The bright afternoon sun washed over the cobblestone streets of Magnolia.
The massive Fairy Tail guildhall stood tall and proud, looking exactly as it had before the Anima tore it from the earth.
Around the courtyard, the citizens and guild mbers were shaking their heads, trying to shake off the lingering disorientation.
"I don't get it," Wakaba muttered, tapping his pipe against his palm. "We were just sitting at the bar, and then the world went white. Now we're standing outside in the dirt?"
Natsu laughed loudly, throwing an arm around Makarov's shoulders. "You guys were trapped inside a giant floating crystal! We had to go to another dinsion, fight a whole army, and smash a giant robot dragon to get you back!"
Makarov blinked, his wrinkled face scrunching up.
"A giant crystal? Another dinsion? Natsu, have you been eating strange mushrooms in the forest again?"
"He's telling the truth, Master," Erza said, stepping forward with a fond, tired smile. "It was a difficult battle, and we lost a dear friend in Mystogan, but the guild is safe."
Lucy walked over, brushing dust from her skirt.
She looked at Natsu and sighed. "Another dinsion? Really? Why do I always sleep through the crazy stuff?"
"Trust , Lucy, you didn't want to et your alternate self," Gray smirked, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"She wore tight black leather, had a skull tattoo, and threatened us with a spiked whip."
Lucy turned pale, her jaw dropping. "I... I don't even want to know."
Gajeel snorted, crossing his arms. "The alternate you was way tougher. She actually put up a fight."
Before Lucy could yell at the Iron Dragon Slayer, a massive shadow fell over the courtyard.
The guild mbers looked up, expecting to see another dinsional portal or an attack.
Instead, the sky was filled with hundreds of small, winged figures floating gently down toward the city.
"What are those?!" Macao yelled, pointing at the sky. "Flying cats?! Did Happy multiply?!"
"They're Exceeds," Wendy explained, her eyes shining as Carla landed gracefully next to her.
"They're from Edolas, just like Happy and Carla. The Anima must have brought their whole island here!"
The winged cats touched down in the streets, looking around the strange, magic-filled world with wide, fearful eyes.
At the front of the flock stood an elegant, white-furred Exceed wearing regal garnts.
Queen Shagotte.
Carla gasped, taking a hesitant step forward.
She looked at the Queen, realizing for the first ti how strikingly similar their white fur and facial features were.
"We are safe," Queen Shagotte announced, her voice carrying a deep sense of relief. She looked at the Fairy Tail mages. "You saved our holand from destruction, and now we share your world. We owe you our lives."
Happy flew over, landing in front of a pair of older Exceeds—a tan cat nad Marl and a yellow cat nad Lucky.
They rushed forward, pulling the blue cat into a tearful hug.
"You grew up so strong, our little boy," Marl cried, burying her face in Happy's fur.
Happy blinked, tears welling in his eyes as he hugged them back. "Mom? Dad?"
Gajeel stepped forward, clearing his throat loudly. "Yeah, yeah, touching family reunions. But look what I found!"
He reached behind his back and pulled out a small, grumpy-looking black cat with a white muzzle.
The cat wore tiny green trousers and carried a small sword strapped to his back.
"I'm Panther Lily," the tiny cat grunted, crossing his arms and looking away. "The dinsional shift altered my body size. Don't make a big deal out of it."
"He's my cat!" Gajeel grinned, looking more thrilled than anyone had ever seen him. "I finally got a partner! Take that, Salamander!"
Natsu laughed, bumping fists with Happy.
To accommodate the massive influx of Exceeds and to celebrate their safe return, Makarov imdiately declared a city-wide party.
They didn't just stay at the guildhall.
The Master rented out a massive outdoor restaurant down the street, filling the patio with long wooden tables and barrels of ale.
The boss of the restaurant rushed frantically between the tables, sweating as he carried towering platters of grilled fish, roasted at, and fresh fruit.
"Coming right up! Please, don't eat the plates!"
Ace sat at a corner table, leaning back in his chair and enjoying the lively atmosphere.
The chaos of Fairy Tail was sothing he had genuinely missed while wandering the quiet, tense forests of Edolas.
Patamon sat on his head, happily munching on a slice of apple, while Gatomon sat on the table, expertly picking the bones out of a grilled fish with her claws.
"It's good to be back," Ace said, taking a sip of his water.
Wendy walked over, holding two plates of food.
She set one down in front of Ace and took a seat next to him.
Carla sat beside her, sipping delicately from a small cup of tea.
"Thank you for everything you did in Edolas, Ace," Wendy said softly.
She looked down at her wrists, where the silver Air Shatter Vambraces still rested.
"You protected us when we didn't have our magic. And you trusted to fight."
"You earned that trust, Wendy," Ace smiled, cutting into his al. "You held your own against tunnel worms and Royal Guards. You're a Fairy Tail mage. I knew you wouldn't back down."
Wendy bead, a faint blush dusting her cheeks.
Suddenly, Natsu leaped onto the center table, nearly knocking over a barrel of ale.
"Listen up, everyone! You won't believe what happened over there! Gray was wearing three winter coats! He was crying about the cold!"
"I WAS NOT!" Earth-Gray yelled, standing up so fast his chair fell over. He was already missing his shirt.
"You're making that up!"
"And Elfman was a huge crybaby!" Natsu continued, ignoring Gray entirely. "He tripped over his own feet and apologized to a wall!"
"That's not manly at all!" Elfman roared, crushing a tal cup in his hand. "I would never cry over a wall!"
"And you!" Natsu pointed straight at Ace, a massive grin on his face. "Ace turned into a giant golden wolf-knight and punched a robot dragon in the face! It was the coolest thing ever!"
The guild erupted into cheers and laughter.
Macao clapped Ace on the shoulder, nearly spilling his drink, while Wakaba blew a smoke ring and nodded in approval.
"A golden knight?" Erza asked, walking over to Ace's table with a plate of strawberry cake.
She took a seat, her eyes shining with curiosity. "I'm sorry I missed that. It sounds like you pushed your powers to new heights."
"We had to get creative," Ace shrugged, keeping his tone light. "The Royal Army didn't pull any punches, and King Faust's armor canceled out regular magic. We just hit him with sothing he couldn't absorb."
"You did well," Erza said, taking a delicate bite of her cake.
"We all did our part," Ace replied, watching Gajeel try and fail to get Panther Lily to eat a piece of iron scrap.
The sun began to set over Magnolia, casting a warm, golden glow over the celebrating mages and their new Exceed companions.
The music played louder, the boss brought out another round of food, and the laughter echoed late into the night.
