As Ren clicked the 'Confirm' button, his heart tightened. This was it. The 10-pull he had earned from the S-Class Quest in Elbaf. After the kiss from Mira, he was feeling lucky. Cana's 10 PM prophecy had better hold up.
On the system screen, the incredibly vast blue sky and white clouds suddenly dispersed. The familiar, deep, and beautiful starry night descended.
Streaks of starlight continuously converged in the night sky, forming ten bright, twinkling stars.
The stars fell like teors, trailing cots of various colors.
White...
Green...
White...
Ren's smile began to fade. Even though he knew that most of the previous draws were of this quality, it was still a gacha, and who hadn't fantasized about getting a gold card on the very first try? Or at least a purple?
Blue...
White...
Green...
White...
Blue...
His hope was draining fast. Eight pulls, all trash. Everything depended on the crucial ninth draw.
Blue!
"Damn it!" Ren hissed under his breath.
If the ninth draw had been purple, then this gacha would have had a guaranteed floor; even if the tenth draw wasn't gold, it definitely wouldn't have been a loss. A purple card was still good.
Now there was no guarantee, which made him very anxious. This could be a complete waste of an S-Class Quest's reward. He was relying on this last card.
Whoosh — — — — —!
The last streak of starlight fell from the night sky. It was different. It wasn't white, or green, or blue. It tore through the darkness, dragging a long, brilliant, blinding golden cot tail.
"Gold!!"
"Haha!! I got a gold card!!!"
Ren saw the golden light and once again jumped off his bed and cheered excitedly, his fist pumping the air. Even though he had already drawn many gold-legendary character cards, no matter how many he drew, a gold-legendary still made him incredibly excited. It was the thrill of the pull.
[...]
At this mont, the system felt a distinct urge to report Ren. This kid was cheating. He had to be. Otherwise, how could he get gold cards every ti? This kid's gold draw rate made it even suspect that the system itself had a bug.
But after a careful check, it found that, no, it was correct! The probability was very low!
Why was this kid's gold draw rate so incredibly high?
Could it be that this kid truly had a thing with the Goddess of Luck?
Then, the gacha animation ended.
Next was the most thrilling mont.
Card after card began to flip forward from the very back.
[Recyclable Material]
[Experience Fodder]
[Trash Weapon]
Ren's eyes skipped over them, his mind just repeating, "Who cares, who cares, who cares..."
Even though these guys were mostly useless, just experience fodder, when he was in a good mood, even these experience packs looked quite pleasing.
Soon, only the last, glowing golden character card remained. It flipped over.
Seeing the character card, Ren's breathing hitched. His heart pounded faster, and the expression in his eyes and on his face visibly shifted to one of imnse, unadulterated excitent.
"It's him!!!"
This was an exceptionally handso man with wild, spiky white hair and white eyelashes. Beneath his eyelashes were pale, crystalline blue eyes that seed to contain a white mist—eyes that looked like the sky itself. He had a tall, slender physique, over 190 cm in height, and wore a simple, dark blue high-collared uniform, looking impossibly, arrogantly, dashing.
That's right!
It was Gojo Satoru from "Jujutsu Kaisen."
[Akarin's Note: Jujutsu Kaisen is a popular manga/ani series. Gojo Satoru is a primary character and a "Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer," renowned for his imnse power.]
Currently the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer, the first-year horoom teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High, and a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer.
This was the man who was set by the author as "the strongest" from his very first appearance.
The power he displayed in the early stages indeed matched his position as the strongest. He was untouchable, a walking natural disaster who treated life with a playful, arrogant confidence. But in the later stages...
The originally fearless Gojo Satoru surprisingly started to back down, admitting he was far inferior to Ryon Sukuna, and his character sowhat collapsed.
And in chapter 236, he suddenly lost the battle and was directly bisected by Ryon Sukuna.
This led to a new : Gojo Satoru beca two "2.5" Gojo Satorus.
To be honest, when Ren first read that part, he was also baffled by the original author's outrageous move.
Who were the readers of "Jujutsu Kaisen" watching?
Was it Yuji Itadori, the initially designated protagonist?
Or was it the story of the three youngsters striving to grow?
Neither. Everyone was watching Gojo Satoru, and they all considered Gojo Satoru the true protagonist of this work. Yet, the author, in a fine move, actually bisected the protagonist in everyone's hearts.
And then had the pure love warrior, who appeared later and had little screenti, pilot a Gundam?
