Just as Sun Pingkai was worried and at his wit’s end, his shoulder was suddenly tapped.

It was Lin Yi.

Their previous fierce argunt had been heard by Lin Yi from the sidelines.

"Great General Lin," said Sun Pingkai and General Han respectfully.

Previously red-faced and arguntative, they involuntarily lowered their heads upon seeing Lin Yi.

Lin Yi turned to ask General Han.

"General Han, now that we’re at the foot of Bajiao Mountain, what are your thoughts?"

General Han, eager to advance into the mountains, got straight to the point.

"Great General Lin, I’ve also studied the map of Bajiao Mountain. This path right in front of us is the nearest and most level, so I intend to take this small path in."

General Han spoke confidently.

"Why then did Inspector Sun obstruct every way, leaving one to question his intentions?"

What intentions?

Hearing this, Sun Pingkai felt so angry his nose nearly skewed.

He had just attempted to clear his na and vindicate himself but was stopped by Lin Yi’s outstretched hand.

Knowing how agitated Sun Pingkai must be in such a situation, Lin Yi still firmly stood by his side, trying to quell his anger.

"Inspector Sun, calm down, I’m here."

Lin Yi then asked, "General Han, you are not wrong; this small path is indeed the shortest route into Bajiao Mountain. However, it is also the place most susceptible to traps and ambushes."

"Aren’t you worried that Guo Huaimu might have set traps here?"

By this point, Lin Yi hoped to awaken General Han’s vigilance using his own credibility.

However, to his disappointnt, General Han did not take Lin Yi’s words to heart, still acting recklessly.

"Great General Lin, timing is crucial in warfare, which ans seizing the right mont. While the sun is still up, my thousand soldiers can smoothly enter Bajiao Mountain."

"If we take the long way around on the small path to enter Bajiao Mountain, it will be dark, and won’t we miss the best opportunity to engage in battle?"

"Furthermore, while this route is indeed conducive to setting traps, we are a thousand soldiers, ten tis the number of bandits. How could we possibly fear them?"

"An ancient saying goes, ’the tily mont, geographical advantage, and human harmony,’ with the tily mont being the foremost. Shouldn’t we leverage this paramount advantage we have?"

General Han spoke with a spirited tone.

Yet, his words caused Lin Yi to feel a headache brewing.

’You brat, clearly not one for scholarly pursuits. The proverb of tily mont, geographical advantage, and human harmony has been twisted beyond recognition by you.’

’Clearly, you are impatient and overambitious, completely disregarding the terrain and potential traps.’

’Ai, since you’ve co from the side of the Eighth Prince, choosing to turn from darkness to light, I’ll give you a hand.’

"General Han, are you sure about entering through this small path, unafraid of traps?"

General Han spoke disdainfully, "A re trap cannot harm . I ask Great General Lin to give the order and let charge into Bajiao Mountain."

His confidence knew no bounds, as if everything was under his control.

At that mont, twenty guard dogs suddenly dashed to the foot of Bajiao Mountain, barking incessantly at the small path.

The originally quiet forest was instantly filled with noise.

Lin Yi listened carefully; the guard dogs had clearly detected sothing.

"General Han, the dogs are barking furiously, indicating there is sothing wrong with this trail, we shouldn’t proceed rashly."

Yet General Han, unabashed, asserted: "General Lin, I indeed used to admire you. Being able to beco the Great General of You Country, there must be sothing exceptional about you."

"But now, it seems your exceptional judgent can’t be solely based on the noses of these few dogs, right?"

Seeing General Han dare to talk back to Lin Yi like this, Sun Pingkai was shocked.

He hurried forward to remind him, "General Han, how can you be so disrespectful to Great General Lin? Do you realize what you are saying?"

General Han didn’t feel he was in the wrong, but Sun Pingkai’s remark made him realize his words might have been inappropriate.

"Great General Lin, I speak my mind and I hope you’ll forgive my bluntness."

"But I must say, that old man told us they encountered Guo Huaimu and his n on this very trail, so they must be hiding nearby."

"Are you, General Lin, going to disregard human words and trust in what you call the judgnt of re hunting dogs? They are animals after all."

In General Han’s opinion, an old man wouldn’t lie, and was more reliable than animals.

Hearing this, Lin Yi was displeased. These twenty dogs were excellent trackers, and their ability was beyond doubt.

Seeing Lin Yi not responding, General Han thought Lin Yi was admitting fault, and said proudly.

"Great General Lin, you say these dogs are capable and can find the Official Salt, but what’s the result? The Official Salt is still missing, isn’t it?"

Faced with such an arrogant and disrespectful General Han, Lin Yi knew it was pointless to explain any further.

’Sigh, animals will always be animals, but they don’t lie, while humans sotis truly aren’t human.’

’Fine, if you won’t cry until you see the coffin, then I will let you taste so bitterness.’

"Alright!"

Lin Yi finally gave in.

"Since General Han insists on entering Bajiao Mountain through this trail, I can only accommodate your wish."

"All soldiers, those willing to follow General Han down this path into Bajiao Mountain, stand behind him, but no more than 200 people."

Even if they were heading to their deaths, marching straight into a trap, Lin Yi could only agree to their decision but insisted on a voluntary basis.

Lest anyone have regrets later. After Lin Yi’s command, over a hundred soldiers volunteered to follow General Han.

Seeing this, Lin Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, not too many were willing.

However, it also showed that in the eyes of these soldiers, there were still so willing to follow General Han.

It’s just a pity, alas, they will suffer soon. The thought of watching them fall into a trap made Lin Yi sowhat reluctant.

’Since it’s your own choice, then you must pay a certain price.’

"Good, since you’ve all made your choice, you lead the way. Let’s set off!"

After much effort, General Han finally obtained Lin Yi’s order and was overjoyed, clasping his hands together in gratitude.

"I shall obey. With Great General Lin’s wise decision, I’m certain we can capture Guo Huaimu and find the Official Salt."

General Han did not dare to take all the credit in front of Lin Yi; he attributed half of the forthcoming victory to Lin Yi to show his loyalty.

Little did he know Lin Yi did not dare to accept such "credit."

’Don’t get too excited just yet, General Han. You’ll soon pay a heavy price for your rash decision.’

’When the ti cos, don’t try to pin the bla on ; I’ll be grateful.’

"Guo Huaimu and his n may have set up traps there, you all must be extrely careful!"

This was Lin Yi’s final piece of advice; he hoped so much that General Han would take it to heart.
