Fairy Tail is banned for joining this year's Grand Magic Gas. The reason was because they fought with Raven Tail illegally last year.
"Raven Tail? Your son's Guild?"
"Yeah."
Raven Tail had tried to attack Fairy Tail many tis on different occasions for the last 6 years. They always failed, but they never gave up because Makarov didn't crush them properly. Deep down, he still has so trust for his son, after all, but Ivan is already beyond help.
Then last year, they finally made their desperate move. They actually kidnapped Asuka, the daughter of Al and Bisca. She was playing in the hotel's backyard with Happy and Carla, so the 2 Exceeds were also kidnapped.
Makarov couldn't tolerate it anymore, so the whole Guild just went on a war with Raven Tail during the competition. They destroyed Raven Tail and also so buildings in the city, that's why they got banned from this year's competition.
While they weren't the initiator, they did cause a lot of damage to the Royal Capital's buildings and endangered civilians. So they still got punished. It's a light punishnt because they were just trying to save their mbers.
As for Raven Tail, they got a severe punishnt. Their Guild got disbanded and their core mbers were imprisoned, with Ivan getting the longest sentence as the Guild Master. It was also found that they did so illegal activities, which increased their punishnt.
Alex actually had fought Raven Tail many tis in the past because they tried to recruit him and he refused. He didn't destroy them just because they didn't really try to kill him and only annoyed him with their persistence.
Though he once destroyed their base because he got tired of them trying to recruit him almost all the ti. It was also because Ivan promised him to get great power if he joined them and beca their spy in Fairy Tail.
Alex already knew what Ivan wanted to get from Fairy Tail and he wasn't interested in it at all. He never needed Fairy Heart if he wanted to be strong because Alex always has the confidence to be very strong without using such a thing with 9 Tailed Beasts in his body.
So he destroyed Raven Tail's base to make them stop pestering him. It was very easy to defeat them even though Ivan always said Raven Tail's Mages were recruited specifically to counter Fairy Tail's Mage.
Well, it seed they didn't know how to counter him and Gildarts though. Defeating them was easier than destroying a Dark Guild which was Alex's favorite job. After all, at that ti, Raven Tail was still much smaller with less than 30 mbers in total.
Anyway, about saving soone from their hands, the one that Alex ans is Flare. Because he destroyed their base, they were forced to move even further from Fairy Tail and even left Fiore to avoid Alex.
Thanks to that, they didn't et Flare who had just left Sun Village. She was actually discovered by Layla when doing a business trip. Layla saved Flare when she was in trouble because she didn't have money to buy food.
After living among the honest Giants since she could rember anything, Flare didn't know how bad humans could be. She was just happy to see people of her size and trust what anyone said, so she got deceived and lost the human money that the Giants gave her.
Fortunately, Layla was there and helped her. Then after knowing about Flare's circumstance, Layla sent her to rmaid Heel, a Magic Guild that only accepted female Mages.
She didn't send Flare to Fairy Tail although Lucy was there because rmaid Heel's base was closer to the town where she t Flare. Besides, rmaid Heel was the one that had a partnership with Heartfilia Konzern, not Fairy Tail, so it's more beneficial for her family if rmaid Heel got stronger.
Thanks to that, rmaid Heel really got stronger and even won the Grand Magic Gas once. Alex also indirectly saved an innocent girl from being misled by so maniacs, so she didn't beco a cruel maniac like them.
"Tsk! I should've just destroyed them completely back then. Has Ivan forgotten that I spared them only because he was your son and Laxus's father?" Alex clicks his tongue.
"Well, you were gone and Gildarts was rarely in the Guild, so they must've thought they had chances against us. It was my mistake for letting them off too many tis." Makarov really feels regretful for not stopping Ivan much earlier.
Alex also feels regretful, but unlike Makarov, the reason for his regret is because if he destroyed them in the past, Fairy Tail wouldn't get excluded from the Grand Magic Gas this year and he would be able to participate.
"Sigh, well, when will they do this year's Grand Magic Gas? We should still be allowed to watch, right?"
"Yeah, but sadly you can't watch it because today is the last day of the event. We were watching the last ga when the 1st Master contacted us and told us that you've woken up. The final ga should be over by now."
Alex's luck is really bad because he can't even watch the interesting competition. Though it seems he won't miss out that much because the main competing Guilds aren't sending their best Mages this year.
Fairy Tail's ally Guilds like rmaid Heel, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, Quatro Cerberus, and the Heaven's Runners only send their new mbers this year as a form of protest for Fairy Tail's unfair punishnt.
While they understood the Kingdom's reason for banning Fairy Tail this year, they also can't accept the punishnt. After all, if their mbers were kidnapped, they too would fight against the Guild that did it even if they destroyed so buildings.
For them, the only one that deserved punishnt was Raven Tail. Fairy Tail was just retaliating to save their mbers. It was very justifiable, even more so when a child was hurt.
So Fairy Tail's ally Guilds which are also their strongest rivals in the competition decided to protest against the Kingdom's decision by only sending their newbies for the competition which makes it like they are also punished in a way.
With no strong Mages from the main competitor Guilds, the competition beca less interesting this year. Though it made other Guilds that couldn't shine in the previous years get the spotlights and a chance to show off.
"Sigh, well, there's no helping it then. Let join it next year. I also want to rest for a bit after a very stressful battle that lasted for a few years. There must be a lot of catching up to do."
Alex is sure he will need so ti to get used to all the changes he missed. Even now, he is still not used to seeing a grown up Wendy. She actually looked more like her Edolas self that they t years ago, although her personality isn't strong like that one.
Everyone also looks more mature now, which is still quite odd for him. It has been more than 6 years, after all, so changes are inevitable. He actually is surprised that no one else of his generation got married other than Al and Bisca after 6 years.
Well, almost all of them are late bloors and the ones who aren't late bloors still don't have intentions to start their own families yet. They still enjoy their adventures, so they don't get married yet and stay as lovers.
These couples are Gray and Juvia, Laxus and Cana, Elfman and Evergreen, Freed and Lisanna, Gajeel and Levy, Happy and Carla, and the most surprising are Natsu and Lucy.
(A.n: these are my personal ships, alright. I won't give my best girl Mira to anyone :p)
It's not that Alex is surprised Natsu ends up with Lucy. He is surprised that Natsu could even realize he has romantic feelings toward Lucy. Though it made much more sense to him once Lucy tells him that she was the one who confessed and worked hard to make him understand.
"Alex, why are you looking at him with a disappointed dad's expression? You were literally the sa as him. It was who confessed and did a lot of things to make you fall in love with even though you were so dense. So you aren't in the position to judge Natsu. You are peas of the sa pod." Mira's words stab Alex's heart, making him silent instantly.
Other than those couples, there's also Erza who finally dates Jellal officially now. Thanks to Alex's work in the past to change things, Jellal didn't beco a wanted criminal, so he doesn't have any problem dating Erza.
However, the most unexpected developnt that he hears today is Gildarts and Ur. Both of his teachers seem to hit it off with each other after getting involved in so jobs and are now dating with the prospect of getting married.
Alex's jaw drops when Cana says it and then Gray as Alex's fellow student under Ur's tutelage confirms it. Seems like both their daughters, Cana and Ultear support their relationship, and so are Ur's students, Lyon and Gray.
As for Alex? It doesn't seem like he will just say okay.
"... Where's that old pervert? I will beat him to a pulp."