From that mont on, this work collapsed. Of course, at that ti, there was no need to dwell on it too much, because not long after it collapsed, the work also completely concluded.
Out of sight, out of mind, so there was no need to continue following it.
For Ren, the story ended when Gojo Satoru was bisected, or when he said he was inferior to Ryon Sukuna. Watching further beca tasteless.
A good hand played terribly.
However, even though Gojo Satoru eventually beca 2.5 Gojo Satoru, his overall displayed strength was still very, very powerful.
Especially that phrase: 'Domain Expansion'!
This beca the most captivating and iconic aspect of the "Jujutsu Kaisen" ani.
"Tsk tsk! Another man whose handsoness is on par with mine."
Ren looked at Gojo Satoru, and the more he looked, the more he cherished him. In terms of pure, raw, destructive character strength, Gojo Satoru was not the strongest character card he possessed. Whitebeard's Gura Gura no Mi could probably destroy more, faster.
But in terms of handsoness, he was definitely the most handso. The official setting was that, aside from his personality, he was flawless; he could cook, do housework, and was excellent at singing, which made him even more like himself.
Moreover, many of Gojo Satoru's characteristics—his Infinity, his Six Eyes, his Domain—were not present in other character cards. He was a tactical monster. This Take Over was more suitable for certain special situations than even stronger character cards.
Ren carefully selected the nine blue and lower rarity character cards he had drawn this ti. To prevent accidents, he had to double-check to avoid accidentally selecting his important purple card, Ace, or his new gold, Gojo.
[Do you wish to recycle the selected character cards?]
"Yes!"
[Recycling successful! Congratulations, Host, your magic power has increased!]
Ren didn't feel much. A few trash cards wouldn't make a dent. Magic power only increased in visible stages every half-star, much like the early, middle, and late stages of Qi Condensation in cultivation novels. He was still in the "early" phase of 6-star.
And the magic power required to advance from 6-star to 7-star was double that needed to go from 5-star to 6-star.
It would take approximately three gold character cards to reach 7-star. Unless absolutely necessary, he would not do sothing so short-sighted as recycling a gold card.
Ren opened his personal attribute panel.
[Host: Ren]
[Age: 19 years old]
[Race: Human]
[Magic Power: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★]
[Magic: Take Over Magic]
[Character Cards: Ulquiorra Cifer (Gold), Yoriichi Tsugikuni (Gold), Fushiguro Toji (Gold), Edward Newgate (Gold), Minato Namikaze (Gold), Gojo Satoru (Gold), Portgas D. Ace (Purple).]
[Current Gacha Attempts: 5 tis]
Looking at his dense collection of gold character cards, Ren felt imnsely satisfied. Indeed, a man with a system was truly aweso.
His gacha attempts had accumulated to five due to the free monthly draw. Five more attempts, and he would have another ten-pull.
Next ca another exciting mont.
"Full-Body Take Over: Gojo Satoru!"
Ren's body began to change.
First, Ren's hair, which was black, turned a snowy, spiky white. His black eyes transford into pale, luminous blue eyes, so light they were almost white, containing a misty, ethereal glow. These were Gojo Satoru's family's inherited 'Six Eyes.'
[Akarin's Note: The Six Eyes (Rikugan) is a rare ocular jujutsu from 'Jujutsu Kaisen'. It grants the user extraordinary perception and the ability to use the 'Limitless' technique to its full potential.]
In terms of Naruto, it was a Kekkei Genkai (Bloodline Limit). Its abilities were sowhat similar to the Byakugan, but on an entirely different level.
1. It possessed 360-degree long-range vision without blind spots, allowing him to see behind himself, see from a great distance, and his vision would not be obstructed even if his line of sight was blocked.
2. It could directly discern whether an opponent was a sorcerer (or Mage) and see through their cursed technique (Magic).
3. It could directly track and predict cursed energy (Ethernano) trajectories, allowing the wielder to perform precise energy manipulation, which was a prerequisite for manipulating the Limitless cursed technique.
Then, Ren's clothes also transford into the simple, dark blue, high-collared style of the Jujutsu High uniform.
Ren went to the mirror and carefully admired his new appearance. He was taller now, well over 190cm, with long legs and a lean, powerful fra. The white hair and the srizing, sky-blue eyes were the most striking features.
The more he looked, the more satisfied he beca. A smirk, equal parts Ren's own charm and Gojo's boundless arrogance, spread across his face.
"I'm really too handso."
