Shentu Chu forced himself to stay awake. He needed to stay awake. Who knows how long will it be when he opened his eyes again?
He laid on the green grass, letting the sunlight shine on him. In the distance, he could hear the stream flowing and the fresh morning air filled his lungs.
He was going to die, Shentu Chu thought. He had searched for the antidote everywhere yet he couldn’t find it. Even his special doctor couldn’t find the cure, not to ntion a way to stop the poison from spreading.
But then Qiao Minde appeared and injected him with that drug. So far, that drug was the only thing that seed to work for him. But he knew it wasn’t the antidote, just close to it.
"Shentu Chu? What are you doing here?" A voice startled him, causing him to shot up.
"Sister in law...." He looked up at t Qin Zhuzhu’s eyes.
"Don’t call that. I’m not married to him," she refuted.
"You will,"
"Why are you so certain? Wait, why are all of you certain that I’ll beco your sister in law?" Qin Zhuzhu looked at him suspiciously.
"Because you’ll definitely agree to marry him," Shentu Chu replied with a smile.
Such confidence. What makes them think that she’ll agree to Shentu Jing’s proposal?
"Why are you here? Shouldn’t CEO Shentu be in the office?" Qin Zhuzhu plopped down on the grass beside him.
"Ah, just taking a break. It’s peaceful here. How did you know about this place? Not much people co here," he asked, leaning back down to the grass.
"I’ve been coming here since I was a child,"
Since she was a child? Shentu Chu was surprised, he also ca here many tis when he was a child. But his mories were blurry so he couldn’t rember much.
" too. Hey, have you eaten? I’ll take you to eat sothing delicious. My treat," Shentu Chu smiled. It was a natural relaxed smile.
Being with Qin Zhuzhu always make him relax, like he had known her for years. He didn’t felt the need to pretend.
"Alright! Do you always invite everyone to co eat with you?" The girl joked, eyes shining brightly.
"Not anyone. Only certain people can," Shentu Chu led her to a restaurant. She looked up at the signboard, a dozen or more custors were in line.
"Huh, your choice is not bad. at and skewers. I didn’t expect that CEO Shentu would eat foods with the common people," she teased lightly.
"Hahaha, I just know how to enjoy life," he laughed and ushered her in.
They walked into the restaurant where the main dishes were all at dishes. Because of their stunning appearances and the aura they carried, they beca the centre of attention for so custors.
"Look at that couple! Don’t they look perfect?" From behind, they heard so girls chatted.
"They looked like celebrities! But they can’t be. I haven’t seen them anywhere,"
"What couple? I think they looked more like siblings. See, their eyes looked similar and their skin tone are almost the sa,"
Eyes are similar? These people really could beco Sherlock Hols. Where got similar? I’m female, he’s male, okay? We both have different mothers and fathers.
Shentu Chu ordered a platter of lamb skewers and so beer.
"Wow! Thank you CEO Shentu for this treat!" She rubbed her palms together and ate the food with so much love.
They chatted and ate, clinking their beer cans and talking about food and life.
Another one of Shentu Chu’s blurry childhood mory resurfaced as he was laughing at her joke.
In that mory, a little girl told him a silly joke. Because he didn’t laugh at it, she cried and made a fuss. So he taught her jokes until she was placated.
It was at Leifeng adow, the place from earlier that this mory took place. It was strange but bit by bit, his mories seed to be coming back.
His watch beeped with a ssage. Seeing the red light, he knew that it was urgent.
"I’m going to the toilet for a while," he excused himself.
"Okay," Qin Zhuzhu nodded.
He hid inside in the toilet, making sure no one was there before he pressed the button on the watch. Tang An’s voice note ca through.
After hearing it, Shentu Chu’s face beco pale. Many minutes later, he ca out and continued his al with Qin Zhuzhu.
"Let send you ho," he offered.
"Actually, I’m not going ho yet. I’m still working on a project," she said. Well, she couldn’t say that she agreed to not see or et Shentu Jing for seven days. Shentu Chu would definitely throw her into Shentu Jing’s arm from what she knows.
"Then let’s walk together?" He suggested.
"Alright. I happen to be free and in need of a new environnt,"
"Shentu Chu, you looked pale. Are you tired or sick?" She suddenly asked.
"Huh? I think it must be because of that Third Madam Qiao. She won’t let us go. Qiao Nian will be in trouble too," Shentu Chu told a white lie. He couldn’t tell anyone that it was because he was poisoned.
"Hey, are you two siblings?" A girl in a working uniform ran up to them.
"We’re not," she quickly refuted.
"Really? I think you two looked alike. Our shop is having a promotion for siblings and family mbers. You can co and take a look," the girl handed them a flyer and ran back to work.
What was going on? Are these people blind or what? In less than a day, Qin Zhuzhu had gotten many comnts that Shentu Chu and her looked like siblings.
Qin Zhuzhu gave the flyer to Shentu Chu and shook her head. "I don’t know what’s wrong with people’s eyes these days,"
"Sigh.... Don’t bother about them. I think they played too much douyin. You don’t think we look alike?"
"Of course not! Our parents are different,"
"Why don’t we take so selfies to have a closer look?" Shentu Chu seed to be challenging her.
