particular one.
[Honey, I’ve really underestimated you]
Sender: Crimson Wolf Lord
What did this guy an by sending her such a ssage out of nowhere? What did she do?
Shentu Jing had deleted the call log, so Qin Zhuzhu had no idea about the call between the two n that night.
His sweetness gave her the creepy chills.
